Great menu, presentation, sushi. Very friendly owner. A cut above all around.
All of the food we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. Especially the Shitake Galore and Truffle Toro maki rolls. The service was good but could have been better. Our server forgot some little details like bringing small plates for our appetizers. She eventually brought some after I dropped sone food on the table. 😄 Overall it was a great experience. I would come back again for another date night.
Dishes looked really good but taste so so, waiter put customers together and other table spoke loudly, which made me feel uncomfortable because lots of tables were empty. They said the tables would be full in some time but it was not true. Anyway they help me change to another table in the conner. It cost me $600 and seems that the service and food were not equal to that price. For your information.
Food was odd. I don't mind paying for good sushi, but this was not it. Octopus carpaccio was good, not great. Scallop and shisito was greasy almost inedible. Sushi was fine but no better than any other normal sushi place.
Delicious food , great atmosphere
Service eas outstanding, we even had the check on us at the table to ask how was our food. We ordered 3 different makis, which were delicious, but what we loved the most was their squid ink noodles, it was extremely delicious! The place had an amazing vibe for dates or even grab some drinks. Definitely coming back!
The salmon on fire is my absolute favorite! My husband loves the wagyu sliders.
Disappointing. We were seated in the dungeon-like downstairs. Service was weak. Table was dirty, and never cleaned over the course of the meal. This was for a 75th birthday dinner and we were pretty disappointed in the overall experience.
It’s a shame since we are long standing Oishii customers having gone to their Chestnut Hill location since it opened the mid 90’s.
Oishii Boston is an outstanding sushi restaurant with excellent cocktails. The food was exquisite and delicious. Definitely try the truffled edamame!
Not a sushi/nigiri restaurant. It’s a great Japanese restaurant that serves great sushi rolls/sushi maki. But that’s NOT sushi.
Who on earth garnishes sushi nigiri with limes and other add-ons on top of the fish? Nigiri is about the composition of rice, vinegar and the flavor of the fish. Any decent sushi chef in Tokyo would be disgraced serving nigiri like this.
Just stick with the excellent sushi maki and other items. If you want sushi nigiri, go somewhere else please.
Nous avons passé un très bon dîner. Le service était impeccable et les plats excellents.
Loved Oishii. I have dietary restrictions and the kindness and support for getting a super yummy meal was really appreciated. Beautiful hamachi kama, and a couple of modified rolls. All really delicious and beautifully presented. My friends, visiting from out of town, one vegan, one who eats most everything, loved Oishii, and asked that we come whenever they visit. We were grateful to be seated in a smaller, quieter area. Wonderful place! Wonderful meal!
Best Japanese food in Boston. Great ambiance. Knowledgeable staff. Complete Sake list. The Omakase is world class. Highly recommended.
Nigiri rice was so so hard and unenjoyable, overpriced uni pasta which barely tasted like uni, and in general, a ripoff.
salmon on fire was delicious!
Out of this world food!!
Lobster dumplings and broiled edamame were most unexpected and very stimulation to one's palate.
Would go back to Boston JUST for these two plates!!!
We ordered when the restaurant was about half full before it filled up on a Saturday night and one of our dishes never made it because the kitchen was backed up. Our server was nice about it but it was surprising that this happened at a restaurant of this stature and price point.
Amazing food!! Service was good not excellent. Lighting is very dark in main dining area so it was hard to see. Didn’t know we ordered a sushi platter that was $100. Favorite was mushroom appetizer and roll with tuna, shrimp tempura and truffle - so delicious!
Amazing menu. Friendly service and unforgettable dishes. The crispy tuna rice is out of this world.
Food and service were excellent. My friend forgot to mention that she cannot eat cilantro and they took the dish right back no problems.
It is loud with music and people but not to loud we couldn't Talk and the atmosphere is nice, as is the presentation. They were a little stingy on the serving of miso soup.
Prices are high, but so is quality.
Very slow to get our food!
overall great dining experience, wonderful food. everyone had a good time.
Took too long to be served.
Waiter said the “house” was full, and it is always this way...
They should Have a plan B.
Overall , I would return IN NOT A BUSY DAY!
Fantastic place highly recommended
I would recommend the restaurant. Food was good but too expensive
Food was fabulous Exceptional
disappointed, was awesome 10 years ago. Not what I was hoping for and anticipating.
For this price. The food is fair but not impressive. The atmosphere is not as good as expected. Two Kids sitting next to us and we’re very loud
The food was get by Japanese standards
Truly authentic sushi and sashimi, rare ingredients directly from Japan, very courteous staff
Food was very good and service was exceptional. I enjoyed the evening but it is very expensive. I would recommend for really special occasions. Too expensive to go here on a regular basis.
Amazing food, best sushi, the fried lobster dumplings were mouthwatering
Food was good, however not exceptional. Very dark place, cannot really enjoy seeing your food. We were not served all together but one after the other instead, the last dish being so delayed that it had probably been forgotten.
The Salmon (over fire), the O-Toro, the Cod, the CHILEAN SEABASS and the Hamachi Sashimi are brilliant. The Uni Pasta was good but I would stick to ordering the fillets that are on the menu. The Tokyo Style Soft Shell Crab Maki was also decent, but would stick to their sushi and sashimi in the future. Great Ambience and the service was very good as well!!
We stayed in Boston for a few days and my grandson told me that this was his favorite sushi restaurant. We love sushi so we made a reservation.
Food was delicious and service was impeccable. Prices are a bit high, but my main complaint is that the restaurant is just too dimly lit and that the tables were just too close together.
The best japonese food i have erver be in Boston!
Terrible service. Unfriendly waiter.
