The crab in the soft shell crab tasted off. The wasabi is not effective and has no taste. The fish was pretty good.

Oishii is not what it used to be. The entire experience was a disaster. I had booked a table for two plus a stroller and had specified that, as we wanted to dine out for our wedding anniversary. When we got there the host said the baby/stroller were not allowed inside, later said I could bring in the sleeping newborn baby and sit him on a “bench” inside. I explained he was a newborn and asleep and we had a convertible stroller/carseat that could go on top of a chair. After almost leaving because of such a horrible experience with this rude/unpleasant host, we were finally seated and ordered about 7 appetizers. Salmon on fire was delicious, and salmon crispy rice were ok. Other than that, the food was nothing to rave about. The scallop on shisho leaves only tasted like fried grease you get at a carnival stand, the hamachi was not pleasant at all, and sushi makis were about as good as supermarket sushi. We were excited to go to Oishii again after ten years being back in Boston but would never recommend or go back again. Not so much for the food (which we didn’t enjoy) but mainly because of the horrible experience with the senseless, rude host.

Service was terrible, took 30 minutes to get a drink order, then never got offered another drink. Took food order after 45 min. Order was wrong. Then had to call her to get check.

We loved our dinner. Our server was attentive and friendly. The menu is creative and the choices are fun to decide from. Pricey but excellent for a treat.
