Oiji always delivers exceptional foods with friendly staffs. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in New York.
I went to oiji for my boy friend’s b-day and it was great experience. Foods were pleasant and service was also good. We ordered grilled octopus for appetizer, bone marrow, saam plater for main and those are ok for 2 people.
The food wasn’t impressed like taste, value and ingredients at all just presentation.
Food was excellent - everything we tried was so pleasantly surprising and beyond our expectations. We’ve been here twice and made our way through most of the menu and there hasn’t been one dish we didn’t like.

Inventive yet familiar riffs on Korean cuisine done with great detail, creativity, tastiness, subtlety, and quality. Their transformative take on Korean standards is both refreshing, sometimes surprisingly adventurous, but always in tune with the tastes and complexities of what I/we grew up loving and expecting ‘at home’…
Awesome service, very friendly, helpful, attuned, accommodating to our requests. Will definitely be back again and look forward to what OIJI becomes when they move to their new digs. Hope they can keep the signatures and continue evolving new variations. Highly recommend to Korean traditionalists, newbies, and gastro-adventurers all!
- Scallops Hwe was impeccable in balance, texture, flavors with addictive cucumber broth
- Baby Octopus with gochujang butter was a winner (just the sauce was garlicky in itself; but perfect in collab with the pan-fried octopus)
- OIJI bowl is a must (nori rice was a great accompanist to the uni and amaebi!)
- Torched-Wagyu with tasty bathing and raw egg was very special!
- Oxtail was succulent with a subtle kalbijim reference (for our table’s tastes, it could’ve used a kick of finely sliced Thai chili peppers to bring heat and fruitiness)
- Bone marrow was good marriage of unctuousness, combo of textures creamy through lightly crispy with lightly-brightly flavored (as in over-toned) rice crisps.
- Signature dessert is trip-worthy

I'd like Oiji bowl and the lobster in Chili Lobster. They are fresh and taste good. However, for me, the Scallops "Hwe" is too salty and I do not like the sweet taste of Bone Marrow though I have to admit their combinations are novel and good. BTW, the food size is small, pay attention to this for guy's dining.
I just dislike the first outdoor seating area which is really cramped and I find a pile of noodle beside the desk at the dark side. I would try the indoor area if I would come next time.

We always enjoy this place. The mushroom salad is excellent. We also had the hamachi, the shrimp and the chicken. Very non-traditional Korean food

Amazing food as always - this is my first review but not the first time I've been. Outdoor dining is tough to work around (hence the ambiance rating) but overall Oiji staff and chefs do a great job of handling the situation.
I found a half foot long peice of PLASTIC in our foie gras dish. I COULD HAVE CHOCKED on it! I told the waiter, he quickly took it away before I could take a picture of that dish. Threa st they could have done was to not charge us the dish, WE WERE CHARGED FULL PRICE, no discount what so ever. Unacceptable. would have not felt upset or left this one star review if they were professional and had courtesy to remove this dish from our bill.

the food here is not cheap but it is insanely yummy, cocktails are good too and service was very attentive! We had our own little outdoor pod and had a really lovely dinner. Truly no complaints!

We had one of the private outside rooms (AC and heat), so we felt comfortable and appreciated that covid precautions seemed great.

Sampled pretty much everything except the oxtail and really enjoyed it. I think 5-6 dishes for a two people is just the right amount. You have to leave room for their dessert. Drinks are also excellent. They have done a great job with the outdoor booths which were comfortable even in 90 degree weather
