The dining area is a total of 38 seats including the Bar, Communal Table, and Banquette Tables. Based on availability, reservations may be booked at the Communal Table.
Great dinner but expensive. Food and service was exceptional. Oiji Bowl was a stand out. Ssam was yummy. Highly recommend.
Loved the food at Oiji! We were lucky to get bar seats in front of Bobby who was so pleasant and helpful to us all evening.

I've been to all the best restaurants in the East Village, and there are many fine ones, including David Chang's Ko, and OIJI is the best of them all: the best food on the Lower East Side.
This is a great little place with enthusiastic staff, great cocktails and really interesting fun food. We ate at the bar which was fine although the place was packed and my stool did get bumped. The bonus was watching the amazing bar tender, and there is an open kitchen so you can keep an eye on that from the bar too!
We chose to share dishes; there is a mix of dishes from single portions to larger dishes designed for two. They recommend 4-5 dishes for two. You could eat here solo; but in a larger group you could probably taste everything!
We loved the delicate mushroom salad, and the Ssam platter (pork and rice with condiments to wrap in lettuce leaves and eat with your hands). And the honey butter chips with ice cream for dessert is bizarrely good once you stop overthinking it!
The service and food were excellent. Very nice wines, too. Honestly, I wasn't sure when I first looked at the menu, but I was delightfully surprised by all the amazing tastes. (A random table of screeching people made it louder than it needed to be because everyone else had to speak loudly to hear each other. Hard to avoid that I guess.) I'd go back in a heartbeat!
I asked the sever or host to help us take a picture, who was being very inpatient took the picture when I wasn’t even ready after handing him the phone. After he finish he throws me back the phone, didn’t seem very happy.
DOH inspection happened during dinner. But nothing was done to make our experience better. We were sympathetic but there are ways to make it up from the restaurant's behalf.

We sat at the bar area and were given a personal waiter who was very helpful in discussing the preparation of the cuisine. The food was amazing. Textures and flavors were just out of this world. The bartender was like a scientist with some of the coolest drinks I’ve ever seen. And finished off our meal with the butter honey chips for dessert. Amazing staff and food.

AMAZING food and service.
The food here is really good, the fried chicken is special as were the scallops and the lobster noodles. However the tables are far too close together, literally 2 inches if that so that there’s no way to not be a voyeur on the conversations beside you. Even taking out one table on the right side would give the other tables a bit more room. Hard to imagine that the turnover of one table a night is critical to the economics of the restaurant. That jamming in of the patrons is the main demerit that brings the overall rating down. Otherwise the food is quite good.
This is an amazingly sophisticated kitchen. The quality of the stocks and sauces is on the level of one of the better French restaurants. Nicely varied menu, reasonable prices, personal service - a real keeper in every respect.
Wonderful dining experience. More people = more dishes to try. Hard to pick a favorite dish because they were all so delicious. I love the depth of flavor and the heat level that surprises you in a good way. Don’t sleep on the cocktails either—the bartender takes the craft seriously. Very knowledge and friendly servers that always happened to be there for you at the right time.

Food is beyond delicious! They say 2-3 dishes per person, but we always get more because it's all so good. The dessert is so different and an absolute must, even if you don't have space.
Everything was spectacular, from the food to the service. We went specifically for the dessert (honey butter chips w. Vanilla ice cream), but our main dishes were equally delicious. And of course the dessert, it was everything we had hoped it would be.
The Oiji bowl is out of this world. Really enjoyed the oxtail also. The Ssam was actually the thing that was the most disappointing... a bit overflavored... prefer the one at Momofuku.
decent food. had fried chicken (amazing - best thing we had, the sauce is so traditionally korean and pairs so well with the meat), uni oiji bowl (2nd best although uni is not flavorful enough to compete with the strong flavors of the seaweed rice), bone marrow, jang jorim. the butter in the jang jorim tasted very strange and the meat on top of the bone marrow was very fatty (which some people enjoy, i wasnt a fan). the service was fantastic, but probably wouldn't go again.
What a great restaurant! We came just for dessert but ended up getting some small savory plates as well. The waiter was really knowledgeable and friendly- he took the time to point out the dishes that were gluten free since I have a sensitivity and new the menu super well. The plates are very small but you are meant to get multiple to share. The star was the honey butter chips with ice cream, which is their only dessert. Holy cow. So good! All of the food was really well thought out and meticulously plated, and most importantly, insanely delicious! Can't wait to go back for a full dinner.

The food with an Asian (Korean) flair is excellent, main courses as Oxtail or Short ribs are very Classic French.

I had a reservation for two at 6:45 I checked in with the girl at front she first wanted to put me at this tiny table in a corner where I couldn’t move i said no and she refused after asking her three times why I couldn’t sit at a more comfortable table for two. If I’m about to spend money at a restaurant I’d like to be comfortable
It’s absolutely wonderful. The only think I don’t like about it is that the tables are too close together. Otherwise, food is perfection.
One of my favorite meals in NYC to date. The flavor combinations were amazing and the presentation was both artistic and colorful.
I booked the restaurant for my foodie clients, and will be back personally on many more occasions.
OIJI is not only worth the reservation, it is one of the best experiences I have had thus far.
