Oh Mexico Ratings and Reviews
The taco selction is amazing and delicious. A little pricey especially when you are charged a resort tax fee and an involuntary gratuity fee. We were not at a resort and actually had to walk to get to the location. The waiter was amazing but just to assume we had to pay a 18% tip is crazy. If the service is great we would leave a great tip but if the service was bad why would I be required to leave a tip? Go figure
We were sat at our table quickly and our server was friendly and helpful recommending some great daily specials which two of us went for. Cocktails were dreamy and shaken and served at the table which was a nice touch. Two of our party had the fajita which were presented well but the chicken had a funny aftertaste, otherwise all good and we would return again.
Had a lovely experience! Everyone from the seating staff to the servers was super nice. Started raining outside and we were offered the option to go in, which we did. Luckily we got to keep our server who was phenomenal. Food was delicious - me and three friends all got different tacos and they were all phenomenal. Highly recommend.
Over the past 8 years or so I've eaten here every visit to South Beach ... at least twice a year.
The menu has changed and so has the value. The guacamole used to be the big draw, a large serving and always quite delicious. The last several visits the quantity is about 1/2 what it was, the price is up, and the taste is bland and common place.
I might still have gone again but this time I was on the "john" almost non-stop for 6 hours beginning at 1:30 a.m. Awful. I have no doubt this was the result of my enchiladas at Oh Mexico. While I suppose this could happen anywhere, it is enough, along with the quality, value and selection reductions, to eliminate it from my list.
Adios Oh Mexico. AMFIL!
Expensive, but delicious food. The experience was bad. Our waiter literally kicked us out of our table at the end of the meal. I had not even finished my meal before they started clearing our table. When we asked him to stop, he stood behind our table and waited impatiently for us to leave. I would not recommend this place because you can get cheaper, better Mexican cuisine in another restaurant in South Beach.
It's great to sit out on the sidewalk amidst all of the people walking on Española Way and the service was very attentive (though it wasn't very busy). The cheese enchiladas, however, were awful. The fish tacos, not so bad. Didn't live up to the expectations I had after seeing the ratings online.
The service was terrible. We waited 30 mins before drinks arrived. Then another 20 mins for our food. The food was overpriced extremely average Mexican. Very disapointing as we had read reasonable reviews. We sat next to another couple who were having similar issues.
I really like this place and recommend it. The food was very good. I ranked it 3/5 because it was not even close to the best Mexican food I've ever had but it was still very good. The service was fantastic. I made a reservation through open table and they had a table reserved outside just like I had requested.
The atmosphere was amazing being ground zero for Espanola Way.
We are from Belgium and this was our third visit to Oh Mexico in Miami SoBe Nice street (Espanola Way) and nice terasse to eat outdoor !!! The taste of the food is delicious...but... Food comes too quick wine is too expensive and there is almost no choice in desserts (sweets). Overall a fine experience but not a place to spent a long relaxing evening.
After a disappointing attempt to find delicious Mexican cuisine in a city dominated by Cuban flavors, I found Oh Mexico. Dining alone, I had a cozy outdoor table, great for people watching. The restaurant is among many along a pedestrian-only street. Trees twinkled with small lights and a variety of music filled the air. Guacamole and fresh warm chips was the perfect starter for my Shrimp Tacos. Server was attentive and handsome. I would definitely return
Being located at the intersection between Española Way and Washington Avenue, the restaurant provides a fantastic ambiance. The main issue, however, is value. The food is good but tremendously expensive, and while the service was good, automatically adding 18% seems imposing.
