I had heard good things about this place and have wanted to try it for awhile. It was the first wonderfully sunny, hot day in spring so the restaurant was completely busy. The restaurant was completely under staffed. We waited 30 min for our coffee and I didn’t get the milk I requested (to go with the coffee) until we got our check. So by the the coffee was cold. The food was delicious and the servers were friendly- but I felt terrible that they were put in an awful position to be so overworked. Just make sure your restaurant is fully staffed so each patron is well cared for.
The food is reliably tasty. Try the fish tacos and the enchiladas verdes. Service was fine. It gets very noisy, so not the best place for a quiet conversation.
Guacamole and tajin-rimmed margaritas are the best plus the carnitas tacos are a must!
Excellent food and service. Keep up the great work! Thank you!
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had the ravioli with spinach and the osso bucco with a glass of Montapulciano. For dessert, we had the tartufo. I would order the same dishes again.
We were there for a birthday. The waiter offered us crab enchiladas as the evening special. Two people out of the seven sitting at the table ordered the crab enchiladas. The waiter then brought back shrimp enchiladas and told us that was what he had offered from the onset. When the entire table contradicted him he said oh yes the chef had told him that it was crab but there was no crab available so all they had was shrimp. One of the guests asked if she could exchange for something else he said, after he rolled his eyes, sure. I asked if she would be comped for the meal. He said no
And if she decided to eat the shrimp
She would of course be charged for it. The other food came out all mixed up. The drinks were also over ordered. We ordered two spicy margaritas and three were brought to the table The bill had an extra sangria charge. Mango margarita instead of passion fruit was also brought and the waited then asked , “well do you want that one instead?”’as if the error was ours.
With our reservation we asked for dessert to be brought out for the birthday celebrant. they brought out one dessert without asking what we wanted or wether the other guests would also like a dessert. It was a mess. To top
It off a 25% tip
Was included for such poor service. . I will not go back.
My favorite place in the Village. Guacamole is delicious and fresh. Everyone is so nice there that you want to go back. We always go for happy hour, never fails!
I love love love Ofrenda. Been there a few times now and it never disappoints. Great margaritas and even more delicious food - you have to get the Mole Poblano!
Without fail , always delicious! Amazing service! I never leave disappointed!
Excellent ambiance and drinks were nice, but the food wasn't amazing
Was disappointed. Seated at table with sun glaring in our eyes. 1st thing hostess told us was we had a 2 hour limit on our reservation, in other words, eat and drink and get out within 2 hours. That was a first. In addition - margaritas were lousy - no better than what you would get at a chain. Way too sweet. Sangria was watered down, contained NO brandy. Ugh. Portions were small - a small cup of guacamole costs $13 dollars! Not happy - will not return. For really good Mexican in NYC go to Anejo. At least there if you are going to pay through the nose - you will get a quality hand crafted drink and decent portions.
Some friends and I ( a party of 7) were visiting from the United Kingdom, and booked for an evening meal. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was lovely, and the drinks flowed well. The final bill was correct and easy to swallow, so value for money.
We agreed at the end of the meal that we all would return to this establishment easily and would recommend it to friends and family visiting the area.
Good food! It was very cold the time I went and had to finish dinner with a jacket on.
Meh. Food wasn’t good enough to match the price or poor service and ambiance. Better Mexican places nearby
Ofrenda is always a pleasure, a true west village gem with extraordinary food that has never disappointed, cocktails to match, and excellent service overall. Space gets full quickly, so be sure to make a reservation on busy nights.
This was a great spot. It's in an excellent area of the village - Went for valentines day. Excellent food, atmosphere, and drinks.
Always interesting food
Always an amazing time here! Great food , strong drinks!
This is a fabulous place for happy hour and the best guacamole I've had in the Northeast! Their margaritas are fabulous and the house wines for happy hour are decent. I highly recommend the happy hour bites as they are all excellent and the prices are very good.
Service was great but food was slightly cold. Better for happy hour drinks than food
Ofrenda came highly recommended but I was a little disappointed because the menu was so limited.
Great for a relaxed brunch spot. Fresh and tasty food at a reasonable price with friendly service
Went for happy hour with another friend. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. Happy hour shrimp tostado was amazing!
My wife and I go here constantly. The service is excellent and the happy hour margaritas are the best we've had.
The food was amazing and the service even better. :)
The food although delicious - skirt steak was tough and hard to cut. Quality of the meat? Not sure. Guac was great. Service was good.
Please don't go to Ofrenda. I want it to remain "our secret"!!!! :-) Seriously, how often do you find a Village eatery that has wonderful food, fantastic service, great ambiance, and plenty of space? And is affordable and near everything you're downtown for?
We picked this place entirely out of convenience, but I can't say enough about the food, cocktails, and above all, fantastic service. People were SO NICE. I'll be going back often!
Love everything about this place! The food, the service, the vibe in general is great. I’ll be coming back here!
After our entrees were ordered, the hostess asked us to move from a nice window table to a cramped table in the back. We asked to for time to chat. As our entrees were placed down, the manager came over and offered to comp an entree and give us dessert or something if we moved. We agreed. They comped the less expensive entree and sent us dessert, initially without giving us a choice. When we did not eat what was sent they came over and gave us a choice. The food was great, but this situation should never have happened.
I love this place. The food is genuinely Mexican and delicious. The place is nice and we had a great time.
The food was OK, kinda disappointed as had high expectations due to good reviews and I was celebrating my birthday so that kinda sucked. The guac we ordered was bland...and I usually dont add much salt to my food/when cooking so I feel they didnt add salt at all...fish tacos were just OK. Happy hour is $8 for 2 tacos but I feel $4 for each taco is the standard rate for non HH. The prickly pear margarita was OK, nothing special. Everyone else at the table said their dishes was OK as well (other tacos, chicken mole, enchiladas verdes and branzino) The only thing that was great was the staff and service. Most likely wont be coming back as theyre are better mexican places in tbe city.
Great service and a a special night. Food and drink were delicious. Space was tight but added to the fun.
the food was okay...pretty overpriced. the drinks were good.
the service was good. i don't know if it was just the night but it was very noisy, very hard to enjoy and have a conversation.
wouldn't not go back, but wouldn't say its a memorable place for me.
Very good food.
There was a mouse scurrying across the floor. The staff acted pretty non-chalant about it. This was after we had already eaten and paid. We were all disgusted and left immediately.
Great margaritas fun atmosphere good happy hour friendly service
Ofrenda treats neighbors as family. We are always greeted warmly and thoroughly enjoy every experience with the exceptional staff!
Super friendly service, great for Saturday brunch, lots of egg options. Great Bloody Marias! last minute reservations a real plus.
Great food very loud so moved outside luckily nice night
Despite living in the neighborhood and frequenting clubs nearby, this was my first visit to Ofrenda, and I was pleased with the food and friendly service. The noise level, however, is extremely high; it was so loud that it was difficult to hear my dinner partner over the din. Many New York restaurants are noisy, but this was one of the noisiest I've ever been to. I'd go back for the food, but probably only with a large crowd planning to drink and ready to shout at each other during the meal to be heard.
