One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Happy hour drinks and butanes throughout the restaurant. Food is simply outstanding.
So loud we had to yell to hear each other talk.
Great happy hour deals (tacos and margs) before 7pm!
really awesome, simple high quality menu - wait staff was great! pretty loud though for a 1st date.
Be aware that they will try to take your table from you if you’re “there too long”.
The staff was very nice and attentive. Margaritas were excellent and food was yummy! Gets crowded after 5pm so make your reservations!
Great happy hour - $8 margaritas and $10 guacamole until 7! For dinner we all got tacos and all were good. We weren’t seated until 45 mins after our reservation but service was great, they extended the happy hour for us until we could be seated and then sent over a free order of churros to make up for it. Would definitely go back!
Went for brunch and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was.
Not very good. I don’t think it is worth waiting 15 minutes for this.
Very friendly and attentive service! They do have a posted time frame for staying at your table but even though they seemed busy, we never felt rushed. Delicious food and drinks.
Excellent service, great cocktails, great happy hour menu. The queso fundido and carnitas are top notch. Fresh tortillas. Will come back for a longer stay.
Amazing happy hour, great cocktails!
Lovely. Just lovely!
Why must I write a 50 character review when one word will do????
The wait staff is fantastic. The food is better than you would expect. The drinks were stiff. You can't get a much better experience than me and my girlfriend had. If you're already here looking at this review, then you should already be deciding to come here. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.
AMAZING! Its such a cozy restaurant and has a simple menu filled with delicious options. The drinks are incredible with my personal favorite being the classic margarita pitcher.
Was very good, will definitely be back.
They have a great happy hour deal that Is great for pre-dinner drinks. Our waiters were fantastic - until they weren’t. They are very serious about the 90 minute maximum. When we hit our 90 minutes they offered to move us to a different table which implies to us we could stay. We asked for food menus and they gave them to all of us. Once we were ready to order, we were told quite aggressively our reservation was for 90 minutes, it is “posted everywhere including the menu”, and we had to leave or get back in line for a different reservation.
Totally get it - it is posted - but why did you give us a new table and food menus if you planned on kicking us out? Really ruined the entire evening for us and wouldn’t recommend anyone go there except to walk in for 1 margarita.
Extraordinarily overpriced. The food is good, but $15 will only get you 2 small tacos. Shocked by the abysmal amount of food. After grabbing 4 tacos, 1 beer, and 1 cocktail ($65), my friend and I left to go to another Mexican restaurant where we had the same amount and same quality food, for a fraction of the price.
I love Mexican food and this is my favorite place in NYC. I am a vegetarian and it is friendly -- the tacos de rajas and quesadillas are outstanding. Great service and margaritas too!
Great Happy Hour, good service. Everything was delicious! Great smoky jalapeño Margarita!
Great service! Delicious drinks.
Small, intimate space with great food and service. Get the fish tacos! They’re so delicious!
We had a great time! The food is delicious and the service was FAST!
We had a reservation for 6:45 and after waiting 35 minutes with no sign of a table opening we left hungry and had to find a new place.
Came here for happy hour. Great deals on both drinks and food! Best thing we ordered were the Rajas Poblano Tacos. We ordered a second round they were so good. It’s a bit loud, and I don’t think the ambience is anything special, but we had outstanding service. We were seated right at the time of our reservation, which I appreciated. The only thing that could have been better was if they had just a little space for standing when you’re waiting for your table. It’s a tight fit. Highly recommend!
We have averaged one visit a week for nearly three years. Best margs in the city.
The food sucked. Dry meat In the tacos. Guac was good.
I brought my teen for their birthday and was very pleased. they were so friendly and efficiant.
Just okay. We weren't seated until about 15 or 20 minutes after our reservation which would be no big deal, except there's nowhere to stand while you wait -- it's really packed. The place was really LOUD (both music and conversation levels) and the hosts, while nice, seemed really harried and panicking. The server also rushed us to choose and didn't offer any information or ask if we had any questions about the menu. Only one meatless entree option which didn't inspire. Left kinda hungry and disappointed I didn't just reserve at Jajaja. Good drinks though -- might go back for happy hour if already in the area.
Great food, prices (went during HH), and all around experience, ambiance. Highly recommend if you want good Mexican at a reasonable price in the West Village
Awesome food and service! We started with the nachos and they were especially good. The servers were very attentive and made us feel welcome.
Every time I come to the city... I make a reservation at this restaurant! I recommend the Smokey jalapeño margaritas by the pitcher! The food is amazing but the place is small and if you’d like to eat here get a reservation. Expect to be in and out in 90 mins... because they will no doubt need your table as soon as your done eating! Enjoy
I've been to Ofrenda many times during the past few years and have always been happy with the food, the authenticity, the drinks, the vibe. This time was a very disappointing. Same vibe - very happy. But the first 2 drinks we ordered, they didn't have - they pride themselves in having the best tequila menu. Our 2nd choices were ok - mine great, my sister's not so much. The food was lackluster - my chicken was dry with way too much cheese. And my sister's dish was flavorless except for the sauce. Sauce and cheese can only count for so much. They were great to sit us before our reservation but the person said the wait would be 2 minutes... it was more like 15-20. Not cool since we passed on waiting at seats at the bar so we were standing over 2 people eating near the door - very uncomfortable. I hope this was just one bad experience and not a troubling sign b/c I do really like this place and want it to succeed.
Set a reservation for 7:45, wasn’t seated until 8:10. Service was quick at least, and food was pretty good in a lively but crowded space.
Overall we had an enjoyable dinner at Ofrenda. The happy hour is a great value and the smoked jalapeno margaritas we had were slammin'. We started with a fresh, chunky but slightly oversalted guacamole, a delicious and extra thick
cheese quesadilla, and two tacos, rajas and fish, which were tasty but unremarkable. Also tried the scallop entree, scallops were thick, juicy and perfectly cooked, but wish the accompanying portions of asparagus and sweet potato were a little heartier. The menu is very sophisticated gastronomically, but the ambiance is kind of loud, dark and divey which was a bit disonant and disappointing. The service was smiling, friendly and efficient throughout. All in all, good to try something new, a good choice if you're in the West Village and want Mexican food.
Fantastic margarita, amazing fish tacos, best home drown service in the city. Love this place.
Cute place. Low key vibe. Small. Good smoky margarita. INSANE CHORIZO NACHOS! Worth the trip.
Very loud and energetic
This place has gone downhill but the prices have gone up tremendously. Happy hour is no longer a decent deal. Used to be my go-to, but I’ll be finding another.
Let’s be this place and come he really very time we come to New York (from London). Food is good, ambience great and Smoke Jalapeño Marguritas outstanding
