Off The Hook Ratings and Reviews
Everything from the staff to the food was amazing. They took such good care of us it was wonderful. You could even hear the other servers at their tables and they were also taking great care of their customers. I can't wait to go back. The food is more expensive than your normal dinner out however, it was so worth every penny.
Off the Hook is our favorite restaurant. Each time we go we are more impressed. We have never had anything to complain about. The food from appetizers to dessert is the best you can get. Seafood is so fresh. The rolls are homemade and warm. We love the clam chowder. All the desserts are homemade. The only problem is which one to get. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. It takes us an hour to get there but it is an easy drive and the restaurant is very accessible. If you haven’t tried it you are really missing out.
I am a frequent customer, but this time food was aweful. Appetizer was aweful (oyster with prosciutto is an odd pick), my steak was burned (tasted like coal) and the basil sorbet was like eating pesto. Not good at all and I paid 90$ a person. Very disappointed.
Fresh fish and great bread served up in a tastefully decorated dinning room. Spacious and clean.
I've enjoyed both group and intimate dinning here
My only recommendation is while the coconut rice is good, it is diminished by being served on an open side plate-suggest a rice bowl.
This was our first visit to Off The Hook and I can't believe we waited this long to dine at this fabulous restaurant. We're not seafood lovers so maybe that is the reason but we had holiday company who enjoy seafood very much so made a reservation for around Xmas. I can't say anything negative about our experience. There are a number of non-seafood entrees especially the filet mignon which is right up there in quality with a fine steakhouse. Beautiful dining rooms along with tables and booths that leave enough room between patrons that you can have a conversation without talking too loud or overhearing someone else. Definitely a repeat and our out of town guests were equally enthused.
Off the Hook is one of our favorite restaurants. The fish is so fresh, and the drink menu is outstanding. We had the swordfish encrusted in parmesan and it was fantastic! The desserts are all made by their pastry chef and are also outstanding. This is an excellent restaurant for special occasions.
Due to holiday schedules, we made reservations for a late afternoon dinner to celebrate a special birthday. When we arrived, we were told the dining room was closed and we would need to be seated in the bar or patio. Fortunately, the patio was decorated and lovely. Unfortunately, our waitress told us that the only food available was from the bar appetizer menu. I explained that when I made the reservation, no one mentioned that dinner or even lunch was not an option and that we were celebrating a birthday.
Our waitress then went a step beyond and talked with the manager; and returned to tell us if we made our selection quickly, they would be able to serve us from the lunch menu. We did so and the food was very good.
If the restaurant is closed for dining between 3-5, it should be clearly stated on both the website and Open Table. The kindess of the waitress saved our day.
Service staff were very good. We were seated at the time of our reservation. Waiter knew the menu well and reviewed things carefully. Two of our diners got excellent meals -- the ruby trout dishes. I had a sea bass special. The fish was great but the risotto was past its prime. The shrimp special had exactly 4 shrimp of medium size and a couscous side which was mediocre. Hence she felt she did not get her money's worth. We also had a side of cauliflower. It was an interesting notion but mushy inside. I'm not certain what it was supposed to be.
Finally, the waiter did not describe which were "sustainable fish".
The menu is very long with lots of options. Sometimes that's a warning.
