This was our second visit to Off the Hook and it was once again a perfect meal. From initial greeting, to server, to food presentation and most important the meals were absolutely delicious. Can not wait for our next visit.
This restaurant is top notch and worth the higher than average price point. We will be back many times in the future for sure.
Beautiful Ambiance, Delicious Cusine, Great Staff. Can't wait to go back!
We had an outstanding dinner. Service is probably the BEST I ever had. Food was beyond excellent
We made reservations for 3:00 p.m. figuring we would be the last lunch reservation and head over to the bar for happy hour... only they don’t accept reservations for 3.. so we got there were placed immediately at the bar.. from there things were ok.. except people were literally coming up and asking us for our table the rest of the night... so overall felt like I went to McDonalds.
This was our first time at Off The Hook. We went for a late lunch. The service was excellent and the food very good.
As return customers with a reservation, we were puzzled that the main hostess had us stand and wait for more than five minutes rather than seating us at one of the at least seven tables open. While we stood waiting, she wrote out pink post it notes and instructed the other hostess to have other tables cleared for us. Did not feel very welcomed .
Great selection of fresh fish prepared in your choice of methods. Great raw bar selection. I had tuna and my wife had salmon. Very good. We will return.
We thought our oyster po-boy and lobster roll were outstanding and the service was excellent.
Love OTH and go there often. The fish is always fresh and well prepared. The wait staff is helpful, attentive and friendly without being obtrusive.
Their hollandaise sauce is terrible, though.
Top shelf experience as usual. My go top place.
We normally eat dinner here. Today we decided to try out the lunch. Waited forever to get bread and menu is very limited. My fish had so many nuts on it that is all I tasted. Fish was very blah no taste after all the nuts. I would not recommend coming here for lunch. Just wait for the Dinner menu to take affect.
as always top notch, service, food, just a bit pricey but it"s worth it beats out in my opinion anything on Mt. Washington.
Excellent meal and service
Only reason i knocked a star is due to the lack of a warm welcome at the entrance front desk area. The 3 women there were unpleasant, and really turned me off prior to dinner. However, once seated, our server was excellent, food is always excellent, and wait staff tending to our table were excellent. Food came in a timely manner. I do feel ambiance is so-so. Feels stale, needs an update or something. Maybe it’s just the large square space, and lack of decor, music? Not sure exactly. All in all, I’ve been attending Off The Hook for years, and will continue to do so. Always delicious.
Tanya Tucker recommended "Off the Hook" at her concert in York Pa. She asked the crowd if she was near Pittsburgh because Off the Hook was the best restaurant that she ever ate at. I finally made it there and have to agree, it was absolutely wonderful!!!!
Birthday dinner excellent as always
Menu extensive excellent
Dessert menu makes you want to order everything and everything is amazing
Everyone was very friendly. Made me feel welcomed, and impressed my business partners. Made me look could .
Very good seafood. We were banished to a back room with only 4 or 5 tables so we did not feel like we were in the place. Oh well. The fish was generally very good although a few missteps. Oysters Rockefeller with way too much cheese. One persons fish a bit overcooked. My gripe is the value. Pretty pricey for a piece of fish on a plate. I realize there were sauces but the regular dishes at between $30 and $39 had neither vegetable nor starch. Those were $10+ add-ons. The specials we had were $43 (tuna) and $46 (Chilean sea bass) but did include a starch and were both really good. When you factor in appetizers in the $15 to $18 range, and desserts (which were fairly priced) you're looking at a big ticket. Wine was very fairly priced with an extensive selection. But when you add a moderate ($79)bottle of wine to the dinner for four, tax and tip, the bill was just a tad shy of $500.
Awesome food and ambiance! Can’t wait to go back! Excellent choice for a romantic evening!
we had a fabulous meal. good cocktails. excellent oysters on the half shell. waitstaff was attentive but not invasive. The seared scallops were superb served on steamed spinach and mashed purple potatoes. Generally some of their dishes looked like they tried to do too much and could have made them simpler. However, we avoided those and asked for our fish more dressed down. All the dishes were cooked perfectly.
The dessert was disappointing. not very tasty.
We have been to Off the Hook several times, and it's always been amazing!! The food is cooked perfectly and always delicious. Our waitress was cheerful and informative. We can't wait to go back!
Always great. Never had a bad meal here. Restaurant of choice for all our family dinners.
Everything was perfect - the cocktails were amazing- food was delicious and desserts were definitely worth the calories ! We will definitely be back
It is pricey but that is anticipated via the restaurant and its offerings.....it is lovely in all ways. The wine list was commendable.
My scallops smelled & tasted funny. I was up sick most of the night. I think I just got bad scallops
Outstanding service and food. We will definitely go back!
Stephanie was our server and was outstanding. She was on top of everything and not over barring. The swordfish Parmesan was amazing! Great wine selection as well. We'll be back...
Birthday , not good options, nosy place,
We always love coming to OTH. The service is always outstanding (imagine servers that know the menu/food without having to read it off cards!). The fish is always fresh. We were celebrating a birthday and this place always makes celebrations special!
Excellent as usual.
Food and service were very good. However, front reception desk staff are not friendly. At least have a smile.
This ruins the whole dining experience, especially when you are celebrating a special occasion, which we were. Requested a table, more than once, and, of course, we were shown to a booth. There was no one in the whole restaurant since it was early. The next guest came in, alone, and was seated at a lovely table for four.
Was excited to try Off the Hook, so went with one friend for lunch on a Monday afternoon. Our server was prompt, and courteous. He was also very knowledgeable on the menu and explained the lunch specials. I tried the fish tacos, which were too “blackened,” and took over the taste of the fish. I have tried fish tacos from all over the US, and in Mexico, and these were not worth $18. I am not dying to come back to try other menu items, especially when Pgh has so many other restaurant options.
Food was wonderful, ambiance was wonderful, Vicky- our serve- was wonderful. Great place to eat.
Great Service from Kevin. I ordered a meal I did not like (my issue, not the food), and the meal was promptly removed from the bill, and they also gave me a free dessert. Thats the exact type of service that will bring us back. All other meals and appetizers were fantastic
It was a great evening! Food and service were excellent !
Really good food and the service was excellent. The carrot cake for dessert was my favorite thing there!
I always love this place! Always good food and service. Great for dinner or happy hour.
Great meal and excellent service.
