O'Donoghue's Bar & Restaurant
Dinner: Monday - Sunday: 4:00pm - 12:00 midnight
Good food and Yuengling on draft. Had an issue at the restaurant getting my open table points but OT fixed it. The hostess didn’t have our res although I showed her the email confirmation. So double check you get your points
Service prompt, business like but not at all personable, main course arrived while still eating appetizers and plates jammed onto table by server, corned beef sandwich dry, hamburger supposed to be medium rare was medium. One and done for this restaurant.
Outstanding menu and food. It was served fresh and steaming hot. The waitress and staff were great. It seems like a great place for friends to gather. It was a perfect date night for me and he wife.
My daughter and I had 5:30 reservations and were running late. Not only did the hostess seat us right away but we were served quickly and were able to make our 7:00 show without a problem. The food was delicious and the service was great.
We were between Broadway Shows, the location was convenient to the theater. The restaurant had a nice pub feel. Good variety of food on the menu. My wife had the Chicken Pot Pie, I had the Shepard's Pie, would not hesitate to recommend either dish. If you are looking for a relaxing place to eat, that has good food and quick, pleasant service, give it a try.
Went there between part 1 and 2 of Harry Potter on a busy a Saturday in Times Square.
We got seated right away which was great.
Spinach app was not hot and too salty, same goes for my Guinness Stew. Food was nothing to crow about and our waitress wasn’t very attentive considering it wasn’t especially busy. The experience was just ok.
Great for beer, average to below average for everything else.
Good food, good service. We went pre-theatre, very convenient!
A great find!
We were seated promptly on arrival at a great table. Our server Ship was excellent. After a round of drinks we ordered dinner. Everyone in the party enjoyed the food.
We will definitely go back next time in NYC
This place was amazing!! Came here before a musical and it was great! Food and drinks were so good!
We were in New York for vacation and the food was wonderful!
Food was not prepared as ordered. Service inattentive.
Very noisy. Pleasant waitress. Good enough bar food. My Reuben had no flavor. Bizarre.
Basic Irish pub food. Nothing special. Would eat there again.
Disappointed they didn't have our Open Table reservation but they still sat us.
Went for lunch before a show. Service was good, food was very good and it was quiet, but we were there early and it wasn't crowded yet. I would definitely go there again.
Great food in a very theatre friendly location. We had Shepherds pie which tasted fantastic & huge portions. Great selection of beers. All round thoroughly recommend
It was too noisy here for us - between the music and the crowd, we couldn't hear one another, but I don't think we're the right demographic for this place. The Caesar Salad and crab cake were just OK. We wouldn't go back. But it would be fine for people who want a lively place with OK food at reasonable prices (reasonable for the Times Square area).
We were staying at a hotel across the street for a week, and ate at this restaurant four times during our stay. Each time the food and service we’re excellent. It was a great value to get a warm, grounding meal at a great price in a fun, energetic-yet-homey environment. Would definitely recommend!
Comfortable , fun place for a quick bite or slow mean. Welcoming, friendly staff and large portions all reasonably priced.
Nice place, next to Times Square. Food was good, but not outstanding. Prices like expected for a location next to Broadway and all the theatres.
Fun, comfortable spot with great, authentic Irish food. The Shepherd's pie was amazing. The servers are friendly, cordial and help make the meal pleasant. We were there for a pre-theater meal but also looked like a nice place for dinner or drinks.
Food arrived in five mins never a good sign! Sausages were reheated. Mash was awful. Staff were rude and tables too close together. Mudic so loud waitresses shouting at you. Waste of money.
Wasn't really impressed. Food was so so and service just ok.
Great fish and chips and beer and good service. Good quality for the money.
Went to O'Donoghue's for a pre-theater dinner with a group of 8, and we had a blast! Would highly recommend.
Great restaurant for a quick pre-theater meal. Good food, fast courteous service. Recommended.
Food very fresh, well prepared, reasonably priced. Had the chicken pot pie with amazing puff pastry, made on site.
We arrived 40 minutes early. She found us a table right away. The waitress was quick to take our order. The food came at a reasonable time. It was hot and delicious! And no rush to give us the check!
The hostess (Allie) was the most delightful person ever! Smiling, welcoming and is the one reason I would return.
Good restaurant for the new year eve. Very well localized if you want to celebrate countdown outside near Time Square just after dinner
Amazing service considering it was Christmas Day and the staff were run off their feet but had it so under control that you'd never have noticed and it was exactly what we (as an English gal an Irish guy) wanted for our Xmas dinner in New York! Can not praise the staff enough for such a great job and lovely experience. Would definitely recommend O'Donoghues to others.
Booked for Xmas Day as was over from the UK in NYC with the family. Picked O' Donoghue's purely at random. Turned out to be one of my better choices. Really great atmosphere, even my 14 year old son enjoyed it! Great service, and superb food and kudos for opening Xmas Day, it was packed.
When in NYC I will visit again, no doubt about it.
We visited New York for Christmas 2017, travelled from Ireland. We booked the restaurant in advance as we wanted a traditional turkey and ham dinner for Christmas Day. On the day we arrived early and were seated straightaway which was fine. My husband and I had the $45 set menu, there was no separate children's menu for our three children, aged 11yrs, 10yrs and 5 yrs so we ordered from the bar menu for them. They had chicken tenders and fries, which were ok. The Christmas menu for myself and my husband was very disappointing and very overpriced for what we got. My husband had the vol au vents for starters which were cold. We both had the turkey and ham which had been advertised as 'with all the trimmings', it basically just had a spoonful of what seemed like very processed mash and a small spoonful of green beans and carrot mash. The turkey and ham was tasteless and the whole thing tasted like some mass produced catering stuff similar to a supermarket plastic dinner. My dessert was a so called cheesecake, tasteless and synthetic and my husband's apple tart wasn't much better. We had a bottle of wine and a couple of soft drinks also and the total bill including tip came to just over $235, the tip of 18% was added on to the bill for us so we had no choice but to pay it!! Ridiculously overpriced for very poor quality and we had to tip it as well!!! We considered making a complaint before we left but our children were keen to leave and it was so busy so we just left without saying anything.
I'm sure this place is great craic for a few drinks, night out etc, just don't ever go there for Christmas Day!
Food was delicious, we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Was perfect for our date
My wife and daughters annual trip to the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park. The restaurant was close by and fit exactly what we were looking for. Good Food, excellent service and a reasonable price.
In Theatre District for a play, you have to go to O'Donoghue's! Food is homestyle, service is friendly and they will get you out for that play time!!!
fun time during happy hour. Great pricing compared to many places in New York.
A good quick pre-theater spot.
