O'donoghue's Bar and Grille is an American, Irish bar and restaurant that offers a range of hearty and gluten-free items on the menu. This traditional Irish sports bar offers crowd favorites in the appetizers section such as chicken tenders, onion rings, shrimp cocktail, mini shepherd's pie along with non-traditional seafood items such as salmon and shrimp rolls. O'donoghue's Bar and Grill's special Tri-color platter is a favorite with diners with its selection of shrimp rolls, chicken wings and sausage rolls that come with their own sides.
O'donoghue's Bar and Grill also offers Irish favorites that go down well with American diners as well. Popular items in this section include chicken pie, shepherd's pie along with corned beef and cabbage which boasts prime Angus corned beef seasoned with parsley cream sauce. The sandwiches section includes the classic chicken sandwich among others. This restaurant has closed down.
Service was awful. Food came after being there for two hours and never came back to ask for refills on our drinks. Very disappointing for Marco Island, as there are many other options better than this one.
Upon arrival they didn't have our reservation but we didn't need them because the place was only 1/2 full. Its a good place if you wish an IRISH Bar
Very disappointing experience. Horrible service from an indifferent server who didn't put orders in and we waited nearly one and a half hours for short order food.
They ran out of Ribeye and the strip was not good. Salad was terrible and Coke had no flavor. Glad I did not take a date for Valentines Day.
We genuinely liked the food and the atmosphere. The middling review is due largely to our waitress, unfortunately. She was slow and very impersonal. No eye contact whatsoever, or greetings when she eventually managed to bring us our food/drinks. Took forever to get any attention at all upon arriving (at least 10-15 minutes) and her demeanor throughout was unpleasant. The other servers and the bartenders seemed much more friendly and efficient, we were just unlucky to be stuck with ours.
Way to noisy. Even before the singer started. Good to great food. Service was ok at best. The waiter did inform us that he was very busy. Crowd to big for the staff to handle.
A fun place to eat with friends. We started with the Loaded Irish Nachos, they were very good and very filling. A great choose of beers at reasonable prices. I had a Harps. My friends had Mini Shepherd pie(S) a good choose after the Nachos. My wife had the Rueben Sandwich. I had a Corn Beef Sandwich. We all enjoyed our food. If you go on a weekend night make a reservation for they have entertainment at 7:00 PM and the place fills up early. The service staff is very good but the kitchen must be small since they can get overwhelmed.
we have eaten there a couple of times. Expensive and bad.
We went to this restaurant on a whim, looking for something casual, well glad we did. I had the Shepard pie, very tasty, my husband had the prime rib special, he also like it. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, if you are in Marco Island and looking for some place casual try it.
We had a party of four and we all had the Saturday night special, Prime rib. We all agreed that it was the best Prime rib we had had in a very long time. Due to the NCAA final 4 the noise level was elevated but bearable. Best place on Marco for a pint of Guinness.
Great location in a very happening area of Marco Island. The food was okay but more "fill" than "can't wait to eat". Maybe better for young people who are looking for a quick meal than an actual dining experience. Staff was absent most of the time. Hard to get a drink refill. They may have been understaffed that evening as all the restaurants on the island were at capacity. We will give it another try this season.
Poor service, run out of the dish we ordered, they did not offer any remedy, sorry, that was all.
We will never would go back.
We went for dinner on a Monday nite. The crowd was small but service slow...inattentive. Beer selection was very. good..prices very reasonable. We shared fish and chips which were very good. The hand cut fries were fresh and hot, not warm and soggy like most fries. Fish was hot and crispy and had a nice mild flavor. The dipping sauce could have been more flavorful. It was a little bland. Coleslaw was too creamy/oily. Salads were fresh. We would go back again even though the service was pretty slow. We liked the food and I am willing to give the service another chance.
Had the Shepard's Pie and Onion Soup and both very VERY good! Good selection of draft and bottled beers. The only thing better than the food was the service. Be sure to ask for Amanda, she is super!!!!! She was extremely attentive and very friendly.
We enjoy coming here almost every Sat. evening. Fine food, excellent waitress etc. Onc area that my wife and I comment on every time is the hostess could be friendlier. She could smile and welcome the guests. She comes across as very unfriendly and this probably is not her.
Saturday night just before St. Patrick's day. Good corned beef and cabbage. Good fish and chips. High-top seating in bar area. Restaurant tables in the back, with live Irish music and another bar. Very casual and enjoyable decent food.
We had a great lunch there. Terrific food. The Dinner however was disappointing. The "pork tenderloin" was not tenderloin but in fact was pork loin. Lots of difference. Noise level seemed a bit loud even for a pub. The live music was fine but don't try to have a conversation while they are playing.
We arrived and met our friends and as we were seated were informed that any dishes that came with potatos were not available nor were there any rolls!! No potatoes at a so called Irish Pub! That's right there signature dish which is Sheperds Pie not available, boiled dinner, nope !! I asked if the potatoe famine had hit Marco and if not why not run up to public and buy some ?! Since there were five of us and we knew we would not be able to get in any where else we stayed. Mistake. !!! The service was awful ! We needed to ask the bus boy numerous times to get our waitress. When we asked for another drink, ketchup etc....she never returned and when she did we would ask again !
Food was just okay. Fish and chips could have been much better. Fish was soggy and the fries lack luster.
Without the live Irish Music this restaurant is a disappointment. The food is overpriced for what you get. Too many better options on the Island for dinner then to return here.
As always the food was served in a timely manner. The food is served hot and always tastes very good. We always find the waitresses friendly and attentive. This has become our Saturday night destination for dinner and drinks.
The food is bland and our server was less than competent. There are so many other comparably priced restaurants on Marco Island that offer much better food and value.
I would like to commend our server, Amanda. This is the 2nd time we have had her and she is outstanding. We will ask for her in the future
We enjoyed the Irish atmosphere including the food the drinks and the music. The service was also good, helpful, friendly but not overbearing. We will go back soon.
Bad Service, Soggy French Fries. They need Crazy Jack of the Food Network too fix this place!!!!!!!!
Food was very good. Our waitress was friendly and made us feel very special. We always find this restaurant's food very good. We will definitely return.
Looking for a step above traditional bar fare? This hits the mark. Fantastic burgers and decent appetizers along with a solid list of beers makes this a good choice for casual dining.
Very LOUD live Irish music - you couldn't have a conversation at your table! Food was bland. Four onion soup tasted like it came from a can; reuben sandwich sat on the plate too long before it was delivered - very soggy on one side and not very good. Wait staff appeared overwhelmed and not attentive. Restaurant decor tired and old. Had high expectations of good pub food, watching a great hockey game, and relaxing. Instead, we ate quickly, and left as soon as possible. There are plenty of other options on the Island - would not recommend this establishment.
Food an service were good. Live music too loud. Made it very hard to cart on a conversation. When mentioned to server we were told they are aware but cannot do anything about it,
It's a brilliant idea to have app sized shepherds pie. It is delicious too,
Bartender Gavin excellent customer service!
We eat there every time we visit the Island
We had reservations although the restaurant was pretty empty. Hostess was nice and sat us right away. We waited with our menus while two waitresses sat and talked with customers at the bar and at a nearby table. After being ignored for 10-12 minutes we got up and left.
Great Irish Music, but a little loud. Good food, friendly waitress. Good location to walk to from many hotels and condos.
Excellent food. Friendly and attentive wait staff.
A very noisy place in that we had a hard time with ANY table conversation
Food was not bad, but nothing special either.
Service was awful, soup and salad cane after the dinners, no spoons were served with the soup, no ketchup or mustard served, I had to get up and get from the service table after a passing waitress, not ours refused to bring some saying 'I'm not your waitress'. The musicians was so loud you could not hear the person next to you. The food was good and I know they are getting settled in to their new location but I won't be back this year.
Very bad food, poor service. Arrogant management. But perhaps that is what you get when you're the only Irish restaurant in town. STAY AWAY!!
Wonderful Irish food and drink. Live music makes you want to sing along, makes you part of the energy!
Food was good. VERY noisy due to tables being in bar area. Next time would probably go at lunchtime in hopes of more tolerable noise level.
Frequent visitor. Fun, Irish Pub environment. Food, as always, very good. Service was marginal.
