British
One of London's original dining rooms having opened in 1978, and it is still an acclaimed restaurant now owned by Welsh chef Bryn Williams, set amongst a parade of mid-Victorian shops and cafes in beautiful Primrose Hill.
Bryn's modern British menu is an innovative marriage of textures and flavours that reflect his personality and heritage: dishes are created using the finest produce sourced from his native Wales and the rest of the UK.
Lunch and dinner is served seven days a week in the Odette's split level dining room, walled garden and terraced seating area.

Absolutely beautiful lunch, amazing food, a gorgeous venue and friendly - but not overly-friendly staff, and would go again in a heartbeat.

We went on a Tuesday night and it was quite quiet in the restaurant, which was fine for us but slightly lacked atmosphere.

We both thought the food and the service were excellent. It is a really great, neighbourhood restaurant.

It is probably the best restaurant in Camden/Primrse Hill/Hampstead in terms of the food.

The food was amazing. All 6 of us enjoyed each course. The only negative was the wine. We ordered a bottle of Gavi only to be told that they only had one bottle. For our second bottle we ordered a Petti Chablis and when we tried to order a third they didn’t have any cold ones. Not really what you would expect from a restaurant on a Friday evening.

Still my favourite restaurant in London.

We went for their 11 year anniversary set menu lunch on Saturday 12th October 2019. It was delicious, as expected, and such great value (as it always is anyway) but this offer meant it was 2 courses for £11, or three courses for £16. The pudding we had (chocolate mousse with raspberries and stout cake) was out of this world.

The staff are always lovely, and it's such a great little spot.

Highly recommend!

It was my husbands birthday so a special occasion. The food was beautifully presented but somewhat lacked flavour. Rather disappointing for the price.

The only negative was the table was diagonal from the doorway so there was a cold draft each time the door was open which was often.
We will go again but will request a table away from the door.

Lovely restaurant. Food was great, except the cod which was over cooked. Two of our wine picks were sold out, but in the end we had a beautiful bottle. Service was friendly, but a bit hit-and-miss. We arrived 15 minutes early and were told to have a drink outside, but no one every turned up to take a drink order.

Have always enjoyed Odette's for dinner and lunch is just as wonderful -- the portions are perfect and the quality of the food is extremely high. Unbelievable that they can produce such a sophisticated and perfectly presented meal for only 20 pounds. Wonderful service, superlative food.

Really lovely evening was had for this family meal celebrating a special occasion. We were given a private room which was very thoughtful as we had a baby in a pushchair with us so we had plenty room. We chose the tasting menu with wine pairing and everyone agreed it was excellent.

Disappointed theatre we couldn’t sit in the garden as I had called a few days before to discuss this. Maybe that’s why I thought the inheritor was a bit gloomy for a lunch? Great value and high quality lunch menu. I will dismiss the comments made by some of my fellow dinners about portion size and they were unreasonable. Service was a bit hesitant. Overall, we really enjoyed. Thank you.

The food at Odettes was delicious and really good value. We had the set menu and I can’t fault it. The sweet corn soup was particularly good. We went at 230 on a Sunday for a later Sunday lunch. Our waiter was very nice and efficient but I can’t say that the host/ head waiter was very friendly. He seemed rather annoyed that we were still there at 415 drinking wine. Given it’s a Sunday lunch in London this seemed a little weird.

Despite this, I would definitely recommend Odette’s. Probably more of a winter place because it is quite dark inside.

We booked so we could have the early evening meal and I went ahead, prior to colleagues arriving. The meal was to be ordered prior to 19.00 and I had already got menu choices from the team. We sat down just prior to 19.00 and ordered drinks, as you do when dining.... We then went to give our order and was told we were unable to have that menu as it was 19.03. I pointed out that I had been there for sometime and we started our order prior to 19.00. After pushing back on this and a senior member of the team talking to the waiter, he went to ask the chef if he would still serve off the menu we wished. He said yes and I handed over the list with the food we had pre-ordered over. This put a real downer on the evening and the waiter was very clear in his displeasure towards our group. The food was very good, though the extremely poor service made for uncomfortable dining. I have been here before and we went here due to my recommendation. I'm not sure I would recommend again.....

We had a pleasant Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the first class food. Unfortunately service was a bit hit and miss at times and I think they need to dot the I's and cross the t's to make this restaurant what it should be.

Food - delicious, imaginative, thoughtful, fresh ingredients with interesting combinations. I had cod which was possibly the freshest and best produced cod I’ve ever eaten in a long life. My husband's Welsh lamb was carefully cooked and beautifully presented.
Service - the waiters and staff work really hard. I don’t mean to say they seem harassed or make diners feel uncomfortable, I mean that I watched them keep on top of all requests and orders in a quiet efficient way but it was hard work.
Our waiter’s wine suggestions were thoughtful and went well with our food. My husband knows much about wine but likes to try other people’s suggestions. This is sometimes not a good idea as he would have chosen better but last night we were pleased with the suggestions.
Our seats were comfortable and the room comfortingly old fashioned by which I mean that wall coverings and carpets on the floor cut down the echo of the buzz of conversation so that those who are becoming a little deaf can hear and take part in conversation.

At first, I was put off by what I expected may be the stilted atmosphere of an established, traditional English restaurant in a fancy part of London. I tried it anyway, partly because if a restaurant lasts 20 years in this city, it is likely worth trying, and partly because the summer menu was great value at 3 courses (and a glass of prosecco) for £35. I am really glad that I did. We sat outside until it got a little chilly and then moved inside. No fuss was made about the request to move, which endeared me immediately. We had delicious generous glasses of ice-cold bubbly (not something one can bank on) served with a little surprise of a rich and creamy cheese-filled choux amouse-bouche. I do love an amuse-bouche.

Then came freshly baked soda bread and butter. Call me old fashioned, but for me, a restaurant without a bread basket is a Pret. Even more Pret-esque to be charged for it.

Our waiter happily discussed the menu with me, and I am admittedly a question-filled patron(ess). He recommended the cheaper dish - another rare occurrence. The food was all the good parts of traditional (quality ingredients, balanced sauces, tried and tested combinations) with a welcome twist to shake off the boring (chicken leg served in the style of duck confit; panna cotta served in the style of a mousse with berry sorbet).

My highlight was two dishes. The first was the crab starter. Dense brown-meat paté (or was it mousse?) topped with shredded white meat. The freshness of the dish really allowed the subtle sweetness of the crab to take centre stage. It was also a rather generous portion, creatively plated and served in a rustic earthy bowl. So luxurious.

The second highlight was the pork cheek croquette (they call it pig's head, but I can't quite stomach typing that, though I had no problem stomaching the dish). Balanced; not too salty; decadently creamy and crunchy at the same time. I'm happy to get behind top to tail dining if this is what it tastes like.

We'll be back!

Odette’s was a joy. We had an early evening supper. Our particular needs were catered for effortlessly. They have a ‘can do’ attitude which is very refreshing. The food was fabulous. The gluten free options totally delicious.. home made GF bread is a rare find. My only comment would be that I’m not sure passion fruit cream needs chocolate!
