Absolutely amazing place we come over and over again with local and out of town friends. Great food and ambience and amazing wine list. Samantha who helps us with seating and reservation is amazing person who is always responsive and gracious

Octavia is superb in every way. It is pricey, but worth every penny. The menu is very eclectic, and the flavors wonderful. We had a real dining experience_____2 and 1/2 enjoyable hours. All the dishes were described by either our marvelous waiter, Kevin, or a deliverer. Kevin apologized for the delay in our entree, which actually we didn’t mind, and comped us a delectable salad to share. A great evening all around.

Valentine’s menu was unimpressive. My favorite was the salad. The wagyu was chewy. The forbidden rice desert was less than average. It was my first time at Octavia. I need to go try their regular menu that my serious foodie friends laud.

We went there excited to try out the tasting menu, which consisted of 4 courses. Our reservation was at 6:00 pm and by 8:00 we still hadn't even received the 3rd course - there were 30 minutes between the time the servers cleared our plates to the time they brought the next course. We looked around and saw a distribution of other customers experiences - some were int he same boat as us, but others were getting their courses more quickly so it was inconsistent. The kitchen looked extremely backed up and by 8:00 diners were lined up around the walls waiting to be seated but the tables were all full due to the delay. We asked for our desserts to be wrapped up but then were told it would be ice cream so we said nevermind, we would wait. Then 20 minutes later our check came with our dessert to go. We didn't feel like dealing with the back and forth so we left. All in all, just a disappointing experience.

A bit of a limited menu, but dishes are well done and delicious made with fresh ingredients.
Would definitely return to Octavia.

Great food, but the day we went on a Sunday night had super slow service. 2hr 45 mins for our meal. Largest gap from last appetizer to main entree was 50 mins.

Had dinner with friends in the City and start to finish was first rate.
Service superb and Kevin, who served us was just great.
The food was outstanding. We had several
App’s all well prepared and tasty and the rib eye was absolutely killer
We brought our own wine and wine service
Great as well
I think this place is great .
One of my best dining experiences of the last
Couple of years
I look forward to a return visit soon

An outstanding neighborhood restaurant for any occasion. Extremely friendly and welcoming - all the staff seemed happy. Each dish was very good to exceptional. Limited, thoughtful menu of seasonal tastes. No complaints whatsoever.

Single opportunity to eat in San Francisco, this location was our choice. Top notch food. We shared tasting menus. Highlights included melt-in-your-mouth salmon with crispy skin, beef terrine, beet tortellini, and the black sesame ice cream with miso cake. Halibut tartare needed more salt to bring out the fabulous citrus flavors, and the salad with creme fraiche was unremarkable. Would gladly go back.

Excellent dinner. Innovative dishes. Standouts included the deviled egg, paparadelle, beef terrine, and miso pond cake with black sesame ice cream. Tasting menu is a good introduction to their style and a good value.

You can order carafes (half bottle) of some wines which is a nice option. Great service but not pretentious. Casual and gracious.

Service here is outstanding... too bad the kitchen doesn’t match it. I felt most of the dishes were over spiced and overpriced. For me this was the second disappointment. However, luckily the folks with me weren’t so critical but they didn’t pickup the tab. I highly recommend their sister restaurant, Frances, which is outstanding on every level.

I really enjoyed the food at Octavia. We had the deviled egg, gem salad, sunchokes, filet and salmon. All dishes were great. We finished with a deconstructed carrot cake, which was strange but good.

The tasting menu special was exquisite. Every course was better than the last. If they have this special when you go, I'd recommend it.

Be sure to get bread either way. The deviled eggs, pappradel pasta, salmon and steak were wonderful.

The staff was wonderful as well. The way they worked together was nice to see and they are all very friendly.

Overall a lovely experience and fantastic meal.

This was my first time at Octavia and my friend and I partook in the tasting menu. I have to say at $70 this is the best value I’ve ever had for the money at a fine dining establishment! Every dish was WOW delicious and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. We left completely stuffed and content. Highly recommend!
