Lunch was good. However, chop chop salad did not have mango or oranges as advertised...just cabbage, peas and carrots!
great service, great location. ate there for lunch and dinner. lunch was fabulous, food was delicious. dinner was good the swordfish was perfect however the other 3 meals were ok. the atmosphere was great and the entire staff were super friendly and accomodating
Great for seafood and nice ocean views. If you're not staying at the hotel, it's not easy to get in--best to use valet service.
We had lunch on Mother's day and liked it so much we returned for dinner!
Food was just ok for price
The room was decorated with beach decor. Wait staff very congenial. I had to send my steak back twice. Steakhouse shut on Sundays so we had to pick a different restaurant. Food somewhat pricey for quantity you had on your plate. Typical of a resort.
The poolside/Oceanside cafe is very nice. The service and food are quite good. The views exceptional. The only issue I ever have going there is getting thru the front gate of the Omni. The security folks are quite possibly the rudest and angriest people on earth. You will be rewarded once thru the gate, but these security folks all seem to be trained to be nasty jerks.
Good food, drinks were great, beautiful restaurant. Wait staff was
Easy to make a reservation. The waiter didn’t know the menu too well. Wine selection was good. Food could be much better.
My friends and I came to Oceanside before our prom. The decor was beautiful and elegant. The staff was friendly and professional. The food came in smaller portions than expected but, nevertheless, was tasty and surprisingly filling! The dessert menu is highly worth the price.
Service was just short of horrific. It was about 20 minutes before anyone came to wait on us, and that was only after we asked about it. After we ordered, it took way too long to get the food. Bottom line is, we went in for a semi-quick lunch, which ended up taking an hour and a half.
We were very disappointed with our dining experience here. We had had lunch the day before which was good. The staff seemed overwhelmed - I had to ask 3 times to get a napkin and cutlery. My daughter’s meal was missing a component and, rather than mention that they had run out of it, they just served it without it. There were no real apologies either. Even the check took a long time to come. We were next to a family who had waited for 1.5 hours for their meal. Not impressed - hopefully it was just a bad night.
We've been here several times and the food is usually awesome. Our shrimp, she crab soup and calamari were excellent. The swordfish was bland this time and the service was terrible.
Had dinner here on Easter Sunday. Ambiance was nice, servers and staff were friendly but the food was sub par. Portions were a bit on the small side. I ordered the calamari and it was absolutely the worst calamari ever! It tasted like it had been fried in the lunch time french fry grease. I took a couple of bites and tried to make myself like it, but it wasn’t happening. The restaurant manager came out and apologize and they removed the calamari from my bill. Probably won’t be back here for dinner, way too pricey for just non fabulous foods
Chicken wasn’t cooked all the way and took forever for our meals. Ambiance was nice. Did comp the chicken and a dessert. Dessert was good but huge. Split one 4 ways. Wear a sweater if it’s chilly because they keep the doors open.
Great experience- delicious food and attentive server. Will be going back!
We had outdoor seating so the noise from the pool areas was a bit much. Wish we had an umbrella as the sun was still very strong at 5:00 pm. Food was great, service was good. We would go again.
I made a reservation for Easter lunch. The view and staff were great, but the food was horrible. The jerk chicken was half cooked. The burger had no seasoning. The drinks were overpriced. The plantains were fresh out of the package.
The wine, cocktail and soup we ordered were not available. Our server was Jaylynn and he tried to make up for the kitchens issues but appetizers, salads and entrees all came out at the same time. Our first night of vacation should have been relaxing but was not. The food was pretty good when we finally got it but the restaurant was obviously not prepared for a busy holiday weekend.
Anyone who knows me knows I will give 5 star reviews and major thanks when deserved, and go out of my way to send out positive reviews and compliments when warranted - this was certainly not the case with Oceanside.
I booked this reservation for a nice dinner with my family and parents who came to visit, but it quickly turned into a nightmare.
The dining room was freezing; drinks were ok but not worth $13 and tasted watered down; the calamari appetizer was a huge portion but mediocre - perhaps the portion size was to make up for how measly the "surf and turf" was - $34 for 2 scallops, about 2 oz. of short rib, and literally 2 small pieces of ravioli, all cold and sub-par. My daughter's grilled cheese had almost no cheese on it whatsoever and the bread was stale and burnt; I never thought I would ever have a need to want to send back grilled cheese but made the attempt to our waiter, but through it all he looked and sounded like he was stoned the whole time and wasn't much help at all.
I was shaking my head as I signed the check for over $300 for one of the worst meals I've ever had. We love the Omni; but if you want decent food stick to Falcon's Nest or go off property but definitely stay away from this place.
Fun environment with beautiful ocean view. The food was not great though and they were out of several menu items. Our server was very nice but disappeared a few times. Over all we had a nice time and I would give it another try.
Steak was expensive but had no flavor. Not enough variety on the menu - especially for vegetarians. Atmosphere was very nice.
Staff was not knowledgeable about the menu at all. Also, apps and dinner dishes got mixed up so half the table finished eating before the other half received dinner.
Meal for 4 and spent close to $400.
The meal was just OK, best selection was the shrimp appetizer.
The service was the absolute worst. It was as if the waitress was moved from house cleaning to the restaurant 5 minutes before we arrived.
It took forever to get drinks, she had no knowledge of the menu/drink menu.
We were supposed to get bread at the table which wasn't provided.
We ordered the surf & turf with pork. She asked how we preferred it to be done? Never heard of a rare/medium/well done pork before?
It took two and a half hours to finish.
Deserts were good.
Wonderful food and service. Beautiful views! Intimate setting. Great service.
I wanted to leave the food rating blank, because we didn’t stay long enough to eat. Opentable won’t let me leave a review unless I rate the food.
We made a reservation, when we showed up they seem surprised and unprepared as if they weren’t really even open.
Our waiter didn’t know anything about the menu, when asked if the barbecue was wet or dry, he said something about it being in between. Right.
The previous evening, we have eaten at Veranda, which is affiliated with the Omni resort although it requires a shuttle ride to get there. Veranda was great, happy to recommend.
So the following evening, we decided we didn’t want to actually leave the Omni, hence the reservation at Oceanside. From the moment we walked in. The experience was disappointing.
The four of us sat at our table with our water and breas and eventually decided that we didn’t want to waste the last day of our vacation at a lackluster restaurant. We got up, walked out and went to Salt at the Ritz Carlton.
Paradise Valley, Arizona
The food was all properly served and plated. I ordered the Mussels but when I asked for Mussel forks the staff said they never heard of such a thing and could only give me a dessert fork. Honestly???/ A restaurant that specializes in seafood with a staff that never heard of Mussel forks?
Service carries over from the hotel pool into the evening. Ambiance is okay, not great.
Staff seemed VERY inexperienced. Lot of confusion over delivery of food. Your staff did not appear to be well trained. Waitress very friendly but generally unavailable. We will not return or recommend. Also very LOUD.
This restaurant is inside the Omni at Amelia Island, a short walk out toward the ocean from the Hotel Lobby. It was a cold weekend in Florida, so eating outside was not on the agenda, but if the weather allows, it is a wonderful setting, with either the dunes and ocean or the hotel pool as backdrop. However, the view from inside is still pretty spectacular, and the restaurant is cozy and comfortable. The staff were great, attentive without hovering, and our food was excellent. We were hungry, but not famished, and so our waiter was glad to have us split the Caesar salad - no split charge. We had a good time, enjoyed the food and the service. I would go again, and would recommend it to friends. Thanks.
Very limited menu selections. Disappointed to find so few items we had to cobble together our meal and have appetizers as our main choice. Service was very slow and prices were high. our table was uncomfortable and missing a glass top so we had to be very careful after each bite as our cutlery fell through the wide slats.
Nice room with an ocean view. The menu was varied and our meals well prepared. Good service.
Sherise was fantastic waitress. Food and beachside location made an excellent luncheon
Excellent waitress!! Food was amazing. Getting those extra desserts on the house made a lasting impression. Omni is the best!!
We were asked if we were celebrating anything, and we did affirm that , #75 for my wife.
Nothing done regarding that.
Business dinner with colleagues. Minimal ambiance. Food was overpriced, pedestrian, and very small portions. Seafood seemed fresh but menu description did not match dish. Seemed like dealers choice in the kitchen. A poor showing for an Omni property. Would not recommend.
I recommend this restaurant if you like seafood. They don't have much else on the menu. What we had was VERY good, however, we were very limited to a few things that weren't seafood. The view was amazing! I uploaded the moon over the water from our table.
Overcast day but great to be on the ocean listening to the waves rolling in. Our server was delightful. Kitchen was a bit slow, but hey, you're on vacation! Good margaritas and very tasty and interesting food choices.
I asked for a surprise dessert with a candle for a birthday . We ordered our desert and nothing came with it. They tried to rectify the situation but it was too late after a terrible dinner that was a bit too over priced.
Fantastic view with excellent seafood. I recommend sitting next to the water.
