Oceanside at Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort
The staff were so friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the surrounding were so relaxing. We were regulars during our stay.
Terrible food and weird menu at high prices. Weird furniture, too.
The location on the ocean is so nice that I really wish I could give it 5 stars. But the food is nothing to write home about, good but not great. I go there anyway because I like the atmosphere but usually stick to shrimp cocktail (which is pricey but really good) and burgers. I experimented with salmon sticks over a tiny arugula salad yesterday, which I’d rate a B.
Wonderful ocean views with outdoor dining. Fabulous service provided by Tanesha
We had a beach “pail” which cost $39 and was supposed to include lobster, and didn’t until we asked
Overall expensive for the food that was provided
Seating lady seemed disinterested in getting us to a seat. We were left waiting with no instructions - then it was a series of super uncoordinated stuff.
Server had no idea about what “vegetarian” includes - and then she got us something but food tasted stale. Thankfully their manager showed up and suggested a cool vegetarian dish that is not in menu but could be made. That saved the day for us.
Interestingly, hotel guests weren’t given cool seats as those were reserved for Open table - I wasn’t one of those guests. I went online and booked a table for the same time and got a table. Terrible!!
The food was very poor and had to be sent back multiple times. The oysters were the worst I've ever had. To their credit the manager was very possible and friendly and the shass made a nice effort to provide complimentary desserts and was very kind
Nice menu, not good food. The restaurant does not match the quality of the resort itself.
We chose to sit inside and still enjoyed the view. The food and service were spectacular!
Showed up on time for reservation. Was seated and given water. No waiter or waitress showed up for twenty minutes. Walked out, horrendous service.
Disappointed in the menu as being more pool side and less formal considering the promised level quality. We were disappointed.
Staff was incredibly friendly. I have a dairy issue which was accommodated without a problem
Pleasant surprise for being part of a hotel. You felt like you were in a restaurant by the sea with gorgeous views. And the fire pit after dinner was grand!
Great food and atmosphere
Service was very good, ambience was excellent. We enjoyed the calamari as our appetizer. The grilled seafood plate and the half lobster were both excellent. And the keylime pie and mango sorbet were great to cap off our meals.
We had a wonderful lunch in a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean - hard to beat that! Our meals were very good, and our waitperson was efficient and charming. And, this was a really nice surprise - we wanted to try the crab soup (don't miss it!) and asked for one bowl and two spoons. Instead, the MANAGER (not our waitress) delivered the soup and had split it into two cups to make it easier for us! Now that is service!
It was a good experience except for paying $4.00 for a glass of milk to go...:(
Excellent service and the filet (as recommended by the server) was wonderful!
When we tried to make reservations your site told us there were no tables. The resort was no help whatsoever. We tried again in the afternoon and were given four minutes to make a decision. We took the seven pm time. We arrived and the place was virtually empty!!! Even so we were given a table by the kitchen door. The waitress arrived and told us what you didn’t have on the menu. We wanted the lobster but not the whole thing so the waitress suggested two lobster tails. Twenty five minutes later we received ONE lobster tail cut in half with virtually nothing else on the plate for $37.00!!! After eating at Bobs the night before the Oceanside was a huge disappointment. I will never go back nor recommend it to my friends who travel frequently. Get your act together!!!
Very good food and fun New Year’s Eve event!
Sat inside, did have some comfortable chairs in the restaurant, but not ours. They were horrible. The tables have slats that allow silverware to fall through. Not a place for dinner. Would go back for lunch.
Great waitress...very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Best to eat early in the day or the season when views would be great. Beef tenderloin was excellent
Enjoyed our dinner here in Christmas evening. Waitress was wonderful and friendly. We overdressed-it was very casual. Also it was cold and windy that day and each time they door was opened the room got colder and colder. Never warmed up by the time we left. Otherwise we would have given 5 stars.
I took my daughter here for her 17th birthday. She has anxiety and was afraid to go. But once we got there everyone was so nice and inviting we were relaxed and enjoyed our dinner. The filet mignon was so delicious. My daughter loved her grilled chicken salad also. We ordered key lime pie to go. It was also amazing. Our waitress Kendra made us so comfortable. I want to thank her. We will definitely go back.
Bring your umbrella if it rains, there is no covered walkway to get to/from the restaurant.
Wonderful experience to try something different on Thanksgiving. Great food and service!
Poor quality food for the price
We enjoyed everything except the drinks were watered down a lot and you couldn't taste the alcohol in the drinks we bought
Good food with excellent service but it was very quiet so not sure what it would be like on a busy night. The staff were very friendly- it was raining so they got us some towels to hide under as we dashed back to the hotel, which was much appreciated
Our waiter Justin was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the area was beautiful!! We were offered to sit outside at a table for 6, but we were only 2, and are not inconsiderate people. We did not want to take up a big table. Inside was beautiful and relaxing!
We ate inside and noise level is high. Seasoned fries are excellent as was the service.
Ambience by the ocean was great to hear the surf. Wee bit windy but comfortable. Pretty crowded but still able to hold a conversation much better than inside most restaurants.
Service was very good with friendly staff from Jamaica who were attentive and conversational.
Food was very good but a bit slow coming from the kitchen. Good value for the quality and size of the portions.
Beautiful surroundings with great drinks. The food and value was fair. Service was excellent very attentive,
Very basic, just a cafe, the whole Omni Plantation is over-hyped
We had a great dinner at Oceanside during our visit to the Omni resort in Amelia Island. The food was very good and the service was excellent.
Very pricey, ordinary food. It took 10 minutes to get through the gate, even though we had reservations.
$ 78.27 for two drinks and two appetizers plus $13.00 parking, won't be coming back. And we are local.
We live on the Amelia Island Plantation, so the Omni is close to our home. Even with all the other great restaurants in Fernandina Beach, the Omni's Oceanside Grill is always my go-to favorite place for a special birthday or anniversary or just to take out-of-town visitors whenever the weather is warm and nice. It couldn't provide a better setting with the lovely ocean view. The food and service are always top flight.
This is a glorified poolside cafe. So misleading when you read the menu and look at the online pictures of the space. I was so disappointed because we were celebrating a special birthday. The calamari app seemed like frozen food. And I ordered a $32 filet at a poolside “ restaurant” and I could have made it better at home. The people eating just outside in their bathing suits had the same menus.
We didn't know what this restaurant was but thought it was a bit more elegant according to the menu. We assumed with such a nice menu that the place would be fancier. The dining was all outside and there were no tables available for us so we sat and ate inside but the entire time we dined we were alone in the dining room. Felt more cafeteria like. Service was spotty. The biggest bummer of the night was when he dining staff started cleaning and prepping the tables for the next day!! It was obnoxious and loud and make us feel unwelcome.
