Meal for 4 and spent close to $400.
The meal was just OK, best selection was the shrimp appetizer.
The service was the absolute worst. It was as if the waitress was moved from house cleaning to the restaurant 5 minutes before we arrived.
It took forever to get drinks, she had no knowledge of the menu/drink menu.
We were supposed to get bread at the table which wasn't provided.
We ordered the surf & turf with pork. She asked how we preferred it to be done? Never heard of a rare/medium/well done pork before?
It took two and a half hours to finish.
Deserts were good.
Wonderful food and service. Beautiful views! Intimate setting. Great service.
I wanted to leave the food rating blank, because we didn’t stay long enough to eat. Opentable won’t let me leave a review unless I rate the food.
We made a reservation, when we showed up they seem surprised and unprepared as if they weren’t really even open.
Our waiter didn’t know anything about the menu, when asked if the barbecue was wet or dry, he said something about it being in between. Right.
The previous evening, we have eaten at Veranda, which is affiliated with the Omni resort although it requires a shuttle ride to get there. Veranda was great, happy to recommend.
So the following evening, we decided we didn’t want to actually leave the Omni, hence the reservation at Oceanside. From the moment we walked in. The experience was disappointing.
The four of us sat at our table with our water and breas and eventually decided that we didn’t want to waste the last day of our vacation at a lackluster restaurant. We got up, walked out and went to Salt at the Ritz Carlton.
Paradise Valley, Arizona
The food was all properly served and plated. I ordered the Mussels but when I asked for Mussel forks the staff said they never heard of such a thing and could only give me a dessert fork. Honestly???/ A restaurant that specializes in seafood with a staff that never heard of Mussel forks?
Service carries over from the hotel pool into the evening. Ambiance is okay, not great.
Staff seemed VERY inexperienced. Lot of confusion over delivery of food. Your staff did not appear to be well trained. Waitress very friendly but generally unavailable. We will not return or recommend. Also very LOUD.
This restaurant is inside the Omni at Amelia Island, a short walk out toward the ocean from the Hotel Lobby. It was a cold weekend in Florida, so eating outside was not on the agenda, but if the weather allows, it is a wonderful setting, with either the dunes and ocean or the hotel pool as backdrop. However, the view from inside is still pretty spectacular, and the restaurant is cozy and comfortable. The staff were great, attentive without hovering, and our food was excellent. We were hungry, but not famished, and so our waiter was glad to have us split the Caesar salad - no split charge. We had a good time, enjoyed the food and the service. I would go again, and would recommend it to friends. Thanks.
Very limited menu selections. Disappointed to find so few items we had to cobble together our meal and have appetizers as our main choice. Service was very slow and prices were high. our table was uncomfortable and missing a glass top so we had to be very careful after each bite as our cutlery fell through the wide slats.
Nice room with an ocean view. The menu was varied and our meals well prepared. Good service.
Sherise was fantastic waitress. Food and beachside location made an excellent luncheon
Excellent waitress!! Food was amazing. Getting those extra desserts on the house made a lasting impression. Omni is the best!!
We were asked if we were celebrating anything, and we did affirm that , #75 for my wife.
Nothing done regarding that.
Business dinner with colleagues. Minimal ambiance. Food was overpriced, pedestrian, and very small portions. Seafood seemed fresh but menu description did not match dish. Seemed like dealers choice in the kitchen. A poor showing for an Omni property. Would not recommend.
I recommend this restaurant if you like seafood. They don't have much else on the menu. What we had was VERY good, however, we were very limited to a few things that weren't seafood. The view was amazing! I uploaded the moon over the water from our table.
Overcast day but great to be on the ocean listening to the waves rolling in. Our server was delightful. Kitchen was a bit slow, but hey, you're on vacation! Good margaritas and very tasty and interesting food choices.
I asked for a surprise dessert with a candle for a birthday . We ordered our desert and nothing came with it. They tried to rectify the situation but it was too late after a terrible dinner that was a bit too over priced.
Fantastic view with excellent seafood. I recommend sitting next to the water.
Ordered “surf & turf” which consisted of a small short rib, two mushroom ravioli, and two nice sized scallops. A simple dish; but, not the best execution. Short rib had a good flavor; but, was only lukewarm and not tender. Ravioli also had a good flavor; but, was lukewarm and the edges were tough. The scallops were very nice; but, also lukewarm. My wife had the bbq ribs which appeared to be baked and glazed. The meat was dry and nowhere close to falling off the bone and glazed with a spicy citrus sauce. The ribs arrived on a bed of corn which was very good: but, again lukewarm.
My daughter and I spent a week at the Omni as her senior year trip last week. The first night we arrived, I booked a table at Oceanside, the only dinner option available in the hotel building. It is a short walk across the pool deck to this lovely waterfront location. There is both deck and indoor seating, as well as an outdoor bar. During the day, this is the poolside restaurant, and at night it transitions to a dressy casual dinner service. We were seated inside and waited on by 4 different people over the course of the evening. The food selections were a short menu and since we were not terribly hungry, we asked to each have a salad (she had the beet, I had the burrata) and to share a swordfish entree. The waitress seemed annoyed at this request and said it was too small of an entree to feed 2 people. What we'd really been looking for was a salad that you could add grilled chicken or fish to, so I assured her this would be plenty. In fact, it was. Both our salads were fine... nice hotel fine, not extraordinary. The swordfish was served rare (my bad, I like it cooked through, but didn't think to ask), and on a bed of farro. I cook farro all the time at home and this was still crunch. While the grain has more body than rice, it isn't supposed to actually be hard and crunchy... it was basically still raw. We didn't complain because we'd mostly just ordered it for the fish, which was okay, and because the service was so slow and the wait staff seemed annoyed with other tables' requests. We were tired and just wanted to go home. I would not make an effort to go back, although the setting for the restaurant really can't be beat.
Ravioli came out cold on the inside. The short ribs had been sitting for awhile too. They were not hot. The server did make it up to us by bringing drinks and another dish. They took off a portion of our bill for the inconvenience.
On vacation, we ate at Oceanside last night. Our waiter and his “assistant “, recently come from Jamaica for the season, couldn’t have been more pleasant, helpful and attentive. My husband and I both had the salt prawns which were very good but a little drier than I would have liked. Our son had chicken fingers which were fine. The Cesar salad was very nice (my son and I split it) and my boys had vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert. The manager checked with us two times, very pleasant. Thanks.
Outstanding service, we had a wide range of ages at our table all of which had their needs met. Service was excellent. The food was good, we had the mixed grill, swordfish, prawns, she knows soup, & tomato salad. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
Upon arrival ,we were greeted by a lovely hostess who seated us on our dinner date, which happened to be on Valentines day. Once seated, we were introduced to our server and his sidekick who I assume was a new employee. After drinks were served and bread was brought, we ordered- so far so good. The order then came in a moderate amount of time. This was when our entire experience plummeted. The foods portion was nothing close to our expectations. The surf and turf, which was nowhere near the "cheapest" dish at this place, was the size of a kids meal at outback! My date, who doesn't have as nearly as big of an appetite as me, was also unpleasantly surprised about the size of our meal and made remarks about it. I would not recommend to anyone who wants a decent sized meal of any sort. On a side note, I also would like it to be known that we were both below eighteen years of age. Whether that was an impact on our meal or not I do not know, but I have experienced something similar due to age.
Had the surf and turf, very good, roasted beet salad was wonderful. Very enjoyable night.
Christmas Day Special
Had a great experience - service was exceptional and our meals were excellent.
The restaurant heater did not work well. Cold inside...had to eat with my jacket on. Food OK
Nice ambience, decor and good food
Girl's kick off December holiday lunch. Great Cosmo's at bar (thanks Crystal)- lovely poolside lunch. Everyone enjoyed their order. Crab dip appetizer is fantastic. Chef was kind enough to come out and give us the recipe. Can't beat the view or ambience on a warm day.
Absolutely awful service. Restaurant was not busy at all and there were multiple servers. Waitress couldn't describe items on menu. We had to ask for a refill on our water and still waited 15min. Had to ask for the bill, which took another 20min to pay.
Service was excellent for my husbands birthday. Had swordfish and shrimp to start. Very good. We will be back!
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. To their credit our meal was free.
We didn’t think our dinner would be as amazing it was because of the size of the location and where it was. Holy cow we’re we wrong. From the bread to the desert everything was absolutely amazing. We are staying an extra night at the Omni and plan to go there two days in a row! Great job Oceanside
Service is usually good but on the last occasion, it was poor. Food is good and of consistent quality, however the menu rarely changes. Pleasant ocean view location, easy parking.
Really enjoyed our lunch on the Oceanside outside tables. Perfect day and temperature and we had a wonderful waiter that catered to our every need. We enjoyed our meal very much. Will definitely go there again.
We ate here while staying at the Omni. Made 7pm reservations, but they were gracious to welcome us 30 minutes early.
Fabulous waiter! Sorry if I got the name wrong (Alex, I think). Attentive and personable. So happy to create us non-alcoholic beverages.
The Red Quinoa with Roasted Corn and Mushrooms was outstanding. The New York Strip with Mashed Potatoes just as good.
But the Honey Crusted Ice Cream Sundae was an absolute surprise! A never ending bowl of vanilla ice cream and crispy toffee treat and drizzled with a caramel sauce!
Definitely worth trying. I imagine it's very busy at times. We were lucky to enjoy it on the quiet side. Thank you!
The food was good, over priced, but to be expected at an Omni. It was the service that was completely underwhelming. It took our waiter 10 minutes to come to the table, it look another to get a drink and place our order. The food was fast to come out, my order was wrong, but an easy fix and it was all tasty. The biggest issue was that after our food was delivered, that was the last time we saw our waiter! Need another drink? Too bad. Want to order dessert? Not happening. We sat there for 20 minutes after finishing to get our check and that was only after flagging down the waiter. I expect much, much better from the Omni, especially if they are charging $15 for a Cuban sandwich!
Nothing special about the food. Service very good, Atmosphere so-so.
Omni was wonderful! Great customer service! Can't wait to go back!
It was very overpriced for what was essentially a meal at a Chain restaurant (think Dennys). The food was mediocre at best. Disappointing for such an expensive resort.
