Oceans 5 Seafood Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed every thing from the live music, martinis and amazing seafood dishes! The sevice was great and everyone was friendly. We are definitely going back. I had the coconut martini and it was superb. My boyfriend ordered the grilled seafood dish and i had pasta with shrimp, both we’re excellent. The atmosphere is upbeat with live music on Friday night but it was still comfortable enough to carry a conversation at the table. This place is a must do!!
we have dined here numerous times and always been pleased. we came in for a late lunch and sat at a high top in the bar section which is nice, cozy & quiet that time of day. service started out not very attentive, in that i had to go and retrieve menus myself - lol. the bartender was also our waiter & he was busy since he was also handling a table in the dining room & making drinks, therefore, not available for the first 15 minutes or so. anyway, not a super big deal as it is a casual atmosphere & we weren't in a rush. i was super disappointed that they decreased their martini menu by 80% - wow - what happened :-(. they always had a huge, awesome martini menu AND the martinis were always outstanding, with fresh muddled fruit. since most of them were no longer on the martini menu i tried the ocean 5 martini - it was good, but nothing like ones i have had there in the past. anyway, that was a tad more of a big deal to me -lol. i had the tuna stack (as i always do) and it was EXCELLENT, as always!! also had a sword taco (really nice option that you can order the fish of your choice for the taco)- the sword was excellent, however, the chopped greens were wilted due to the heat of the fish. overall was very good and i would order it again. hubby had the price fix - a shrimp cocktail and the cajun catfish entree. the catfish was very flavorful - delish! - and it was a large dish!! incredible value!!! nice, hidden gem - we'll be back.
Way over priced for a shopping center restaurant...I may have gone on an off night but service was slow and we waited forever for our cold food. For the prices of their food I expected greater ambiance and a men's room. Sorry I'm not use to writing such negative reviews but it's warranted here.
We went here for an early dinner. The greeter/hostess/waitress assistant was clearly distracted / in her head. Not one smile, the waiter was very good, but needed the support of the assistant, which wasn't happening. We will go again, as everyone has an off day once in a while. The food was good, the cocktails were also good, just request easy on the ice.
It was the Friday night live music that made the evening so memorable for us. While the food and wine (Long Island vineyard options!) were very good, the music made it a real evening out. The performer had a great repertoire ranging from Beatles to Simon & Garfunkel to current favorites. It was frankly amazing that just one person was able to pull off so many different songs and fill the space with a great sound. The "build your own" fish selections ensure there is something for everyone. It was busy, but not crowded and ambiance was romantic with candlelit tables. Would definitely return!
Date night so it was just 2 of us. Food was amazing but took a long time to come out. Apps took litteraly 45 min , salad another 30min, dinner another 30min and desert 45 min. Luckily we were in no hurry. Waitstaff and bus staff were friendly. A/c ducting was dripping water on us. Worst part of the meal was cheesecake which seemed frozen which was a huge letdown after all the other food being fresh and 5star quality. We had oysters , bacon wrapped scallops, calamari, king salmon and stuffed shrimp all amazing. The food definitely compensated for the negatives and would definitely recommend to anyone not in a hurry
We love this place and travel 45 minutes to eat there. We've been back a handful of times : fresh fish, friendly service and live music.. Scott is a very talented one man band! Just stay away from the pasta dishes 😝 On our most recent visit the shrimp primavera and the linguine with clams were very disappointing. The clams were poorly seasoned and the shrimp were tiny overdone marbles . We'll definitely go back but be sure to order the fish. 🐟
This was our second visit to Oceans 5; our first was on Valentine's Day and they had a fixed menu so we wanted to go back and sample their regular fare. We didn't realize it was Restaurant Week, so they were extremely busy. Although we had a reservation and we arrived exactly on time, our table wasn't ready but they were able to accommodate us very quickly. Food was average to above average, but the sound level in the dining area took away from the ambience we had hoped to experience. Overall, a pleasant experience.
Went to Oceans 5 on the recommendation of a friend. We tried the pre - fix menu during LI Restaurant week.. The fried oyster app was excellent. The light coating was crisp and the oysters were tender and moist. The tender calamari was also perfectly prepared. Both dishes were accompanied by dipping sauces that complemented each seafood app. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the scallops for a main course. The salmon was a little dry. Scallops were not overcooked. The choices for dessert were yummy. We plan to return for dinner again soon.
