Oceanos Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Disappointing anniversary dinner! The food was very good as was the service. However, it wasn't a WOW and was expensive. It was a special occasion and we didn't mind spending more, but it felt overpriced for what we ordered. My biggest complaint is that we had a table for two that was one of several lined along a banquette. We were so close to the couple next to us that I heard her entire conversation including the details of their new home, how much of a bonus she is getting and when she plans to have her toddler out of diapers! My elbow was almost touching my neighbor. My husband and I both felt that Oceanos packs them in to maximize seating but it minimized the dining experience for us.
My husband and I went to dinner on a Friday night. When we got there only 4-5 tables were occupied. When we left the restaurant was full but we never noticed since the noise level was very low. We loved our appetizer of the four spreads with pita bread. My husband had Chilean sea bass and I had the sesame salmon. Both fish dishes were cooked to perfection. We definitely will return for another superb meal.
We have never been disappointed at Oceano's. The food is well prepared and presented and delicious and the portions are very ample. The grilled octopus and the zucchini and eggplant chips are terrific. The oysters are always fresh as is the fish. The staff is knowledgeable and well trained. Well worth the money. Reservations are honored on a most timely basis. This restaurant is SUPERB!
I have been to Oceanos before and their service and food always excelent. From Stuffed Shrimp to Lobster to Steak, I have never had a bad meal there. There claims are always the freshest, however, when we did order the Little Necks this time around they were not if fact Little Necks for Cherrystone. We have always gotten Little Necks before, however, I will make sure I ask the waiter next time that if the Little Necks are not Little Necks than I do not want them. Desert is always fillling but deliecious.
Celebrated our anniversary dinner this week at Oceanos. We weathered a storm and flash flooding but made it an hour later. We were seated on the bar side of the restaurant and it was a very quiet night. The booth seating was very romantic and comfortable. The bar area is very welcoming but the food here is outstanding! We shared grilled calamari and had a zuppade pence and a white snapper special. First class service and first class food are well worth the price here. Save room for the Vesuvius dessert.
We went to Oceanos' Restaurant last Tuesday to celebrate my wife,s birthday. Our table of four thoroughly enjoyed dining at Oceanos. The cocktails, apprizers, entrees, desert.s, plate presentation, and service were outstanding.
I've been there several times and I highly recommend dining at Oceanos.
Oceanos was as good as I was expecting. I had read reviews from previous customers' experience at Oceanos and held high hopes in having a great experience and dinner. The homemade bread, mussels appetizer and main courses of soft shell crab and jumbo shrimp were more than perfect. The freshness and attention to detail in the preparation of all the food was evident. Nothing disappointed. The staff were friendly and the place offered a nice atmosphere.
The food was delicious. I personally know that they purchase the highest quality seafood available and that shines through in these dishes. We had grilled calamari, soft shell crabs and a salmon dish. Only negative is the two person seating being right in top of each other. I understand it can't be avoided sometimes, but it still makes me a bit in comfortable.
We went on a Friday evening around 6:30pm and sat outside, it was very relaxing with a running waterfall to add to the ambience. They have a cool menu with an oyster sampler that allows you to try 1 of each of their 5 different types of oyster for $15 bucks. For our entrees we had Day Boat Scallops, that came with 5-6 scallops on a bed of sautéed spinach... it was good--not great. We also had the Chilean Sea Bass which was good but nothing special. The service was very good!
It was simply the best Chilean Sea Bass I have had in a very long time. Delicate, flavorful, done to perfection. The octopus salad was done very well. Even the bread is delicious here. I will definitely be going again. I love fish and I find many restaurants do not have an extensive fish menu.
The food is outstanding. It is always fresh, delicious and perfectly prepared.
Their octopus is delicious. It is a large portion for an app and franky I could eat it as my main course. We always get it.
We also had the oysters Rockefeller. Delicious
Fish is the main entree always.
No matter what you get it is perfectly cooked.
If I had a knock it is that the rest of the plate is generally universal. A potato and veg of the day. No real choice.
But the fish is the star so what could you expect.
Great desert and cappuccinos
One of our favorite special occasion spots!
Good food but so expensive, especially considering the service.
There was a person taking our order, another delivering it (but not knowing who ordered what) and another clearing the table but, alas, no one to refill water glasses. So annoying.
Our bill came to $144. for two of us before tip. Yes, we did have a drink, appetizer, entree and desert. Our entrees were $33 and $36 each. Everything else was also up there, except the desert.
Also, there is something about the room that amplifies conversations. Each time we were there, a loud speaking guest(s) was able to allow everyone in the room to enjoy his conversation and witticisms.
So we have been here before but it will be awhile before we return.
I thought the restaurant was very overpriced. It was $170.00 a couple with one bottle of wine and a few drinks! Definitely not worth it. Manhattan prices without Manhattan ambience or quality. Service was good and staff was friendly and helpful but I wouldn't go back.
