Oceano Ratings and Reviews
This is a lovely restaurant right on the beach. Amazing ambiance. Great for a romantic evening. Great service. The food was DELICIOUS! Started with an appetizer of ropa vieja and followed it up with swordfish for me and mofongo for her. We loved every moment of our evening at Oceano.
One of the best soups I've ever had - and the only reasonably priced item in the menu - but the rest of the meal was nothing amazing and the price insane. $13 for a shot of rum! $30 for mofongo - basically a peasant dish. And parking was $10
Very windy right on the water. Lovely setting but a bit chilly! Very hip looking place, lots of beautiful people but friendly.
I took my friend to Océano to celebrate her birthday and as I expected, we had a fabulous time. The food was exquisite and the service could not have been better. I love the ambiance and the beautiful ocean view. I will continue to refer people to Oceano and will make it a point to stop by anytime I’m in Puerto Rico. This is by far one of my favorite places to go to when visiting the island.
A must try, you will not regret it!
Oceano is a spectacular space. The food was delicious - we highly recommend the snapper. The scallops were gigantic and tender, seasoned beautifully. You must save room for dessert - the key lime pie and 4 leches were standouts. Our favorite cocktail was the Lavandula. The ambiance was a struggle for us (so noisy we couldn't hear each other speak). I think we may have caught them on a bad night - they had a massive 100 person party on the second floor and it felt like a lot of resources were being directed there. Our server was a delight, but she was spread very thin - some of our food was delivered cold and a couple of the cocktails on ice were watered-down from sitting on the bar too long. Recommend and early dinner reservation if you want less chaos.
When visiting Puerto Rico, this restaurant is a "must". Food is excellent, waitstaff is very attentive, and the oceanfront view is breath-taking. Great place for a romantic brunch or dinner. A true "gem" in the heart of the Condado section of San Juan.
Will definitely make a return visit.
We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server, Giovanni, got us started with drinks and an appetizer order of churrasco egg rolls. My wife enjoyed the churrasco and I opted for the shrimp with yucca Mofongo. Only 3 shrimp, but they were mammoth, like tiny lobster rails. We also shared a salad to accompany our meal. Service was perfect. We can't wait to return and try other items on the menu.
Had dinner there January 10th. We were apprehensive due to hurricane but we need not have feared. Oceano was just as we remembered. Located right on beach, the setting was beautiful, food delicious and service first rate. Diners do not hesitate to make a reservation. You will not be disappointed.
Wonderful oceanfront restaurant in Condado. Fabulous views, vibe similar to South Beach without the attitude. Fun and innovative menu combined with interesting craft cocktails. Reasonable wine list. Monica our waitress was fun and professional. We highly recommend this place. We dine here at least once every time we come to Old San Juan.
This place is the perfect setting for a relaxing dinner or romantic date. Also good for groups. Their signature cocktails are flavorful and interesting (strongly recommend Scarlet Blush). Food is always great. This was my third time and I try to go at least once a year when I am in Puerto Rico. Friendly service.
We came to his restaurant with 5 guests for lunch and no reservation. The host told us they were fully committed to reservations so we could not be seated. Not even offered a bar seat or to be put On a wait list. I signed into open table and found a reservation within 15 minutes. We were seated at our reservation time and ordered drinks that took 20 minutes. The waiter warned us the food may take 30 minutes to come out and we had no problem with that. Our food came out and hour and a half later. No updates, no apology or explanation. Food was great, beautiful restaurant. Poor service and lack of communication.
I made a reservation for New Years Eve. Luckily, I booked this several weeks in advance because it was totally sold out the night of. We brought a bottle of champagne, which had a $25 corkage fee. I thought this was very reasonable, given the bottle we brought and the occasion.
The food was on point—delicious and served quickly—despite the restaurant being extremely busy. The vegetarian mofongo was delightful and the prawns were absolutely gorgeous.. approximately 3oz each! The calamari and spicy mango sauce complemented each other well. I wish they served the corn soup instead of the pumpkin one, as the pumpkin soup was very bland. The cuatro leches coco bizcocho was amazing and the sparkler on top was a very fun touch!
The beachside deck, perfect weather, great music, good service, fireworks, etc. was all I could have wished for. It was a perfect way to ring in the New Year!
Excellent ambiance, can’t beat the ocean view if seating on the deck area. Service was prompt and courteous. I like the restaurant and have been coming for years now. It has had its ups and downs but they are striving to make it great, as it used to be. The appetizer options are limited. The fried calamari was great. Last time we had the churrasco eggrolls and although tasty, the shell was chewy. The main entree was organic chicken with apricot glaze. The chicken was bland and I don’t like salty foods, perhaps 6 halves of brussel sprouts and some onion. That was it! The portions have gotten smaller, I’ve noticed. Dessert was delicious, chocolate. Anyway, this is a great place and fortunately they keep the music at a decent level so you can talk and think!
THe place is beautiful and the service was very good. The menu was limited to us since we are kosher and the variety of fish was low. They had luckily two red snapper left but no other fish for entree. We weren’t able to pick. I would suggest for next time to have more types of fish available since that’s what they are known for. Other wise everything else was great. Very honest people serving. I would definitely go again and joe for better selection.
The restaurant facilities are beautiful, the food was good, the sangría was great, the service was excellent!....however, I consider that the food portions can be more generous for the value of the meals, for example, I asked for the shrimp mofongo, it was very tasteful, the shrimp was great but I have never seen such a small portion of mofongo for this type of dish, I was out of mofongo before I finished the shrimp. One last comment, I'm not sure there is a remedy for this, but there were various flies around our food during the time we were having lunch, this was very uncomfortable. Overall, we had a good business lunch.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch by the seaside with impeccable service and fabulous fresh seafood. The tuna tacos are divine and the staff could not be more gracious and hospitable. They even went out of their way to visit a store to purchase a beverage i requested that was not on their menu. This is a “must try” whenever you’re in San Juan.
Had a party with 10 people. As always, the view is spectacular. Service was great. Over our last few visits, the only thing that has been disappointing has been the food. All of our parties’ food last night was rather bland and under seasoned. I personally had the surf and turf. Several of our party ordered it. It was advertised in the menu and confirmed by the server as a 14oz Maine lobster tail and a filet. The filet was not seasoned at all and was bland, and all were over cooked. The worst part was that we were served spiny Caribbean lobster tail, which is not nearly as flavorful as Maine.
