Oceanaire Seafood Room - Miami - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Our dining experience was wonderful. We were seated in an intimate booth away from the main dining area. The service was attentive and the food was outstanding. My husband ordered 1.5 lb lobster and I the white snapper encrusted with crab. The portions were more than adequate and both dishes were prepared perfectly. We did not order sides. For dessert we shared the banana bread pudding and it was superb.
The food was exquisite and delivious; service overall was outstanding.A little note to the restaurant in regards to the removal of plates and leftovers. The person removing our plates did not ask if we had finished or not before removing our plates from the table. There was a considerable amount of food on the table; however, we were not asked if we wanted a doggie bag or not.
My waitor was rude when asked to take a picture as he served us. He was much more concerned at the fact that we were not consuming alcohol! This is a status place not a place of great food! My fish was overcooked and dry and crusty on the edges. Not flaky at all!!!! I would much prefer CHARTHOUSE or BALEEN. Even Bonefish is better than this place! Parking is a nightmare, I would never return!
Well there is not much to say other than it was great. I found oceanaire via yelp and wanted to take my girlfriend to a nice place and this place lived up to it without a problem. I did feel a little under dressed by the way the rest of the crowd was, yelp had it as cassual attire. The service was great, from the waitress which gladly explained every detail of how their plates and side dishes are served which really helped us from ordering too much, even though we still had left overs to take home, to always having our glasses full without ever having to ask. The food was delicous, I being a guy that loves fishing the honey roasted snowy grouper was very good, my girlfriend had the black and blue swordfish which was also great.
We started out on a very good note. The food was to die for and the service was good until the end of the night. The waiter would not bring the check. He walked by several times as though we were not there. We asked for the check on at least three occassions. Finally we got it, because at this point we really were ready to go.
Taking my girlfriend to Oceanaire for dinner on her birthday was a great decision. The staff could not have been more friendly and thoughtful. Though I told them ahead of time that I'd like to have a piece of cake brought out for the birthday girl with a candle on it, they also had our menus specially printed up with a "Happy Birthday!" greeting printed across the top. This was a really nice touch that made her feel special as soon as we were seated. (The cake was great too.)
The food was excellent. The menu is sophisticated enough to make for a very nice place to take your special someone, where he or she can feel that they are being treated to a special meal while offering enough flexibility so you don't go broke.
Amazing restaurant! It serves not only a fresh and delicious seafood selection, changing daily based on what is available, but it also has superb steak options, putting Mortons to shame. We have lived in south Florida for over three years and this by far was one of the best meals we have had in that time. In additon, the service is perfect and accomodating. We look forward to our next visit.
We had gone to Oceanaire about 2 years ago, maybe around the time it first opened. We were very impressed at that time with the food and especially our service. This time this service was no where near what we had before. The waiter/waitress can really make or break your experience and this time we were not very impressed. The service was just OK and we did not get the personalized attention like we had the first time. I'm not sure if we just had bad luck and got stuck with a so-so server or if their standards have gone down now that they have been opened for a while. I did notice other servers who did appear much more enthusiastic and attentive to their customers.
The staff went out of the way to make the evening special. When we made our reservations, mention was made that it was out wedding anniversary. Much to our surprise and pleasure, we were greeted with menus along the top of which was written "Happy Anniversary." We were then treated to baked Alaska for desert in celebration of our annivesary.
The waitress knew the menu and all the specials by memory, and made some very good wine and food selection recommendations.
A place that we will defintely frequent, whether its an anniversary or simply taking a valued client out to lunch or dinner.
Atmosphere was excellent with early dining time - service was great and the food was simply outstanding. The Maine Sea Scallops were perfect and the macadamia crusted grouper melts in your mouth; ended the evening with a Baked Alaska with mango sorbet - enjoyed the flavors that fused nicely.
