Oceanaire Seafood Room - Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
Avishek was a fantastic server! He just knew what to do and say to make you feel important. The food wasn’t fantastic and overly priced. I’m not worried about the price but I️ expect excellent and complex flavors. One thing I️ noticed here is they love to batter their fried seafood which isn’t my fave.
We might have hit the kitchen on an off night as the food was only fair - not up to the usual standard of excellence. Perhaps it was because we visited on a Monday night, but the restaurant was fairly busy with mostly business types and a few couples. The wait staff was as usual - outstanding - and this includes our bartender who was a VERY personable young lady that took very good care of us. Our waiter, his assistants, and the manager even called us by name multiple times and did their very best to take care of us, but the kitchen was just OK and not up to the same level as the rest of our experience. For example, my Salmon was fresh, but it seemed a little old and was starting to have a bit of a fishy taste. Good fresh salmon does not have a fishy taste. But the worst part was the lobster mac and cheese where the lobster had a distinct fishy taste which I have not experienced before at other Oceanaire restaurants (Miami). The deserts were just OK and did not finish our experience on a high note. I will give them another try as it appears to me that the kitchen just had a less than stellar night or were using old ingredients.
We selected this restuarant to celebrate my birthday. The food and drinks were superb. Our waiter's name was Derrick. He was by far the BEST waiter we have experienced in a long time. He was excellent. He made our experience memorable. We will definitely return when in town and request Derrick!
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Hostess - Valryn. Our Server - Lakeney, was excellent. She helped us with menu selections, and she made our Birthday evening delightful. We were then greeted by Manager - Devin, and then received a token by Floor Manager - Gregory. This was a Wonderful experience. We will definitely tell our friends about our Evening.

Was really looking forward to a great fresh seafood meal. It our fist time here. Didn’t mind the pricing of food was worth it. It isn’t. I ordered seared scallops. The scallops were coated with something-and menu didn’t state that. The scallops were overly salty. The risotto that came with scallops was terrible. My son had yellow-fin tuna. It was great. Boyfriend had chicken-fries lobster with grits. Grits were lumpy and lobster was mediocre. My other son had crab legs. They were good. Lobster macaroni and cheese was just ok. I’ve had better. Overall, this place is over priced for the quality of food. I would advise you to spend your money elsewhere.
The food is outstanding and the restaurant nicely decorated. Unfortunately we had the server who forgot his “happy” pill. Service was slack and he forgot to mention the specials for example. We chose the caviar and this came without blinis or toast to eat it with .... eventually we had to ask for something. Since service is related to a specific server we were probably just unlucky.
Recommended for the food though !
The food was good but as everyone states -- expensive. It was a work dinner and the boss ordered a very, very expensive bottle of wine -- which slowed down the whole meal. They kept pouring and we kept waiting for each course. It took way too long to eat. Food was good though.
Came in for lunch. The space is gorgeous, modern, sleek. Truly upscale. I felt the fishes and shark on the walls were a little cliche, and could be replaced with pieces of colour coordinating modern art. Otherwise, I had the fried octopus, and my guest had the halibut - both beautifully placed on the plate. Our server was lovely, although I wish she had presented our food properly by telling us what it is we were being served. She didn't seem the most informed, especially when we inquired about our what and where our oysters came from. Lunch was quiet, and would recommend if you're looking to have good conversation.
Went to Oceanaire for my daughter's 23rd birthday celebration. The food was fantastic, and the service impeccable. Waiter and Asst. Waiter were attentive without being overbearing. Knew the menu well and was able to make great recommendations. Seafood was just as good as the steak, and all side dishes were perfectly cooked. It's a bit pricey, but well worth the cost. We'll save this one for our next very special occasion.
I truly enjoyed our entire experience from walking in to walking out. Our server was very attentive, but not to the point of being annoying. We told her it was our first time and the chef sent us out a small appetizer for tasting and palate cleansing. The lobster tails were cooked divinely, the filet mignon was moist, and the spinach was so smooth and buttery. I recommend for birthdays or date nights.
