The food is very bland and the service was slow. I have no problem paying the prices the oceanaire demands. However, I expect my food to be prepared very well at these prices. Unfortunately, the Oceanaire fell woefully short of these expectations. In fact, two people in my group had to send food back and we weren't charged for our soup (which is the only thing everyone actually liked) because the waiter knew we were dissatisfied. I would not go back or recommend to others.
By far the worst customer service my wife and I have ever experienced. We chose this restaurant for my wife's birthday dinner since she loves sea food, I reserved a table for 7pm got there on time, and still had to wait 20 minutes before being seated. We looked over the menu before hand and saw the prices were pretty steep, so we had chose what we were going to get even before coming in. The first time Kevin our waiter came over to introduce himself he was super friendly explaining everything. Once the order was taken we barley saw him, my wife's drink and the complementary bread came out 2 minutes before our order came out. I'm assuming Kevin didn't want to spend much time at our table considering we tab wasn't going to be as high as the other tables he had. My water was filled once, he didn't check on that till I was done with my dinner. He spent more time at this one table at one time than he did with us the entire time we were there. We didn't even touch of the dishes because it was to salty, not once did anyone ask what's wrong? How as the meal, instead he comes to the table and say " are you done yet?" This whole situation had my wife in tears on her birthday dinner. I did not say anything to Kevin, I paid my full tab and left Kevin a decent tip. I spoke to the Manager David at the time, he said he apolizes and he can compensate me for the meal, or a gift card for the next time we come. I told him I didn't want my money back or a gift card for next time, cause there wont be a next time. I just wanted to let him know how not to treat people. All we wanted to do was enjoy a meal and be treated with respect. Thanks Kevin for ruining my wife's birthday dinner!!!!!
Food was good, however quantity was a bit on low side, very expensive.
The food was amazing! Our server was Ronald. He was an absolute delight! I was impressed with how knowledgeable he was about each of the menu items. The food is a little pricey, but they made it worth the value with yummy bite size additions to our meal from the chef. I’m very happy with the experience. We’ll definitely be going back, and this time with friends.
Overpriced, over rated. Lobster bisque hardly had lobster, swordfish was overseasoned, and wine list markup worse than restaurants of equal pricing.
Not a great outing. One dish was not prepared by order and redo took forever. Probably won't go back.
Beautiful place overlooking Peachtree St. Service is awesome. I've tried a lot of different dishes here and got adventurous because everything is so good. My favorites are the Alaskan red crab legs, the pastry escargot, lobster Mac-n-cheese, truffle mashed potatoes and my husband loves the spinach, mushroom salad with cranberries and a warm bacon vinigarette. Also the sourdough bread, they give you before your meal, is to die for. They have a pretty extensive wine list, highly recommend the German Riesling by Max Ferd.
Food quality was superb!
First time going here. We are were celebrating my husband's birthday. The waitstaff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The service was impeccable. Food was delicious. We will be back.
The food just was subpar and not worth the money.
Excellent food and service. As a newbie we were given a free yummy treat from the chef. The atmosphere was great. I will definitely return to this restaurant!
Nice place. We left satisfied and felt the fare was worth it. It is a traditional seafood/steakhouse style place. Service is exceptional, food is quality, price is high but fair. Is it a destination? No. There are much better restaurants all throughout the city. But if you want traditional with quality service and a chill atmosphere, then this place is for you.
Everything was fabulous.... we went there before we went to go see the holiday lights at the Botanic Garden. I have dined at the restaurant many times, and I love going Sunday nights....it’s not crowded and so relaxing. We both had the clam chowder which was phenomenal, calamari and wedge salad was to die for. I had brought my friend there because I wanted to get the Baked Alaska, but we were so full we decided to pass for another day. Rodney, our waiter was excellent and as always I appreciate when the manager comes over to check on the meal. This is one of my favorite restaurants.
Congratulations dinner for cousin’s engagement
Excellent service. The food was amazing.
Amazing Overall!!! Great Customer Service, Atmosphere, & Food Of Course!!
Very upscale and there good is very tasty and delicious also on point.
Awesome experience! Great food. We were there for our Anniversary and enjoyed phenomenal customer service and delicious food. We will return.
We went the day after Christmas to celebrate our 10year anniversary and I must say they pulled out the red carpet. The service from the time we entered until we left was absolutely amazing. The best seafood I’ve had in a while! The best lobster Mac n cheese ever! Our menus had our anniversary printed on them alone with a special card from the staff! Out of the 14 years of us being together this, by far, reached our top 5 best date spots ever!! All of the food was amazing and super fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing experience and good food. Thanks again to the staff for making this a night we will never forget!
We had early reservations (5:30) so there were only a few other tables besides us. If it had been full i believe it would have been extremely loud and difficult to have a conversation, especially with our senior parents. Other than that, the food was extraordinary. We all agreed they were the best scallops we had EVER had! Server was polite and helpful. Ambiance was beautiful, loved the blue lighting accents. It is quite expensive (+$350 for 4 people with drinks, wine, entrees and dessert), but the quality of the food reminds you why.
The service was great . The bread , sides and wine were good as usual. The crispy fried whole snapper and crab cakes were sub- par at best. Snapper was crispy but no flavor and mushy in deeper. Left the restaurant 150.00 lighter but not really satisfied. Used to love this place.
Went for a Christmas Day dinner and had a great experience at Oceanaire. From the greeting at the door to leaving, the staff was very friendly and eager to please. The food quality was excellent and with the price.
The restaurant was crowded as you would expect for a holiday. Even so, service was quick and the staff kept you informed of when you're food and drinks works be out. We left b very satisfied customers.
The octopus and fresh fish special, Chilean sea bass, were both over cooked. The crab cake was divine. Lobster Mac was mediocre at best. I was honestly really surprised at how low quality the food was for what we paid. The best thing we had was the only thing that didn’t require cooking: oysters. The service for white table cloth also suffered, a lot of inexperienced staff. A LOT. We won’t be returning.
Warm and welcoming service, good seafood. Prices higher than I remember, perhaps only because we went on Xmas day. A few service faux pas won't keep us from going back every year!
Our experience at the Oceanaire is going to be unforgettable. We enjoyed everything!
Absolutely wonderful Christmas meal. Scallops, sea bass, lobster, with truffle mac and cheese, all excellently prepared. Andre is a highly skilled professional. Great place.
This experience was incredible! Our server, Aarron, shines bright and made our Christmas Day dinner spectacular. Oceanaire is a neighborhood gem for us and we frequently visit for a quick seafood salad during lunchtime (another favorite) and I’ve had several business lunches but this surpassed my expectations! A great spot!
The food and service was outstanding. Our server Jesslyn was great!
Service was excellent and food was also excellent, was served in a timely manner......well worth the costly ticket
Great food. Fantastic service.
I do not have a problem paying a premium for an outstanding meal, but when entrees are 30-50 per with no sides and they are bland, underseasoned, lackluster, and served with indifference, I feel taken advantage of. My scallops were bitter (no idea how that happens), crab cakew were undercooked, salmon was fine as was the steak. Brussels hadn't been dried before cooking so they weren't crisp at all. Mashed pots had been sitting around as they were dry and boring. Service was erratic. We never got an appetizer we ordered. Didn't have plates when the one we did arrived. Waited for 1/2 the meal to get an iced tea. What a dissapointing meal.
Overall a great place to checkout. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because my dish had a couple bites with char in them.
I expect that if I'm paying that much for a dish it's going to be free of anything like that. Aside from that, it was excellent.
Overall I definitely recommend checking this place out of you're looking for fine dining. The food was very flavourful and they offered some fish that you won't see everywhere.
If you're a fan of shrimp cocktail I definitely recommend checking out what they've got here. The shrimp were very large, very plump, and delicious.
Regarding the dessert ... I won't even talk about it, because it's making me hungry even thinking about it. You'll just have to trust me when I say splurge while you're here.
Hope you enjoy.
Great meal. It’s pricey, but the service and the food were excellent. Al took care of us and made sure everything was perfect. We enjoyed the calamari, crab cakes, blackened redfish, along with scallops and lobster tail. We also tried the lobster bisque and clam chowder. No complaints at all. Surprised by the peppers in the calamari, but the meal was outstanding. We will return.
Staff kind but timing of service terrible
Drinks were asked for twice and came after apps
Completely forgot sides which were comped- thank you but we did simply prepared items to have with sides.....
Also comped desserts-
They were slow with wait staff standing around
Didn’t make sense
All that being said the food was delicious but for an average price of 100.00 per person one expects incredible overall experience
Not sure I’d repeat this one
My husbands Chilean Sea bass was over cooked so we sent it back. He did not get his meal until we were done eating,We ordered crab cakes to go and my husband had an after dinner drink. We paid our bill no company or apology. As we were leaving the waitress asked for our card because she forgot to add the to go order and the drink. We have been there many times I feel the standards are not as it used to be. I will return because I like the freshness and taste of the foof
Parking at lunch with their validation is $16.
The food was prepared and presented well, and it tasted even better. Our server was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and attentive to our party. He didn't have any problems answering questions and made sure everyone was satisfied with the experience.
Great location. 3/5 stars. Much better seafood diners in area for the buck. Overpriced menu for no reason. I will not return.
Giovanni was an EXCELLENT host!!! He was so personable and pleasant! I would request him next time!!
