I’ve been here many times and as always everything was great!
The service was subpar. Food was slow to come out. Received main entree before salad. Water was never refilled. For the expensive price we paid for the small amount of food, it should have been spectacular. It was fair at best
Wait staff was slow had to remind them of request and food was very salty
$60 for a 7 ounce piece of Seabass, with no side dishes was exorbitant. Plus the Sea Bass was only mediocre. I have had better Seabass at Seasons 52 for roughly $40 and that included vegetables and risotto as part of the entree.
Plus the had the audacity to charge $3.50 for bread service. I will never eat at this restaurant again.
Advertised price was deceptive. Open Table marks this as $$ and entrees under $30. All entrees were over $40 and most $50-80 with no sides included. If you dine here beware that you will be gauged for everything. This should be labeled
$$$$ and entrees $50 plus. Food was decent but not worth the price you pay. This was very disappointing I wouldn’t recommend it.
Second time having Thanksgiving here. This experience was not the best.
All of the sides were basic in flavor + lacked any seasoning.
However, my 22 oz bone-in ribeye was amazing! The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well.
As for as the service, the waitress either did not care, was assigned too many tables or got in the weeds but she was not attentive. She failed to check on us, and we had to ask her for overlooked items or refills.
All in all, I was disappointed in the overall experience but enjoyed some elements of the meal.
Thanksgiving dinner for two. Quick service, great food, low noise levels. A great dinner.
My husband and I have dined here for special occasions/celebrations and for just a regular meal. Several years ago when we’d come, the restaurant retained the name of our waiter with “our file” so we’d have the same guy, and he was awesome! He really made the dining experience a great one. I don’t know if they do that anymore, and that person doesn’t seem to be there anymore either. Our last couple of visits (especially the most recent one) have been just average. The food is still great, but the service is average. They didn’t acknowledge our anniversary, even though we put it in the notes when we made the reservation. Again, it wasn’t bad service, just didn’t match what you like to see at a higher end restaurant such as this.
Food was great
The food was good but our server was very underwhelming. Not the best experience.
Five star prices with 3 star service and food quality.
The food is great. The servers are amazing. The attention to detail is stunning.
My birthday celebrated with friends
The staff was amazing and the experience was great for out first time and everything turned out good.
I had a party of 16 and agreed to a $1,500 minimum 4 course pre-fixed menu. When we finally received our entrees at around 9:45 (2.5 hours after we sat down), we all ordered medium or medium well and received the inedible steaks in the attached photos, resulting in almost all of them being sent back. After the second steaks were brought out, almost all of those had to be sent back a second time! Many of my guests did not even end up eating an entree at all because by the time the second iteration of the filets arrived, it was at the end of our reservation and thus time for us to attend our next reservation. We ended up having to leave before dessert was even being prepared, as we didn’t want to wait the estimated 45 minutes for dessert when it was already 10 PM.
To say this was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had is an understatement. It was embarrassing asking people to pay for what they received. Only about half of my guests ate an entree that was what they ordered, forget the fact that it was 2.5 hours late. In addition, the asparagus sides served were not the seasonal vegetables (Brussels sprouts) that we were told it would be.
While David was accommodating in removing items from the bill to attempt to compensate for the wait time, we never received anything off for the raw steaks and overall terrible experience. The compensation David offered was not nearly enough, as we didn’t receive ANYTHING that was satisfactory and almost half of my guests never received an entree that they ordered.
This restaurant has gone downhill! Food was salty and drink had a piece of glass in it, asked to see the manager and our server let us know she was too busy! Won’t be returning to this restaurant.
The service was excellent, food was delicious, but seemed quite overpriced. My salmon was simply grilled with lemon juice & was $42. It came with nothing else. All sides were not $6 or $8 as they are at comparable restaurants, but $13-$16. I would recommend restaurant, but with warning of the expense of eating there.
Sadly, the food didn’t impress us as much as the Oceanaire in Baltimore MD.
Salads were extremely overdressed and oily; the salmon terribly undercooked. When I initially ordered, I requested it for it not to be rare or pink. Unfortunately that was how it was served. Then requested it to be cooked more, the server basically shamed me into not ordering properly-“next time you should order it Medium”. Hmmm, that’s what I ordered! Sadly, my dinner guest were finished with their meal by the time a new and then overdone salmon arrived.
Overall a bad dining experience. Thank god for the red wine!
This was my first time eating at Oceanaire and I really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the service was great. I love the look and ambiance of the restaurant, as well. Very nice experience.
Great wait staff. I was surprised how much everything was. Maybe it’s just inflation.
Food was good but pretty expensive compared to similar restaurants. And nothing was complimentary. I was not overly impressed
We had a reservation for a Monday evening at 6:00. There were not a lot of customers at the time. We were very well taken care of. The Side Car cocktail was excellent. Their regular margarita was a bit floral for my tastes. The swordfish was cooked perfectly! King crab was enjoyed by others in my party, though pricey. Desserts were amazing. Had a great time. My second time at an Oceanaire; the first was in the San Diego restaurant. Both places were really good.
Our server Kevin is the consummate professional. He knows the menu and the wine list inside and out. The chef masterfully accommodated a vegan, a pescatarian and a Keto diet!
Birthday celebration for my mother and best friend. It was a wonderful experience. We felt like we were the only people in the space. The server was amazing; attentive, but not hovering. Thank you!!
The food was old and chewy as in the steak. It was also undercooked and red when we asked for medium well. The salmon was tasteless and poorly seasoned. Our sides were never served so we had missing food. We couldn’t see the menus or our food because it was so dark. The receptionist in the front was rude and curt with us while checking in. The only thing we enjoyed about our experience was our waiter John. He was inviting and caring and very tentative to detail. Even though r he food wasn’t worth a flip our service made up for our overall experience.
Spacious and quite, very attentive staff. All of the food was excellent and timed perfectly.
Had a great meal
I made a reservation here because I’ve heard wonderful things about the ambiance and the food. Unfortunately, our experience was terrible. We did not receive ANY service after being seated. We waited for a little over 20 mins and no one came to our table to greet us, pour us water, or even tell us “we’ll be with you in a moment.” Nothing. Upon leaving, we notified the hostess why we were leaving and she appeared genuinely stunned. We will not attempt to dine here again.
Great food, great service. We will be coming back
Janelle was outstanding!
Very nice restaurant. I would give 5 stars, but the menu had a very little choices of fish. Over all it was a good eating experience
This place has been my “go to” for special occasions for many years and I keep going back! The food, ambiance and service are always exceptional!
Everything about our experience was amazing. Our table was ready the minute we walked in the door. They didn't hassle us about being sat before everyone arrived. We added one person to our party without issue bc we were sat at a table larger than our party. The meal was well paced so we could enjoy every course. Our server was attentive. The manager promptly attend to the only issue we had which was not their fault. My friends treated me to a birthday dinner which Oceanaire ensured was a memorable occasion. I am a foodie & rarely can rave about ambience, service & food quality in the same experience. This was a pleasurable exception. The filet was one of the best steaks I've enjoyed in years. Perfectly fire grilled & tender enough to have eaten with a butter knife. The baked Alaska was the finale. It won't disappoint!
You have to try this place.
Sides were not hot. Seafood was undercooked. Did not adjust our bill.
large and very romantic venue the food was good but the service wasn't very attentive
We choose to dine at Oceanaire for our 1 year anniversary... We were placed in a romantic and well located booth by the window. Our server Javi was enthusiastic and attentive. We ordered the caviar which was appointed with all the appropriate accompaniments to our delight, delicious !! Escargot was good but not great, leave it to the French! Our mains PAN SEARED CHILEAN SEA BASS "DYNAMITE" and the GRILLED SWORDFISH were to perfection! To top it off Javi brought a complimentary desert, Baked Alaska, what a treat and a beautiful end to our memorable experience.
One note, they ran out of the desired wine, and as it's a well know wine we were disappointed in the stocking practice. The replacement wine was an up-charged wine..
We will return to dine again !
