Lamar was fantastic! Could not have asked for better service on my Birthday!
The wait staff across the board was amazing. Pricy, but worth it and we plan to return.
This was our first visit to Oceanaire. We went for our anniversary and were not disappointed. We were a little concerned after seeing some negative reviews online but were completely satisfied with our service, food, and ambiance. We ordered a little too much food but it was all very good. I had the sea bass special with a Caesar salad and both were outstanding. The salad was so large I couldn’t eat all my entree but it was so good it was hard to stop. My wife had the crab cakes and a salad that were equally as good as my order. Since her salad was not as rich as the Caesar, she was able to eat all her crab cake dish and she normally is a light eater. The Oceanaire treated us to a baked Alaska desert that was unbelievable even though I thought I couldn’t eat another bite. We will definitely be back.
We were very underwhelmed. Atmosphere was very nice but food and service were just average. VERY overpriced. We will not be returning.
Meal was just ok .... crab cakes are were good and collard greens were amazing
The overall experience was great and i expected a more business casual setting although a few did not get the memo. Tighten up on the dress code maybe.
My wife and I went to Oeanaire for her birthday and it is a good place to have some good seafood. We've been to many high end restaurants, seafood and otherwise, and they are comparable to others in terms of food choices, ambiance, service and cost/value.
We had a reservation but someone at the restaurant decided to mark us a no show as we were about 15 minutes late. The hostess rectified that situation and was able to get us a table quickly.
Once seated we were greeted by our waiter soon. He was friendly and attentive for the most part. As he got busy the service was a little sparse though he was still attentive. It was a busy night even though it was raining and cold. Still at these high end restaurants I would expect exceptional service regardless of how busy they get since we are paying for it.
I had salmon with collard greens and both were really good though the collards were a little sweeter than they should be.
My wife had the lobster and she enjoyed it though there was not enough meat for a 1.14lb lobster. The price was better than other places for the same size.
She also had the crab cake and she really enjoyed that highly.
Overall it is a good place to go and I would recommend but nothing stood out that made it exceptional or stand out from other high end restaurants.
Maybe we are a little spoiled as we have had exceptional service and food at other places with comparable prices and great atmosphere and attention to detail and service.
I would say this was about 7 out of 10 so still good.
Restaurant was nice and food was good. Our server did a great job. It was very pricey.
We love Oceanaire and celebrated a birthday tonight. We were greeted warmly with a Happy Birthday and a special menu indicating the birthday. The service and food were awesome, as usual.
Food was very good as usual. I had two wonderful Crab Cakes with Creamed Corn and Hash Browns. Both sides were very good. Always a great place to dine.
Everything was Great! My date thought so as well!
My 2nd time there with a large party. They were able to accommodate us, and the staff was able to provide excellent food and service.
Waiter took 10 minutes to come to the table by the time he showed up we were ready to order everything. We ordered two cocktails, btl water, one crab cake, and 2 shrimp n grits. The cocktails were ok, but the shrimp on the shrimp n grits were overcooked and the crab cake had way too much seasoning. The shrimp n grits were taken off the bill after a friend brought it to the waiter’s attention. It just wasn’t a good experience for me. The food wasn’t good at all and I was extremely hungry. I was disappointed after wasting $80 here and having to go grab food elsewhere. I will not be returning.
Took my husband here for his birthday and had a wonderful experience. Fresh food great drinks and wonderful service. Food took a little long but that’s because perfection takes time. I had a very expensive fish of Mahi mahi which was good but for $39 was a bit pricey. Add 2 scallops and I didn’t realize there’s a $21 charge. Husband had bone in rib-eye cooked to perfection and a grilled lobster tail. Lobster bisque soup was just Ok. Grilled octopus was delicious!
50th Birthday Celebration
This was an excellent choice for our anniversary dinner. The inside of the restaurant is tastefully decorated in a nautical theme. It actually does have the feel of the dinning room of a cruise ship.
Our waiter, Kevin, did an excellent job from the start. He explained several items on the menu to us and answered all the questions we had and then left us to make our choices. He was very attentive the entire evening without being overbearing. I had ordered the Filet and Shrimp. When he brought our food to us he asked me to cut into the filet to make sure it done to my liking. The Clam Chowder I had for an appetizer was the best I’ve ever had. Nice small pieces of potato’s and plenty of clam in every bite. My wife had the Crab Cake for her appetizer which was done to perfection with just a very lite breading. Her Scallops were cooked perfectly as well. At the end of our meal my wife had asked for a copy of the menu. They obliged by providing us with a copy with our names printed at the top! A card was also included and signed by the staff. A very nice touch.
All in all this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. We seldom go to these types of restaurants but we will definitely be returning to this one in the future!
Food was good. Ambience was better and our waiter Kevin was most helpful
The choice that I made was very good one, i think it was a shark something with a crab cake on top with lobster mac and cheese was my choice and the Rocka fella ousters but as for my guess I must say the food wasn't as good as mys it was very bland. I also went for my wife birthday and it wasn't even acknowledge after paying $450 plus dollars for 4 people at least saying happy birthday would have been appreciated. I put this on my reservation thinking she would be greeted with happy birthday enjoy or something. I guess its better to go to Cheese cake factory or where else at least they sing and acknowledged your day and give you a free dessert for your special day. It all counts in customer service. You'll notice them leave with smiles, just from the thought of doing something nice for them.
Menu was al carte which made it more of a $$$$ price point. Was seated at table where 1 person was in the aisle.
We went for my partners birthday. We had a wonderful evening with amazing service from Manny. Everyone did there best to make the night perfect!!
We went there for our New Year's Day dinner. Ordered the Swordfish and Redfish as entrees. Excellently made and not overcooked! Also got the lobster bisque and clam chowder as starters. Both were good but the bisque was almost too rich. Had to get the lobster mac and cheese and, of course, the collards. Both were well-made. Fair warning: the collards were on the sweet side. The mac and cheese was a huge portion (it'd better be for $27.00!) and would easily feed three, if not four people. They may want to think about offering a smaller portion for a more reasonable price. Service was very good, as was our table that was assigned. Shelby was our waitress and did an excellent job!
Only gripe was the price--plus the fact that they added an up-charge when we asked for a different seasoning on the fish. This was not explained during the order (we still would have gone ahead and done the same thing anyway, but it would've been good to know). Seems rather odd that someone paying close to $50.00 for their fish cannot get it seasoned the way they want to without incurring an additional charge!
Still, a nice place to go for a special occasion once in a while.
Nice ambience, staff very accommodating
This visit was a pitifully poor example of what Oceanaire is.
The server was too busy looking around and watching his larger tables to pay any attention to our table for two. With multiple dish errors, multiple billing error‘s, and long wait times between visits and wine pours; it was obvious we were a burden, not a customer. After finally getting the bill corrected, my checked coat was found lying in a heap on the dirty floor of the coat room. It was picked up and handed to me without a word spoken.
Have dined here multiple times, and can only hope this was a one-off occurrence. However, when paying Oceanaire prices, one shouldn’t have one-off occurrences.
Service & food were good!
One of the best dining experiences we’ve had...food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Perfect date night!
Celebrated my dad’s 76th birthday and everything was great - the food and the service!
This is an absolute must go to seafood restaurant. We came here for my wife's birthday and our whole table really enjoyed the food, the service and the ambiance.
Great service excellent food I would suggest this restaurant to anyone bring your wife kids great atmosphere
We got there at 7:30pm on Christmas. They were out of half of the fish offerings on the menu and also half the sides and desserts. Service was okay.
Excellent food and service, fairly expensive but definitely worth it!!
Waitress was good, but took awhile to get the food. Food was overpriced and not that good. Family of 4 bill was 380 with 20% gratuity. Don’t plan on returning.
This restaurant is overpriced. The food and service or average. The atmosphere is generic. There is nothing special about this restaurant to merit such high prices.
Wonderful and pleasurable dining experience. Food and presentation exceeded my expectations.
Very nice and upscale. Food is delicious! Quite pricey, but worth it on special occasions.
My visit to Oceanaire this time was rather disappointing. The food was okay. The size of the lobster was very disappointing compared to the price I paid. The scallops were very salty. The asparagus were very hard and not easy to chew, I was only able to eat the tops. The wait staff service was exceptional. However, the price we paid, for what we received was very disappointing.
My husband and I celebrated Christmas at Oceanaire. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Tables were close without encroaching on privacy and conversation. Service and food were excellent. The Dayboat Grouper with Bernaise Sauce and Pan Seared "Black and Blue" Grouper, recommended by Joshua, our server, were delicious. The waitstaff operated as a well oiled team and made sure everything was perfect. We will be returning to Oceanaire and would highly recommend them.
Spectacular, as usual.
Food was delicious and good but the service was even better!
Very disappointed in our meal small lobster tail tiny stone crab claws poorly prepared! pieces of shells every where.
Cold Lobster cold drawn butter.
Lobster bisque was good!
Worst experience we have ever had there;(
We've spent many Christmas Eves here. This one was a bit unusual, though. The bar tender seemed to be having some issues with getting drinks out and getting them right. However, once corrected they were very good. As always, our dinners were delicious! Service was top notch!
