One of the most amazing restaurants I’ve been to! Sat oceanside, seated just as the sun was going down. Our server was excellent and the beachside ambience was amazing, and a nice break from the predominantly tourist hotspots to eat in the area. Would recommend the seafood mushroom risotto. This restaurant is a must try!
I enjoyed this resturant but I felt the vegetarian options were very limited to just salad. Even though the chef made the pasta I requested they charged me way extra for that. I went to another restaurant next door they had at least 5 vegetarian options (e.g. flat breads). I would come again but make it more vegetarian friendly. Even the bar they had nothing but French fries. But excellent ambiance. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for meat eaters.
Nice place, my best recommendations
View & service was great. Yuca and slaw lacked flavor. Surprised by the small amount of fish for the price. I will give the restaurant another try by ordering a different dish. It is worth the view!
Nice view but service was lacking. Upon arrival, no host, wait staff scrambled to get us and others our tables (made reservations). It took 45 minutes to have our drinks served. Another nearby table left before their drinks arrived because they experienced the same thing. The waiter did his best and we felt bad for him - seemed to be a back of house / management issue. Unfortunate as it was recommended to us - will not be returning and has turned us off staying at resort.
I was there Tues 3/13/18 @ 1:00pm with my sister who just flew in from Delaware and thought what a place for her and her husband to be is at the beach for lunch and beautiful weather. However, the waiter was extremely nice and gave us time to catch up w family during some cocktails.
The waiter them came to us to see if we were ready to order which we did. Approx. 20 minutes later a different waiter came up to us stating our lunches should arrive shortly. Once again we forgot about all time due to being w family and enjoying the weather and beautiful sites.
However by brother in law stated WOW IM SOOOOOO HUNGRY. We then noticed that it was 1 1/2 hrs later since we placed our order. Which I always had to walk inside to find someone to order a cocktail. Unexceptibale!
At that time our original waiter who I think was Jaun Carlos asked us how was our lunch and would we be interested on desert ?
I’ve stated to him..... WOW, You have to be kidding ! We didn’t even get our lunch yet. He was mortified and stated he was on break and it must of slipped the cracks. The party of 4 of us was totally frustrated and STARVING But must important as my guest I was totally imbarresed.
The final bill was just short of $200.00. Which is fine BUT NO APOLOGY, NO LET ME SEE WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOUR BILL, PLUS I PAID ALMOST $30 for valet parking. We got married their last June and I’m appalled of this imbarrasing experience with my out of town family.
Not sure if I’ll ever return.
Server kept trying to up sell even after being asked not to. Food ok, but extremely overpriced for what it was. We split a Caesar Salad- no flavor what so ever. $30 for a piece of salmon that wasn’t even center cut, we left feeling ripped off.
Amazing attention to detail in all food and drinks. Attentive and active service
Server was excellent and food was superb. Little pricey but loved it otherwise
This is truly a wonderful place to dine on the water in Fort Lauderdale. They need to address the valet parking time limit--2 hours only so we did not stay for dessert or drinks. The staff is always wonderful and the food is great.
It’s was really nice, food was great. Outdoor seating was the best
Loved the ambiance. Food and service was superb. Will definitely be back!!
Great food and ambiance. Sat outside with view of the beach. Fish entrees were great. Service was very poor. Server was nice enough but overworked. This is a great place that would benefit from a professional wait staff.
We went for Sunday Brunch. There was a good variety of food including Seafood Bar, Carving Station & Salads, & breakfast items. My favorite was the Prime Rib. Although it was a bit over cooked for my taste. I prefer rare to medium rare and it was mostly medium to well. Nonetheless, the flavor of the meat and the way it was seasoned was excellent.
The views from the restaurant were wonderful. It was very relaxing to look out over the beach on a picture perfect South Florida day!
Food and view is fantastic! However, the service was very slow. We went on a Thursday night which was moderately busy. If the service was better and more timely, it would have been 5 Star.
It was a birthday dinner. The ambiance was excellent. We sat almost on the beach under a full moon.
Our server, Nathan, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We even had a complementary, delicious, birthday dessert. It was a memorable evening.
Love the terrace, food is ok but not outstanding. Our experience was making a reservation for breakfast, when we arrived (on time) the front desk lady told us we should wait 15 minutes. I reserved for two a couple of days ago and selected outside option. Apparently they never read special needs for guests (front desk ladies were not as welcoming as they should be).
Coffee was very good
Pastry (muffin plus other) not fresh!
What I love about this place is the LOCATION & AMAZING VIEW!
Direct on the beach!
The food , ambiance and service was great and the restaurant should have been given 5 stars BUT when we ordered drinks we were charged the standard price and then 3.00 for the Rocks!!
What?? Never have we seen this done before . A restaurant of this caliber and prices should not be charging for ice cubes!!
We probably will not return !
Thee best ocean view on Fort Lauderdale Beach when dining on the veranda. Food is getting better but not 4 *s as yet. Ask for Mitch to be your server. He is beyond wonderful. The Sunday brunch is the best in Fort Lauderdale but it is $60.00 per person so go hungry.
Great location, terrible service
We found the service to be about average for what you'd expect but the food was a bit over priced for the quality. I had the seafood risotto- the risotto was a bit bland and there were only 2 pieces of shrimp and 2 small pieces of lobster for $41. Also, the ambiance was a bit disappointing because we had dinner outside for the ocean view, but it was dark outside and there were no lights on the beach so all we could do was listen to the waves not see them. I would suggest putting some lighting out there. I did like that they had a live singer but we got there at 8:30pm and he was done by 9pm. Overall it was just okay.
We enjoyed it thoroughly. The service was very good. Our food was outstanding. I had the pork belly appetizer and it was excellent. My entree was the seafood mushroom risotto - superb! Several members of our party of six had the sea bass special which was also served with the mushroom risotto and they all thought it was excellent. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Fabulous birthday dinner! Great food, atmosphere and service by Gissele ! I I loved being on the veranda and hearing the waves in the background I highly recommend!!
Really enjoyed the whole experience. Giselle our waitress gave us great service and deserves a big raise.
Terrible experience. We were so excited to spend Valentine’s Day weekend at such a beautiful restaurant. Our server never even introduced himself, had us waiting constantly for him to attend to us. Never checked on how our food was, gave us dirty glasses, and couldn’t be found when it was time for the bill to come. We went inside to find him laughing in the kitchen and still couldn’t get his attention. Another server had to go get him. The food was TERRIBLE for a $250 meal we expected the food to at least be warm. Tasted like it sat in the window for a long time. Our mahi was VERY fishy tasting. The chicken was rubbery. Soup tasted like Campbell’s. Our waiter then never returned to validate our parking and we were forced to find yet another server to do that. We also found out our waiters name was Anthony, he was the worst part of the experience. Deeply disappointed.
It took over 20 minutes to get a drink order filled. We had to flag the manager to get our waitress to get an appetizer order at appx 830 pm. We were seated before 730 pm. We poured our own wine and asked for second bottled water and it was not delivered until we asked again. Loved the space and ambiance - for a noble house the service was beyond disappointing.
Overall it was a good experience. The value and the food, I gave three stars because I see room for improvement.
Since your prices are higher than most, you should try to make it an experience with the food that will overshadow the price. It is essential that customers rave about the food because the ambience and the view you already have. If I may suggest, the dinner menu need a few more dishes. Try including Dolphin francaise, Braised beef and rack of Lamb. Always serve a slice of lemon on the side with your seafood dishes just in case...
One more thing. Nothing pleases a customer more than a courtesy appetizer.
Simple things like Ocean 2000 very own baked bread slices with an olive oil/garlic/ Italian seasoning combination dip or flatbread pieces with a spinach dip.
Feel free to contact me for some ideas.
By the way, I am not a "qualified" chef, but I sure can cook.
Food and location are the highlights - host was terrific - had a sea side table for dining - but, the service was incredibly slow - I mean like ridiculously slow - it wasn’t really busy either. Waiter was friendly enough - just non existent - 3 stars for service overall due to being accommodating and friendly. - I’ll try again....however will keep tabs on waiter / service.
This is a romantic spot right off of the water. The service is top notch! I would for sure return for a special occasion. This restaurant is a little pricey, but the quality of food and service make the hit on the wallet worth it. I am so glad I tried this restaurant.
The waiter put champagne on our table then quickly removed it, and gave it to another table. Food came cold. Dessert horrible. Waiter took my credit card never came back, no pen to sign the tab. Wasn’t given flowers when you walk in. Nice music, beautiful atmosphere. Horrible service, food iffy. Take a pass. Go for drinks outside.
Our salmon, mahi mahi, and lobster mac and cheese were perfectly done, full of flavor, and had a light flame texture. Our server Mitch took care of us and was always within sight but not overbearing. We ate outside while watching and listening to the waves, and seeing the sky change from blue to pink to night. This is a fantastic experience. Get a table under the tiki torches or drink around a fire pit.
Excellent restaurant ambiance, great food, great waterfront location. Good live music to set the mood.
Very nice meal and service.
It was a lovely day to take advantage of sitting outside on the open porch to the beach. The waiter was attentive to our dietary needs and was very attentive overall. The food was very good (
We were extremely disappointed with everything. Requested a table at the terrace for a birthday, called 3 days in advance. Once all guests were there the manager told us it was for only parties of 4 ( not 7). We were seated indoors. Waiters were extremely slow. Brought the cake from another birthday party (8) that were outside at the terrace. Felt discriminated. Not even an apology until I complained!!!! Food was horrible!!!
Watching and hearing the ocean on the veranda makes for a lovely dining setting. Live music is a nice touch, even though the genre was not one I prefer. Ahi tuna tartar was delicious! Crab cake was good, not great. Chilean sea bass and risotto were spectacular! We ordered decaf cappuccino and confirmed with the server that it was decaf but we were both awake for half the night. Not nice!
the best dining directly on the water. Menu is concise, and very well prepared. Excellent, fun cocktails.
A group of four friends vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale was searching for waterfront dining on the ocean versus the intercontinental. We discovered that Ocean 2000 at Pelican Grand Resort was a perfect ending to a great vacation. The beach side dining on a gorgeous veranda was the highlight of our trip. The setting was completed by an amazing guitarist accompanied by a full moon rising over the ocean. The service was impeccable; our server (Nate!) was funny, knowledgable and perfectly available yet not intrusive. The martinis were fabulous as well as all of our meals. We did not want to leave! Absolutely include this restaurant on a trip to Ft. Lauderdale for the ideal meal in a relaxed, yet upscale beachside setting.
The place is beautiful! the view of the beach is amazing as well as the look of the restaurant. The food is good and our waiter was great! Can't wait to go back.
Valet parking is just $5 with restaurant validation.
From the moment you drive up to the entrance to the walk back to the restaurant you feel as though you are in a very special place. We were directed through the dining room to the outdoor veranda overlooking the beach the sound of crashing surf and this night a huge blue moon reflecting on the water. Our server Pascal was outstanding the plates were amazing I had the pork chop others fresh sea food! I recommend that you order a few sides for the table. You want to impress and have a table for 5 that allowed for quiet conversation I highly recommend Oceans. Reminds me of Hotel Del Coronado.
