We arrived early and took a walk around the hotel property and the beach. Beautiful place.
We went into Oceans2000 and were placed at a window table with an ocean view. Giselle, our waitress, was great, She brought us complimentary champagne cocktails for our anniversary. Both the food and service were excellent.
After dinner, we walked around the hotel lobby and went to get our car from valet parking. We were told that parking was $5.00, but they charged us $14,00. They explained that the $5 was charged for parking under 2 hours. We were there for 2 hours and 20 minutes, so we had to pay $14. I was never told that the $5 was for under 2 hours. In any case, I felt that they nickled and dimed me for the parking. Not sure if I'll ever go back.
If you want to see the ocean in a magical setting - go here. But know what to expect ... the waiters are horrible (hostess and runners - great). Drinks are decent. Our cheese and cold cuts platter was about 5 days old (we sent it back) - cheddar and Gouda had white mildew all over it and the prosciutto was dark brown. Steak was very good. Go here to soak up the ambiance and for a drink. Eat somewhere else.
Everything was perfect and our server Mitchell was excellent. Highly recommend food, ambiance and service.
Food was good. Service was good. Parking is chaotic, but valet staff is friendly.
Food is really good and service is adequate. The view is great but the coffee(even the late and capp is on the weaker side. Overall a good place for breakfast
Friendly and professional service. Lovely setting overlooking the beach.
Service was poor. Food mediocre. Parking impossible.
Always enjoy brunch here in Sunday with a nice assortment fo so many different things that you can always find many things to eat and enjoy.
Waited 20 mins to be served... had to send my food back twice
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding, they kept all of our drinks refilled. They made sure we were satisfied and most of all the view was beautiful. It was Sunday Brunch with a group of 11 people and not one person was dissatisfied, everyone enjoyed themselves and most of all we were stuff/full 😂
Wonderful experience...beautiful view...food was sumptuous,...service was 5star,...the only suggestion our table of 3 would add is that the coffee and cappuccinos were a bit weak, and not warm enough. We are definitely heading back, and hopefully the coffee glitch will be tweaked. 👍😀
The view and ambiance are exceptional, service and lunch not worth it ver bad. Dinner is much betree. Save it for cooler months and eat outside.
Of course the view...
Top-Notch service -
Highly recommend - Although the hotel is always busy, so the word is out!!!
Ask about the rooftop patio ~
Amazing brunch right on the beach, beautiful , great service
Father’s Day buffet! Awesome!!!
The restaurant had flies slowing flying around at the table and on the food at the buffet. When the manager was advised about it all he could say is that they have flies and we have to deal with it. They need to get better staff who are willing to make an unhappy situation happy especially when you are paying $75 a head for a party of 8 for the Fathers Day brunch. I had been here before and had a great time. However after this last experience I will not be coming back here. Better off spending my money at Steak954 where food is GREAT and staff is as well to make sure you leave happy
The food was good but the service was not. We made a reservation that accommodated the schedule of a 7 month old baby girl. An hour and a half after we placed our order the food arrived. Our daughter and son-in-law had already left with the baby so my husband and I had breakfast alone and had the other meals packed to go. The management was very apologetic and took care of the cost of our breakfast.
I love this place. We were 7 people. We wanted to sit outside. They had only one table for 6 outside but it was close to a loud singer. We asked if we could sit farther away from the singer but were told they aren't allowed to put 2 tables together. So we ended up inside near two very large parties who were extremely loud. I will not take a large party there again.
beautiful ocean view. Excellent service. Menu is very limited.
Over all, a nice place, good value.
What a wonderful restaurant!! Everyone was so professional and a special shout out to Annalisa who made our dinner the most memorable.
Sunday brunch was amazing. Oysters on half shell, stone crab claws, shrimp, smoked fish dip, and other brunch food as well as omlette, crepe and waffle chefs. Pricey, but included unlimited mimosas and blood marys.
All of the food was really good! Our server, Jacky did an excellent job too. We weren’t being pushed out the door while we were there, so we were able to just enjoy the ocean front view for almost 2 hours. It is a bit pricey, but for a special occasion or a nice date, it was worth it.
Not just was the service and the view great, but the food was awesome!
Love this place and bring every out of town guest who visits me!
Very pretty restaurant with fabulous view. Food was alright, not the best but not bad. I would likely not drive that far for the food but the view was magnificent. You must beware the service is slow and if you are even 10 minutes over the 2 hour time period to valet they try and charge you full price valet as if not validated which was kind of annoying.
Food was very good and excellent selection, however, the service is very poor.
This was an excellent view of ocean with beautiful interiors. Food was very nice Staff was informed and place is recommended for quiet and special occasions .
Beautiful ocean view, excellent food and modern elegant decor. Our server was attentive, friendly and courteous. Lunch menu had a wide variety of choices and everyone in our party enjoyed their food. Would highly recommend this restaurant for any event.
I have been going to the restaurant at the Pelican Grand hotel for several years. Brunch, dinner, Christmas Eve, happy hour, etc. I have always had the same, consistent excellent experience. Friendly staff, delectable food, incredible view of the ocean on a non-touristy part of Ft. Lauderdale beach. It's one of my favorite restaurants in SoFla. The oceanside dining is unbeatable. Just brilliant!
It was Mother's Day Brunch. A bit expensive for what was offered. Long line with your plate to get food, not worth the $90 per person.
Should do a Kids buffet since it was $45 per kid and my kids eat only one thing.
Great tablevon the veranda facing ocean. Server was excellent- food good
Mother’s Day—-I get that is a busy day but the food set up did not make sense and people had to wait in a long line for food. I personally had to be in line for 30 minutes to access the buffet as the set up did not allow you to go to the station you wanted and forced you to be in line. This felt more like a cheap buffet rather than a high need dining experience.
The stone crabs were not fresh either which was very disappointing. What saved the day was the great waiter we had! He was amazing.
We will probably won’t be back after this experience though as the value it’s just not there. 85 dollars plus tax and tip to wait in line to eat and not have the freshest ingredients does not make sense. Can go to other high end hotels for better food and overall experience.
Let me preface this review with I have been to Brunch numerous times at Pelican Grand and normally its actually quite good. It's definitely pricey (normally $65/pp) for Brunch but they normally do a pretty good job with it. The Mothers Day brunch was a total disaster. First they were charging $85/pp yesterday. That's ridiculous but I was thought fine cause normally it's a nice time. It all started with the 20 minute line just to park the car at Valet. Then the 10 minute wait just to get to the front of the line to check in with hostess. It was raining all day so they lost a couple of tables outside so were whisked into the back ballroom which is normally reserved for weddings or events so now we are not even in the restaurant at this point. This room was probably set at 60 degrees so it was absolutely freezing. They proceed to sit us on outdoor chairs with wet cushions. We decided that this wasn't very good so we asked to be sat somewhere else. They had tables and chairs set up in the lobby of the hotel (I am not kidding) so we sat there as it was a much better option at that point. Once we finally got re seated we thought lets make the best of this. My wife gets up to get get some food and returns about 15 minutes later with a bagel and some fruit. She said the line was so long that she couldn't stand there longer. I went up myself to see if she was exaggerating and she wasn't. I counted a 40 person line before you actually got the food stations. I ended up waiting 15 minutes for a couple of waffles and just couldn't take it myself any longer. I actually never got to the main food stations. The one bright side was our server could tell they were drowning so he tried his best. I spoke with manager who tried to make it right
They clearly tried to pack as many people in this place as humanly possible to make as much money as they could. Charging $85 a head is stupid but to delivery such a low quality experience is much worse
Took my wife and kids for their Mother Day’s brunch.
Pros- food was really good. Outside sitting and view was excellent even with a cloudy day. Kids were able to be kids and service was very good.
Cons- the valet parking operation was a bit disorganized. There were a lot of people and the line for the food was very tight.
Overall, had a great time and recommend the place.
We went for Mother's Day Brunch and it was excellent! There was such a great variety of food and everything we had was delicious. We started with shrimp, stone crabs and oysters and all were amazing. We had Prime rib, stuffed chicken and seafood paella. We also sampled some of the breakfast food and everything was really good. Too much to choose from! Our waiter kept refreshing our glasses with Mimosas. The dessert selections looked and tasted wonderful. Mom was very happy we took her here and is still talking about it.
The French toast was not good so I sent it back. The pancakes were okay. The best part is the view and ambiance.
Literally dining on the beach! Wonderful setting and, above average food and service!
Nice Eating right on the waterfront
Incredible brunch buffet!
