Ocean Prime - Orlando Ratings and Reviews
Staff was VERY accommodating and SUPER friendly. We had a great booth for our anniversary and sat near the live music. It was a bit too loud at times, but the great service and food definitely made up for it. It is a place that will not disappoint. It was our second time at Ocean Prime. Both times were at different locations, but both locations had the same great service and food. I will definitely be going again!
Beautiful restaurant, outstanding service, terrific food. We especially appreciated the atmosphere, with music in the bar that was audible enough to enjoy but not intrude. Our server, Gina was attentive and knowledgeable. The tuna steaks were thick, cooked properly and very flavorful. The lobster tails were perfect. The peanut butter pie was an out of this world experience. Worth every penny!
My wife and I decided to try Ocean Prime ( first time) for my 40th Birthday on Oct 31, 2017. First, the atmosphere is great and appropriate for many purposes, whether it be special occasion group dinners, business, or a romantic evening with a loved one. The lighting and decor is great. Our server, Kevin, was on top of his game from start to finish. Friendly, patient, answered all questions with informed confidence and every single one of his 'picks' we went for, and was not disappointed.
The wine list was extensive, great menu choices with a nice selection of salads/appetizers, sushi, seafood, steaks, ala carte side dishes. We ordered the dynamic roll( tempura shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, spicy mayo sauce), wedge of iceberg( red onion, smoked bacon, grape tomatoes, buttermilk dress, blue cheese), my wife ordered a 6oz Filet Mignon with truffle butter that melted in the mouth. We're not big steak people but that was as perfectly grilled a medium well steak as I've personally ever had ( I sampled my wifes ; ) ). I ordered the Blackened Snapper. The in-house developed seasonings danced on the tongue, the fish itself wonderfully tender, my taste-buds sang and I hummed with contentment throughout the experience. For dessert, a birthday butter cake hot on the inside with fresh vanilla ice cream, sitting on what I believe was Raspberry sauce and garnished with fresh berries and a chocolate wafer. I joked with Kevin( server) that I didn't think I had any room for it, he replied that once I try it I'll probably eat a few bites. Well, Kevin was right again, because my wife and I practically licked the plate clean. And the end, we told him that this meal was quite possibly the best overall dining experience in recent memory. As far as pricing, I found them reasonable for this class of restaurant in comparison to other fine dining steak/seafood houses.
So if it wasn't clear, WE WILL BE BACK!!
The Pearmans from Bermuda :)
The menu was extensive. The ambiance was good. Unfortunate the sirloin steak was very tough and was sent back. Ordered lamb chops. Very fatty. My Grouper was good. Salads good. Mgr. was very attentive and was apologetic. Waitstaff very friendly and attentive. I would go again. Could have been an off night
An exceptional evening from start to finish! Beautiful surroundings, warmly greeted at the door, seated immediately. The service was prompt and professional and the menu offered many options, for both fish and meat eaters. After a perfect Aperol Spritz I ordered the grouper which was prepared beautifully. However, after being served I expressed concerns about the sauce due to a shellfish allergy. Our server, Gina, immediately conferred with the chef and then graciously offered to prepare another serving for me with a special sauce of butter, lemon and capers and without clam broth (which hadn’t been mentioned in the description in the menu). It was delicious! Thanks to Gina, what might have been an awkward or embarrassing situation for me was handled with a minimum of fuss and a wonderful outcome. I highly recommend Ocean Prime and thank them for a great evening.
I have been here twice in two years. I live over an hour away. I found that my first time here was very enjoyable and very adult "mature" would be a better word. This time however, I found it to be too mainstream. I dont want to feel likme a high priced Outback. Instead I want a more mature expereince. TV's dont belong in such a beautiful place. Please don't succum to the sports bar mentality.
It was our 50th anniversary and the restaurant made it a special evening for us. We both had the lamb and it was excellent.
The Chief came over to our table and introduced himself and wished us a Happy Anniversary and thank us for choosing them as our choice for a special dinner.
The staff was all so great, and the food and dessert was excellent. Wwe really picked the right restaurant for our anniversary dinner.
Table too close. Water knocked over our guest's purse that was on back of her chair three times. A server bent over to pick up something and her behind was literally in my face. Got bumped many times. Otherwise , food good, service excellent. Over all pretty good. For the price, expected better ambience
Ocean Prime is a little pricey but well worth it. We came in on a Sunday night, when the restaurant was not busy. Our table was ready when we arrived. The food was excellent. I had the crab cake appetizer and the dynamite roll. Both were prepared to perfection. Our server was Lisa. Although she said she was new to the restaurant, her service was great. I will certainly ask for her when I return to the restaurant in the future. If you like seafood and steaks, you should definitely try Ocean Prime.
Oh my gosh, we had the BEST time at Ocean Prime. We went for dinner on a Saturday night for my birthday and it was even better than expected. We were seated at an intimate booth, waited on hand and foot by an awesome server (I think her name was Jennifer? We had quite a few cocktails so I'm not positive). Our service was attentive without being overbearing, and we had several courses that were beyond delicious. I have literally never had a steak as tasty as our fillet with the truffle butter accompaniment. Following dinner we sat in the lounge where there was an AWESOME guitar guy. His music selection was the cherry on top of a great evening.
I would not go there for any special occasion. They made no effort to to let you feel the special occasion. In fact, after dinner I had to remind the waitress who the birthday girl was. There was nothing complementary arranged from the restaurant to let her feel her special day . I ordered and paid for dessert like I normally do with two carrot cakes that came identically plated the only difference being one of them having a 2 inch piece of very small chocolate that said happy birthday on it. No one on the table could even tell that it was her birthday. Overall, I was very disappointed with the experience. There are plenty of other options on Sand Lake with a far better experience.
I can’t describe in 2000 characters how AMAZING this place was. On a short notice they made my reservation fit for me to propose to my girlfriend. Food was for lack of a better word..AMAZING!! Their tomahawk steak was AMAZING!! Amazing seems to apply to everything including the staff and our waiter who was by far the best waiter I’ve ever had ever! Wine selection was top notch! Simply every aspect of the restaurant was amazing! Their were a few party’s that weren’t in dress code for the caliber of the restaraunt but that didn’t bother us at all. We’re not from town but we will ALWAYS come back to Ocean Prime if our travels ever take us near again!
The three fish dishes our table ordered were excellent (snapper, grouper, and sea bass) and beautifully presented. However, we all agreed we feel they are a bit overpriced and could have larger portions of accompaniments. The creamed spinach and the brussel sprout side dishes were very tasty, but the spinach was a bit salty. The wine selection was very nicely balanced with fine selections in every price range. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and had a great time! The ambiance and service were absolutely outstanding! We are happy we tried Ocean Prime - this was our first visit and we weren't sure what to expect.
We were invited to come back after a poor experience on our last visit and the food was much better this time. The lobster bisque was excellent, although hard to finish because it is so rich! The filet was cooked to perfection and the addition of the garlic shrimp scampi was a great choice, the shrimp were very flavorful and cooked well. The side of jalapeno gratin was cheesy and delicious, but may have been too much after the richness of the soup. We took our carrot cake to go, but I am sure it will be great tomorrow! As excellent as the food was, the service was the complete opposite. Sean, our server, was painfully slow. We say without drinks for 25 minutes and then another 15 minute wait for bread. While he promised to refill our water, it never actually happened so I finished the second half of my entree with nothing to drink. Even waiting for the check was a long process, while other tables were in and out in much less time. Had he been faster it would have been a great experience.
