Ocean Prime - New York
restaurateur Cameron Mitchell. The award-winning OCEAN PRIME delivers an

From the kitchen and bar, there is an appreciation for ingredients that comes
through in every dish. The menu is classic and yet there is a modern sensibility tothe preparations which range from lighter fare like simply grilled fish and sushi to indulgent seafood presentations, juicy steaks and decadent desserts.
Each OCEAN PRIME location is dramatically designed and inspired by the unique energy of the city where it’s located. With stunning spaces, luxe details and truly exceptional service, OCEAN PRIME is an ideal place to socialize, talk business,
celebrate and indulge.
Our waitress Kerri was unbelievable!
Food was excellent, wait staff very professional and nice. On the louder and more energetic side, typical NYC business lunch meeting place.
Outstanding wait service by Victor. Quiet pre-theater ambience. Delicious bread (who cares about carbs?), melt in your mouth filet mignon, tasty halibut, etc. The food was very good, but expensive. Of course, it's NYC so to be expected.
Only downside - restroom is up a set of steep stairs. Otherwise, very pleased with the experience.
Got the French onion soup as my meal and it was basically beef broth with a ball of cheese, on onions
Really nice venue with delicious meals and an extensive wine list. Very great service and would highly recommend.
The server was checked out. The food was GREAT but service was not. She just kept forgetting things. Had to point out and ask for things repeatedly. When the appetizers came we were 5 and had to ask for a 5th plate repeatedly and then had to point out that we were waiting for silverware. Reminded her at different times that we didn’t have our drinks. She said things like oh yes will take care of that but didn’t seem to appreciate that things weren’t flowing.
We were on a tight schedule and our server was extremely accommodating and quick.
Food was delicious, however the goat cheese ravioli was heavenly.
Will most certainly come again.
We ordered crab cakes which were disappointing. They had some lump crab and the rest was mushy.
Everything was delicious. Bar can get loud like sports bar loud, at least the group that sitting opposite of us.
I've had dinner at Ocean Prime a number of times and the food is always excellent. The theater menu has changed (lobster tail and prawns have been removed) but it's still an excellent value. That said, the service wasn't at the same high level that I've come to expect. Our waiter wasn't as attentive and had to wave him down for the check.
I would still recommend Ocean Prime but caution them to monitor service...ensure new staff is trained to properly represent the Ocean Prime brand.
Best place in town for lunch, happy hour or dinner in midtown west.
Our new favorite NYC restaurant for steak / seafood. Our server Gischard (sp?) was probably in the top 5 servers we've encountered at any restaurant ever. Extremely knowledgeable about the menu, asked us all if we had any food allergies, inquired about each guest's interest in what we were going to want to eat, extremely attentive to the table and had us out in just enough time to make our show. Seafood tower was excellent, 10oz filet cooked perfectly, halibut prepared expertly.
One of my favorite restaurants in New York AND Philadelphia. 10/10 meal, service, and experience every time I go. Some of the best steak I've had in my life - I recommend the bone-in filet.
We chose this restaurant as the last meal of our holiday. We knew it was pricey so it was as expected. The food and the service was exceptional. The food portions were a good size and presentation was excellent. We found it quite busy when we arrived and a little noisy and seemed to be full of predominantly business men talking shop which did destroy the ambiance, we asked to be moved which we were to a quieter booth. If you are a couple i would recommend booking a booth. Overall a good experience.
Excellent service and food.
Had a wonderful dinner at Ocean Prime. The servings are more than ample. The Oysters and Halibut were divine. I will return.
We celebrated my mother’s 70th birthday. Fabulous experience as always with Cameron Mitchell restaurants. Thank you.
Alas, I cannot recommend Ocean Prime and personally won't be returning. We had high expectations, and they were not met other than for the service. The lowest price wine on the wine list is $115, which was ridiculous. We ordered a bottle for around $135 and was ho-hum at best. The steaks we had were significantly better than the seafood--how is that possible at a seafood-based restaurant??. One fish dish (halibut) was so overcooked that we had to send it back (the first time sending something back at a restaurant in 10 years). The roasted brussels sprouts were roasted beyond recognition. On the brighter side, the steaks, truffle fries and butter cake dessert were all really good. Best of all, the service was great.
Food was bland and a little pricy for the quality. The server had too many tables to handle us and we had to wait a good bit.
In spite of this being a chain, it has it's own New York atmosphere. The food was truly amazing and yes they know how to make en excellent martini! I am already trying to figure out when I can head back.
Every course was amazing with regards to presentation and taste. I was very impressed with the portions as well.
The steak is delicious and the employees/service are outstanding
Food was AMAZING !!
The crew as well
Wonderful dining experience! Beautiful restaurant, excellent service and delicious food. I highly recommend this establishment if you’re in the Times Square area.
The food was good. I could make it at home. We booked there because it was close to the hotel.
Outstanding fish preparations and lots of choices. Steaks, sides and cocktails were also excellent. The restaurant is well appointed and remarkably spacious which added to the first class impression.
I rarely write reviews even though my wife and I dine out frequently in the city. The food was very good. Had sushi roll appetizer. We both enjoyed very much. The steak was good. There are several places nearby where I think the steaks are better
But our is issue was with the service. My son, having never ordered tuna steak before, was asking some basic questions and I thought the waiter looked a little put off but I let it go. However, after that, the quality of his service diminished. Specifically, I had ordered a glass of red wine. Rather than giving me a sip to taste before he poured, he quickly put the glass on the table and simultaneously just poured a decanter into the glass. He did it so fast that it popped up a little bit and dripped down the side of the glass so that I had to use my napkin to dry the outside of the glass from the red wine dripping on me. Then he would disappear for long periods of time. He was either odd or rude.
I think I would go back to give another try though.
We needed a low sodium entree due to serious health concerns.
We had to send the steak back as it had salt added
Sorry to be difficult but when we made the reservation we informed of this requirement
Perhaps this will help the next patron at this fantastic restaurant
Amazing food and service!!!!!!
Booked in dining room however my client wanted to sit at a booth in the bar area. Staff was very slow during service, didn’t know the specials and didn’t really appear to enjoy being there. Not a great experience relative to what I have heard from other diners. Might need to give Mastro’s across the street a try on my next trip to NYC.
Enjoyed it all!
Food was delayed and when it arrived was overcooked, then when it came out the second time it was raw instead of medium rare, after so much agravation I had lost my appetite. The original waiter we had was mostly absent but the neighboring waiter, Joshua, was very helpful and extremely professional and tried to make our visit as pleasant as possible even when we were not sitting in his section. Thank you so much Joshua.
Everything was amazing! From the service to the king crab legs. Will definitely be visiting soon
The food was horrible. I paid $65 for two lobster tails and it had no taste at all. Also, your entree does not come with a side so be prepared to buy a side. For my side, I ordered the roasted Brussels sprouts and they were not tasteful at all. If you like bland food then this would be the place for you. The customer service was amazing. The restaurant atmosphere was also nice.
Food quality and service were good overall. Was disappointed with oysters (small and tasteless). The rest of our meal was great (steak, crab cakes, salads). Nice decor and busy place. There are better similar restaurants in NYC and would try them first before returning here.
My sister-in-law took me there to celebrate my birthday and the whole experience was amazing. Great food and the atmosphere was wonderful can’t wait until I go again.
From the waiter to the presentation everything was on point.
the service is excellent, food is good, but the prices are little expensive, over all we enjoyed the dinner.
My mom and I came here for our birthday dinner and it was SO good. Starting out, even the bread/pretzel sticks they put on the table are a 10/10. We then ordered parmesan truffle fries to be brought out as an appetizer and I cannot even express how good they tasted. All of the portions were the perfect size and my mom and I split the scallops and Chilean sea bass for dinner — everything was wonderful and Alex was a fantastic server. We will definitely be coming back for our birthday next year.
