Ocean Prime - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
Just had our first date post baby. Experience was exceptional. Our server Luke was simply amazing. The place was super busy but he made our experience seem personalized and did a wonderful job in all aspects. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Ocean Prime & Luke! 5 stars!!!
Our dining experience was very good. It was a girls getaway weekend/birthday celebration/Christmas shopping all in one trip. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. We both went for seafood & were not disappointed at all. Service was excellent, too. We would definitely come back & try the steak menu.
Another great experience at Ocean Prime. This is fast becoming our GoTo choice for special dinner dates. The food is wonderful and only outdone by the service.
This visit was on a Thursday evening when it is half-price wine night. We don’t eat large portions so we often split items. Many restaurants charge extra for that request. Not Ocean Prime! They are happy to accommodate their guests.
We started with Dirty Vodka Martinis with Blue Cheese Olives. I have to say, they were not as “dirty” as we liked. No worries. Our server, Darren Highsmith (more on him later), brought us extra olive brine to improve them to our taste.
Next came the “Crisp Wedge of Iceberg Salad” (Red Onion, Smoked Bacon, Grape Tomatoes, Bleu Cheese, Cabernet Buttermilk Dressing) which was excellent. Nicely “split” as we requested.
For entrees we ordered “Twin Lobster Tails with Asparagus, Drawn Butter” ($49) and “Lamb” (Two Double Cut Chops, English Peas, Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions, Mint Jus) ($45). We also ordered a side of Sautéed Button Mushrooms ($12). Again split for us.
Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, we ordered wine with dinner. At which time our server, Darren, said that he would “buy us” each a glass of Prosecco to celebrate. Which he did at the end of our meal, along with a very nice fruit plate.
Have I mentioned the SERVICE at Ocean Prime? Seriously, it is amazing. The service alone is worth the price and the menu items only enhance it. I can’t say enough good things about Darren. He truly made our anniversary a wonderful celebration.
I highly recommend this restaurant and strongly suggest requesting Darren as your server.
WOW! We were blown away by the food! Large portions of some of the best food we have ever had. The calamari was spicy & cooked perfectly. We had a dragon roll & spicy tuna roll. Both of which were fantastic. My wife loves lobster bisque & said theirs is the best she ever had. My 100% french grandmother made the best french onion soup, Ocean Prime's is a close second. The salads were very tasty & had the perfect amount of dressing. I had the Florida grouper & it was cooked perfectly & was super fresh. My wife had the sea bass & said it was very good. The carrot cake & chocolate cake were both over the top amazing. By far the best seafood in Indianapolis. We already have reservations for our next dinner date.
We had very good service. The food we received was very good. However, they were out of the item I ordered and another menu item was changed because the original item was not available.
Our reservation was for 7:30. We arrived on time and were told they were running about 10 minutes late. 30 minutes later were were not seated. We had to ask and then were seated immediately. The manager was very nice and apologized. We get it, people linger and it gets difficult but they needed to set expectations better.
Ocean Prime Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing has great food, a hip but cozy atmosphere, a phenomenal wait staff and great options for seafood and steak. This was a great place to treat business partners to a nice dinner, with lots of conversation-starting dinner, drink and dessert options. The small details were most enjoyable, like the post-meal coffee in a french press.
Our waitress would disappear and times and not serve us our drinks for a while. The wait for the initial drinks is my biggest complaint. Food was excellent, staff was very friendly and nice. It was pricey, so expect to put out some cash here. Our table was good if you liked people watching, but I didn’t really care to be given a seat with a view of the bar.
My husband and I went for our anniversary. We usually go to Eddie Merlots or Flemmings. I have to say I'm so happy that we decided to try this place. Every thing was delicious. We started with the shrimp cocktails then we split a bowl of lobster bisque. Both was fantastic my only complaint is that it didn't have very much lobster in it. My husband got there special and I can't remember what it was called. It shrimp and sea bass and crab legs. He just loved it. I got the twin lobster tails and added a petite filet. We also got 2 sides the jalapeno augratin and the creamed spinach. Everything was cooked perfectly. We couldn't be more impressed. We will definitely be returning soon. We even got a free 10 layer carrot cake for our anniversary which we took home. We ate that later in the evening and it was excellent.
Our waiter was very pleasant, but took our appetizer order, had them delivered, and came back for our entree order when we were eating the appetizers, with our menus on our laps. My fish was a tough piece of Grouper that I couldn't spear with my fork. I sent it back and got a marginally better cut. The flavor was very good though as was the bread. Brussel sprouts overdone-charred. Salad wedge like any other-nothing remarkable about it. Overall, a poor to mediocre, expensive dinner in exchange for a quiet, more upscale restaurant experience.
Last time we went we were not overly impressed with food for the price and decided to give it another shot. This visit only solidified our earlier thoughts. Service was just adequate. Food was fair. I would not recommend to anyone to invest the dollars needed for a meal here. For the amount you spend here there are many options to gain a much better experience.
The wait staff was incredible, offered free champagne for my wife and I's anniversary. The sea bass was among the best I've had. Has a phenomenal buttery texture and excellent flavor. My wife's filet was perfectly cooked. The restaurant was a little dark inside, but that's pretty standard. Obviously expensive, but very high quality and not as pricey as a Peterson's or Prime 47. I will definitely be headed back.
