In the heart of this mostly residential enclave, in a converted circa-1895 Shingle Style house, sits Ocean. Though the Inn has existed in one permutation or another since the 1950s, and it has long held a reputation for well-appointed lodgings and fine dining. The Innkeepers have filled the building with a striking art collection that could make small New England museums envious, while Chef Gignac uses the dining room—with its awe-inspiring views—as a canvas upon which to create epicurean masterpieces. Pierre Gignac graduated from the Institut d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme du Québec. Pierre chose to open his first restaurant in Ogunquit, Maine “98 Provence," which pleased locals, tourists and critics for 18 years, until it closed in 2012.

Ocean Ratings and Reviews
We have dined at Ocean several times per year over the past 4 years. No matter the table, views of open ocean are stunning. Wait staff are world class, attentive and very nice individuals (particularly Nathan). I have celiac disease and cannot tolerate even trace amounts of gluten from cross-contamination. Chefs Pierre and Justin accommodate my needs and consistently provide superb fine French cuisine for every visit. I have never experienced a gluten reaction. Wine list is excellent with several stand out Chablis.
A FANTASTIC dining experience!!! We went to the Ocean for our 2017 Thanksgiving dinner and the entire experience was wonderful!!! The waitstaff was gracious and competent, the food was AMAZING, the wine list was nicely varied and the view was incomparable! Whike this experience was not inexpensive, it was well worth the cost. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an EXCEPTIONAL dining experience
Fabulous experience! A perfect place to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. Our meal choices were both so beautifully presented and tasted divine. The servers attention to detail was superb. Our thanks to the chef and the staff who made our day even more special. Ocean came highly recommended and we were not disappointed.
Ocean is located right on the coast with a beautiful view of the Atlantic. The moon shining on the sea is worth the trip in itself. The meal was truly outstanding and the service knowledgeable and friendly. There is an excellent wine list. While it is a great place for any special occasion don't wait, try it as soon as you can.
Started off with great cocktails in the lounge area with a fireplace. We tried many different items on the menu and all were delicious and their presentation was beautiful. High quality ingredients were obvious. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Worth the trip.
The staff at Ocean were wonderful! It was my moms birthday, which I had told Liz the hostess about. She not only saved us the perfect table, but she had our server being over 2 glasses of champagne! Our server, Ana, was also absolutely wonderful- so helpful in explaining the menu and such a delightful person. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was amazing. Loved it all!
We returned to Ocean for the last night of our weeklong visit to Maine. We had a wonderful meal there a couple of years ago and wanted to repeat the experience. The restaurant did not disappoint! The food was creative, well presented and delicious. Service was friendly and professional. It was the best meal of our trip. We will return.
Great experience at Oceans to celebrate our anniversary. The service and food were both excellent. We started our meal with complementary champagne to toast our anniversary. The gazpacho with avocado sorbet was amazing. Our entree choices were the lamb and veal mignon. Both were outstanding. Portions were very generous. Can’t wait to return to celebrate another special occasion.
We had a wonderful dinner with old friends. We had not been there for quite a while and everything was as great as we remembered it to be. The view is the best and the food is just as wonderful. My wife loved her swordfish and all four of us raved about the heirloom tomato salad. Well worth the cost.
This was the best meal we had during our stay in Kennebunkport. Everything was perfectly prepared and each ingredient in each dish seemed carefully thought out and added to the overall flavor of the dish.
I'm also pregnant and can't drink alcohol and they were able to make me the best mocktail I've had so far this pregnancy.
