About Ocean @ The Crescent Beach Club
Set within one of Long Island’s most spectacular waterfront venues, Ocean provides guests with an unparalleled dining experience and setting. The restaurant’s architecture, which includes floating sculptures of fish chasing squid through the dining room is bettered only by the panoramic views of the Atlantic waters as they arrive on the beach of the Long Island Sound.
The re-conceptualised new American menu is an unpretentious and honest approach to using quality products (both seasonal and organic) by skilled artisans in a way to provide the best epicurean experience. Our professional and devoted service will make any occasion worth remembering.

Ocean @ The Crescent Beach Club Ratings and Reviews
The food was okay, kind of expensive for what it was. Three different waiters came up to take our drink order, so the staff seemed disorganized. The setting is beautiful, right on the water with palm trees. I would return next summer for the view and the ambiance, but not just for the food.
we went for our anniversary - we were married at the Crescent Beach Club 7 years ago. We try to get back for a brunch each year. The service, atmosphere and food are still wonderful. We brought the kids this time and were able to treat them to a fun spin on French toast - Fruity Pebbles French Toast.
I took my daughter there who turned 21. They made it very enjoyable and very memorable....it was a great birthday. Food was delicious and service was great. Ambiance was beautiful and we were there for sundown ...which was amazing. Joe the manager is great...he was very busy but took time to come and talk to us. Thanks for everything Joe...we will be back soon.. with husband too! Ocean is one of my favorites!!!
We got married here so this place holds special meaning to us. Unbelievable view and ambiance, food is very good, not great. However you are going there for the view and setting.
We recently came back from a trip to Barbados and it reminded us of the island.
Highly recommend for special occasions and summer nights.
Have been there several times and always very pleased with food, service and location. On this visit we were promptly seated but then we waited over 10 minutes before the waiter came to our table, introduced himself and rattled off 2 specials. No one in our party of 6 understood him. In fact I'm still not sure if the special was catfish or codfish! He was immediately ready to take food orders when we said we would like to order drinks first. One order for a very dry martini came back totally wrong...he must have told the bartender martini with double vermouth! We told him we would like a few minutes before ordering food. We were out for a leisure dinner, not "hurry and eat." I ordered edamame, ginger salad and sushi. I was tolt it all came together. I'm still not sure why. I have ordered it in many restaurants across the country and never had to have all 3 in front of me while some of my group had their appetizers. We then all had finished our drinks and appetizers and we sat waiting and waiting. The manager came over and asked if we needed anything. He went and got us cocktails/wine and had our plates cleared. Finally our dinners came and they were delicious as always. Our waiter came back and we ordered after dinner drinks. Two of the after dinner drinks, lemoncello, came back as lemon drop cocktails. Desert was fine. I am glad my group realized it was the waiter and not "Ocean," that was disappointing. He either needed better training or perhaps a different assignment.
It's all about the view of Long Island Sound. That's it.
The waiter was good, but the overall service was unsatisfactory. The waiter was very busy and spread too thin. We waited at the table for 15-20 minutes for the waiter to just get to us and take our drink order. The food was eh... and a lot of money for what you pay. The drinks were generally tasteless. There was a wedding in progress and the dining area for us was beyond noisy. I had to yell at my wife across the table. We were sitting out on the first floor patio on a bright sunny Sunday afternoon in September. If you want to spend $200+ for some mediocre food and slow service with a beautiful view, this is the place.
thw hostess, fiddling with an electronic device, declined to even greet us for several minutes. The waitstaff couldn't remember any single item belonging to a particular diner, and didn't seem to care. The salads were of the quality that, if I found in my refrigerator, would have been discarded. Uninspired, not attractive and limp. Can't beat the view at this place, but the food is just OK, and the service never even approaches excellent
I took my friends out to celebrate my 60th birthday. This was the worst dining experience that I've had in 60 years! I tried to order a champagne cocktail. NO GO. Then, I asked for a peach daquiri . NO GO AGAIN. So I settled for strawberry, which was super sweet and had absolutely no rum in it whatsoever. It tasted like Robutussin. When we looked at the dinner menu, we should have left. There was nothing of interest on the menu. All very routine dishes, at GROSSLY EXORBITANT prices. I sucked it up, and ordered a 1.5 pound lobster. I should have just sat there and picked my nose instead. I really don't like steamed lobster, and this 1/2 lobster cost me $77.00. Yeah - you read that correctly. SEVENTY SEVEN DOLLARS. My 2 guests' meals were equally uninspired (over cooked, luke-warm salmon and some blah dry pasta). Both dishes were brought out 1/2 hour early, sent back to wait, and sat under a warmer for 25 minutes. Yecchhh. We sat there for a full hour after we ordered, waiting for our dinners. We were given a small dollop of hummus (yecch) to share, and some cold pita strips to gnaw on while we waited.
When we asked for more of this cold cardboard to calm our churning stomachs as we sat there, we were told, "more is in the oven". HUH? He must have meant the freezer. It finally arrived with some butter, after our miserable, soggy dinners were plopped down in front of us. I could not have been more annoyed with this restaurant until I was presented with a $270.00 bill for dinner. I KID YOU NOT. One drink for me, one beer and one glass of wine. No appetizers. No salads. No sides. One dessert. If you go to this terrible restaurant, BE PREPARED TO BEND OVER. Lousy food, obnoxious servers, no tablecloths, crummy wine list, awful bar tender and CRAZY HUGE PRICES. This was such a bad experience that we have planned a DO-OVER and will go back to LIMANIS in Roslyn - where we should have gone in the first place.
OUR THIRD VISIT. THE FOOD IS GOOD TO VERY GOOD, THE VIEW FACES NORTH EAST SO THE SUNSETS ARE TERRIFIC. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THE SERVICE. THEY MAY BE UNDERSTAFFED. THE SERVERS ARE NICE ENOUGH, BUT IT TOOK 45 MINUTES FROM THE TIME WE SAT DOWN UNTIL OUR MEAL WAS TAKEN. THE BOTTLE OF WINE CAME ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER WE WERE SEATED AND AFTER THAT OUR SERVER WAS SCARCE TO FIND.
We ate outside and the view of the LI Sound was great. Very peaceful; everything was first rate - food, service, ambiance, view.
We had Salmon and a Burger which were cooked perfectly, delicious and high quality (yes even the burger).
The inside dining area was very nice also but in the summer, nothing bets dining outside.
The customers were a pretty mixed demographic group.
Their sushi spoiled us for all other sushi, so fresh and beautifully presented with healthy sized pieces and a large amount in each order. The view is lovely and the waitress was sharp. This dining experience was delightful and so worth the drive from Bay Ridge. We would return in a flash.
Gorgeous setting! Right on the water. The food and service are really not great. The place has a little bit of a cheesy catering hall feel to it so you need to make sure you get an outdoor table. The food is not terrible but so so quality and not very inspired.
As always, Ocean Crescent Beach Restaurant has heart stopping beautiful views of Long Island South. However, the food is as always very mediocre. The salads are nothing special. The salmon was good. Do not have the apple pie tacos desert. The pie crust and sugar was so hard, it was inedible. But those views? Breathtaking
Ocean received many negative reviews which almost made me cancel my reservation. I am glad I went and experienced for myself.. I have a feeling the complainers and dissatisfied customers have a higher tendency to leave feedback... none the less.. we were there for sunset which was magnificent and the food was really great! I will go back in the future
A pleasurable experience indeed! Great brunch options with reasonable prices. Service could improve a bit and careful, no tip is needed because Gratuity is included ( almost 20%). But the ambience and view of the sound with CT across is memorable! Could go there for a special occasion or just a nice brunch. We had three different choices for brunch, all delicious, however no substitute! Little things could improve, i.e. big crack in middle of table, valet parking making you walk across from entrance circle to deliver car. Management was kind and polite tho. Well worth the drive.
