Ocean and Vine at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel
Great food and service. We waited too long for our food to arrive
Incredible views, great ambiance. Service was spectacular, our server Artie could not have been more personable. The food is superb. Everything on the menu is mouth watering.
you're paying for views the menu is from Mid-town manhattan circa 1995. The steaks were over cooked (we didn't send back due to time constraints) and they're clearly frozen...
For such beautiful views not really a vibe here but old folks and 35 somehting couples from the mid-west eating here.
Exceptional view and best waiter we have had in a very long time. Hotel and restaurant was very nice, clean and impressive. The open Lani was a little chilly (on June 19 it was in low 70's) and windy but other than that it was nice fresh air and sea breezes. Will definitely go again.
Excellent food and service .Wonderful view of Beach Walk and Santa Monica Pier. A well kept secret in this area .
Food was delicious, presentation was really nice, service was attentive. The restaurant was pretty empty when we went, probably because it was an overcast day at the beach. But everything was really excellent. We would definitely go back again.
This used to be a location that was beautiful with great service. Those days are over. The bathrooms had 8 stalls, half were broken. Ordering coffee took 20 minutes, we ordered pastries after 30 minutes we cancelled them. When the heater ran out of gas, no one ever replaced the tank, and it was very cold that morning. There is no reason to return.
Beautiful atmosphere mixed with casual beach dining.
Great place for a work lunch!
Great meal great service
Disappointed in the menu selection. It was not the lunch menu viewable online. It was the lunch menu from the Barbelle across the lobby form Ocean and Vine. Had my heart set on a cobb salad and it wasn't even an option on Barbelle's very limited tapas style menu. Very pricey for what we got. The view was nothing like pictured on their website either. I drove up from Orange County to have lunch with a friend and after almost 2 hours in traffic it was underwhelming to say the least:(
We were very disappointed that the menu had changed from what was presented on their website. We were looking forward to some pasta dishes that had disappeared completely.
Very mediocre meal, inexperienced waitstaff was polite but uninformed. Beautiful view of the ocean, but the food was a real disappointment. Restaurant was empty but the service was slow and the food was unacceptable.
The deconstructed smore dessert was a pleasant surprise.
Skip the meal... just get the smore for dessert and some coffee while you watch the sunset.
Something has gone terribly wrong. Been here before and it was good. Menu was quite different from web menu. Wine list too. Good wines gone, prices up. Waiter was nice and found us the wine that used to be on the menu. But the new menu is more like a bar menu. Hardly anyone there. A couple of screaming kids. Once they’d gone a great place for conversation because it was so quiet. Some of food was very good. But who serves sorbet in a carton from the supermarket? All very strange.
We sat by the firepit and it was great. Nice for a chilly evening. Our service was great with lovely reccomendationa from our server. Everyone was friendly. I had the salmon and it tasted delicious. It came along with a bacon topping om a bed of watercress. I cant wait to have it again. Look forward to coming im again soom.
Incredibly small menu with very limited options. Our entrees were so underwhelming and disappointing. For those prices you expect better quality. Our server was attentive and pleasant.
I loved how quiet the restaurant was on a Friday night in the heart of Santa Monica. So nice to be able to enjoy the conversation in a beauriful setting overlooking the pier. The seafood we ordered were fantastic and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
I wasn’t feeling well and our server had security open up the gift shop to get medicine after hours! Above and beyond service!!
This restaurant is NEVER opened for lunch! They directed us to their pool bar. This is Not what we were expecting as per Opentable! You confirmed our reservation when this restaurant is NOT and NEVER opened for lunch! Please check and make it better for next customer!

Great food poor service great view
Can't understand why this place is so quiet on a Saturday--great ambiance, excellent service, great food!
Great selection of menu items, but not overwhelming.
Apps: Cheese board was great. Hamachi crudo outstanding.
Entrees: My gnocchi was superb. Short rib great. All entrees agreed were great across the board.
Craft cocktail I had was delicious.
Had the donuts for dessert--very fresh and tasty with nice dipping sauces.
The hotel is beautiful, with great views--especially if you get an outside table.
Should be more people visiting this very very good restaurant!!!
Value for portion size is excellent too.
Excellent food with beautiful ocean view! Jadoori chicken and fresh fruit platter was excellent, loved s’mores dessert! Compliments to the chef!!
I went with a couple of friends at around 7pm, and it was perfect! We sat outside, but there were heat lamps to counter the chill if needed. We were offered blankets as well, but didn't need them. The entire staff was friendly and so helpful. The food was incredible. It was a perfect evening.
Mala la comida, el servicio . Fui por la vista al mar, pero no lo recomiendo
The view was amazing. Unfortunately there was a loud group of you teens at the table which was quite distracting. The food was good but not over the top good. The sea bass was good but the short ribs were overlooked. Overall a good experience
A rarity in a hotel; delicious food that is reasonable with healthy options, and option for outdoor tables with fabulous view of beach /ocean/ferris wheel on boardwalk.
Great wait staff and hostess! Food was good but more Veterans and Vegan options would be great.
The outside porch is a lovely place to eat breakfast or lunch which is what we have done often. The spinach egg Benedict is very tasty but the French Toast was disappointing. Next time we plan to have the pancakes instead.
They have good view!
We were here for a birthday dinner. The staff was very kind and attentive and really celebrated the occasion with us. We will be back for sure!
The location and view are what make this restaurant descent. Our table out on the patio was lovely and had a great view of the beach. The service was slow even though it was not busy. Our waiter was very pleasant, however. My short ribs were quite dry although delicious, and my husbands fish was rubbery and over cooked. They brought us s nice small dessert plate in honor of our anniversary which was a nice touch.
We took out of town family for dinner and were so happy we did. You can't beat the view which was gorgeous as was the sunset. The food was delicious - very creative dishes. Our waiter was very nice but he had a big party to serve so unfortunately we hardly saw him. Other than that, it was a wonderful dinner. We would definitely go back.
Although the sea bass and scallops were cooked to perfection, both dishes were swamped with so many competing flavors that it was impossible to enjoy it. It seemed that the chef was trying to use everything in the kitchen to make an impression. That said, the chocolate cake and the fruit dessert with an outstanding vanilla bourbon gelato were delightful.
David, the host, and Sean, our waiter, were fabulous and made our birthday celebration a success. We were also very pleased that the restaurant was quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
Shawn was the best waiter that I’ve ever had! The food was fantastic!!! Shawn made our special UCLA MBA celebration a smashing success!!! We’ll be back many, many more times.
