Ambiance was ok. Music was pleasant. We ordered rubin sandwich which came with fries...The worst ruben ever! French fries tasted terrible too. Peachy O'Brien tasted awful.
Greeted ignored me when I said I booked on Open Table. Thank goodness we got the points. Rest of staff was great!
Food was good but the service disappointing. Our waitress barely look at us and seemed annoyed with our presence all the time.
I was with my husband, sister and mom and wanted to show them an Irish pub because I lived there for a while and unfortunately the experience was not good.
It was a cute place. Actually got there early and we were able to get seated. Sat on the 2nd floor right near the street view of the window. Lovely seats. Unique alcoholic drinks. Loved the French onion soup and burger. I would go here again.
Even though I had a confirmed reservation via open table, the hostess told me she didn’t have it. I showed her my mobile confirmation but she me not to worry about it. I then received a cancellation email from the restaurant and had to contact open table for my points. Hostess needs training big time. Waitress was good, food average bar food. I like the O’Brien’s ale
Everything was perfect. The food was just WOW. Specially the fish and chips. The drinks were great. We had a table on the second floor. Very quiet and we appreciated. The waitress was very kind and patient. I highly recommend the pub.
The hamburgers were awful. They were not freshly made. There was little by way of ambiance or decor upstairs. I would not go back.
Went with family. Food was ok, but lacked something, a roll or side salad or something. Not forgotten, just not included. The waitress was terrible. I had to ask twice for my daughters water, then finally went to the bar to fetch it myself. Then waiting for the check, again I had to go to the bar to get it myself. Waitress never came back to check on our food or even try to sell us another round of drinks. Decor was average. Cleanliness was average.
Wonderful meal in a proper Irish pub - Felt like being back in Dublin.
Our family loves this place. We go every time we come to NYC. Their chicken pot pie is The Best!! Most of the wait staff was even born in Ireland. Their accents are so beautiful!!
We dined at the restaurant just after traveling into the city. We ordered a Reuben, Chicken relish wrap and onion soup. Everything was delicious. There could have been more corned beef on the Reuben but it was good as served. We were seated in the back of the second floor where the dining area is quiet and private. Our server was very efficient and pleasant. She always there when needed.
Great place to grab a bite. Normal pub food options. Quiet for Mother's Day which was a huge plus! I would def go back if I was in the area!
Food was good, if overpriced. Service great. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
Food was good. Service was good. We plan to go back
Staff pleasant and food very good. Menus small.
Food was absolutely delicious and our server Emily was super friendly & appropriately attentive. Great experience.
Our family had a very bad experience with our waitress who appeared to be impaired and should not have been allowed to work. We were left unattended for an extremely long time, had to deliver our own drinks from the bar that were left to get warm and eventually had to seek the assistance from another waitress. Needless to say our order was mixed up, we waited way too long for our food, which came up sporadically, making the overall experience unpleasant. The waitress who took over afterwards was exceptional and she acknowledged our displeasure. The discounted bill was certainly appreciated.
Well located for Broadway Shows. Variety of traditional pub options. Friendly service.
It was just what I was expecting. I needed dinner before an 8pm show. Service was good.
A good value and good food.
Great pub right in the middle of Times Square, but tucked away enough to feel like a small neighborhood bar. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and had no wait. The food is great and their service is awesome. Great music (pretty loud in case you're not into that) from the 80s-90s. Fair priced food and drinks. We went there the day after just to get drinks!
Ladies were seeing a show
Great food at a good price. Great wings, pot pie and bangers and mashed.
Great place to relax with friends.
food was okay - nothing special! I felt that the pricing for their tea and coffee was severely overpriced!
Went on a Friday evening before a show. Nice chill vibe. Not too loud. It’s a bar but was ok for my family with teenage girls. Good Shepard’s pie, onion rings, fries. The girls got flatbreads. I would call it higher end bar food. Was glad that it was just a calm hang out atmosphere. Friendly staff.
The family annual post Rockefeller Center tree viewing Holiday spot. This was our third year at O'Brians and they didn't disappoint. We love the small upstairs party room. Perfect size for our group.
Disappointed. In the past we used to go to Langans before or after theater. Unfortunately it closed. O'Briens doesn't measure up to Langans.
Still one of our primary "go-to" restaurant/pubs for pre-theater dinner and drinks, and by far, the very best Guinness Beef Stew of all the Irish pubs in the area. Service is always attentive, friendly and professional.
Service was very friendly and attentive. Food was good but small portions for the price, even for Times Square
It was great for our friend’s lunch get together.
Food came out timely and hot. Burger was a bit dry. Waitress was EXCELLENT!
Upstairs dining pre or post theater is great. Food is Irish focused and good sized portions. Shepards Pie may be small for a very hearty appetite. Burger or corned beef are excellent. Service can be a bit slow if the upstairs is very busy. Downstairs is an after work gathering place.
We were there for a late lunch.
The food was really good! We ordered a burger and the beef briscuit sandwich. The burger was juicy and cooked to specs (medium). The beef brisuit sandwich was delicious. The server was friendly and the food came out quickly. We had to flag down the waitress when we needed something, but it was a pretty small place and not too crowded, so it didn’t cause any problems for us. This was a nice casual place to unwind with comfort food and a beer after a long day of sightseeing.
O’Briens is a great stop, especially pre or post broadway play. Guinness is always fresh and friendly and accommodating staff. Food is yummy too.
We were the only people in the place and had to get up to ask for drinks. The water tasted terrible and affected the other drinks to because of the ice I have been there before but was very disappointed and will not return
Everything was just fine. Exactly what I expected even though I arrived early for my reservation I was seated right away. I enjoyed having Irish Pub food.
This is a great place. We only stayed in the bottomed part but we wanted the live entertainment. Even though they were late it was worth the wait. Only issue was the bartender not handling properly a drunk costumer. The beer and food selections and tastes were great with reasonable prices.
We celebrated a friend's birthday lunch at O'Brien's. Being former patrons of Langan's, we were recommended to visit O'Brien's by former Langan's associates. Food was great! Ambiance - got some Langan's feel to the upstairs. Highly recommend this friendly neighborhood pub!
