We love sitting at the Chief's table in the back, close to the kitchen. Table is always beautifully set with red napkins folded into a rose. We attend every other month.

Service very good. Lots of menu options. Crab cake was delicious! However the Lemongrass Shrimp, though very flavorful, had grossly overcooked/rubbery shrimp. Otherwise good. Did not appreciate other diners talking on cell phones or having audible messages pinging during lunch. Ambiance would have been much better if they reminded customers to put their phones on SILENT.

They work very hard to make dining pleasant. Food always good. They need to leave us more time to look at the menu. They rush that too much. Otherwise knock themselves out to make you happy. Always a good meal.

My wife and I love this place. We actually discussed that we had not been there for awhile. Food is always consistently great!

This is a well known restaurant in Bethesda. It has a tradition of great food, excellent service, and owned by someone who is there everyday. I have lunch there about once a week and have never been disappointed. Do not be put off by the new construction nearby. They are open and you will not be disappointed.

Friends and I have a tradition of Oakville Grill for lovely local dinners, and a particular holiday. The fish--often my preference--is always cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. The plating is lovely. I'm never disappointed and everyone commented on the delicious fare. We didn't have time to linger and enjoy dessert--next time!

We were warmly received by hostess & given a cozy table on the upper level. Food was delicious and creatively presented, especially the Caesar salad. We haven't been at the restaurant for some time as we had moved out of town and will definitely go back to the restaurant next time in town.

The Oakville Grill offers the best lunch salads around. The staff is attentive, friendly, discreet. It is always a pleasure to meet friends there for lunch.

Took my wife to Oakville Grill for an early, pre-concert dinner. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived but began filling up shortly thereafter. We had a nice spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. I had never seen so many artichokes in a dip before. Yum! We both had seafood dinners. They were well prepared. We had a very nice sauvignon blanc to accompany our meal. Our waitress was very friendly and competent. However, as the restaurant became more crowded, we were not checked on as frequently. I had to ask the maitre'd for our check so we could make the concert on time. We have dined here several times and will be going back.

Are wait staff was very attentive, especially to the older man and our party. All five of our entrées were outstanding. The hostess made a point of coming by to say hello when she recognized members of the party Oakville is indeed a neighborhood gem

Lovely place! We had lunch there, and were immediately welcomed and shown to our table by a very courteous hostess. The waiter was prompt but not obtrusive. We shared a shrimp and avocado salad and their version of a turkey club. Both entrees were plated very creatively, and the bread on the club was homemade and delicious. Highly recommend. Suggest making a reservation.

After looking forward to returning for a nice dinner with family, the experience was less than expected. It seemed it was waiter Fernando's first night waiting tables. He could not understand the concept of separate checks for each couple, never refilled any glasses, mixed up the plates, never brought the leftovers, which he took to be boxed. These may seem to be trivial issues, but his general demeanor made us feel unwelcome. At one point he raised his voice in anger at the hostess, unacceptable in a restaurant of this caliber. We would have enjoyed our evening with a different waiter!

Always recommend Oakville Grill when you want to be able to dine at leisure in a quiet environment. Excellent menu with fresh, seasonal ingredients. My caprese salad topped with shrimp was fantastic. Fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, with a balsamic dressing and fine shrimp. Fries another member of our party ordered were awesome. Crisp and nicely spiced on outside, moist potato inside. Nice selection of cocktails and wines.

FIrst time visiting this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed it. All of our entrees and appetizers were delicious. Service was very professional and unobtrusive. Restaurant noise level was great and we could easily carry on conversation despite two large groups being near us. I felt it was an excellent value and will definitely return.

A very good standby. Oakville is close to our house and offers good food and good wine at reasonable prices. My scallops were perfectly prepared and my husband enjoyed his Rockfish as well.

Wanted to like this but server appeared over loaded and food delivery was slow. Also, almost everything we had (mostly seafood) was overcooked, dry and tough. Disappointing, particularly given the cost and what the restaurant is clearly reaching for.

The Oakville Grille remains my favorite Bethesda restaurant. My husband and I recently took our recently widowed friend there for her birthday dinner. She was reticent to go out, but the food and the thoughtful staff made the evening very special for her. She wrote us a note the next day exclaiming about how enjoyable the evening was and how it helped her through a difficult time. As always, the food was excellent, the service thoughtful, and the ambiance just right. I highly recommend The Oakville Grille & Wine Bar!

We had the Sunday evening lobster. To my surprise it was BRoiled rather than BOiled which made it rather dry. Next time I will check ahead of time to see if it is possible to order BOiled.

Though the restaurant was in the neighborhood...we'd never been. Good reviews lead us their for a 28th anniversary, and we were glad we went. I'd even stopped in early to say we'd come, and were given a special, quiet table...but I think noise is probably not a problem with any table. Maybe we'd do wine next time, but I did a cocktail, and enjoyed it. Having read about the Rockfish being recommended, I tried it, and it was great. We'll be back...probably for another special occasion.

Not all that impressed. Service seemed aloof and overwhelmed even well before the dinner rush started. Spinach dip was decent but steaks were nearly 1/3 gristle and fat. Expected more decent cut for the price. Drinks were slow getting out.
