Oakville Grille and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Pleasantly surprised. Second visit, six diners, all enjoyed the delicate sauces and the fish and scallops were well prepared. Service was a bit strange. Wine list for glasses isn't noteworthy despite being named a wine bar. Overall good food, pleasant enough atmosphere, decent value.
Needed to have a business dinner near the Beltway, for easy on and easy off. This was perfect for that location need, and turned out to be excellent food and experience as well. The food was well prepared, and a great variety for all palates. The wine list covered things from lower priced to higher end, and the prices were not overly marked up and of good value. The service was excellent.
The food is very good, not the service though. we got there at 6:30 we had a reservation, they sat us right away but exactly an hour later at 7:30 the dinner was served , the restaurant was not super busy they had a few tables available, but it took themso long to bring the food, to our surprise during all that time waiting, not even once the server checked on us nor he explained why is taking so long or how much longer we should expect the food coming!
Service very good. Lots of menu options. Crab cake was delicious! However the Lemongrass Shrimp, though very flavorful, had grossly overcooked/rubbery shrimp. Otherwise good. Did not appreciate other diners talking on cell phones or having audible messages pinging during lunch. Ambiance would have been much better if they reminded customers to put their phones on SILENT.
This is a well known restaurant in Bethesda. It has a tradition of great food, excellent service, and owned by someone who is there everyday. I have lunch there about once a week and have never been disappointed. Do not be put off by the new construction nearby. They are open and you will not be disappointed.
Friends and I have a tradition of Oakville Grill for lovely local dinners, and a particular holiday. The fish--often my preference--is always cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. The plating is lovely. I'm never disappointed and everyone commented on the delicious fare. We didn't have time to linger and enjoy dessert--next time!
We were warmly received by hostess & given a cozy table on the upper level. Food was delicious and creatively presented, especially the Caesar salad. We haven't been at the restaurant for some time as we had moved out of town and will definitely go back to the restaurant next time in town.
Took my wife to Oakville Grill for an early, pre-concert dinner. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived but began filling up shortly thereafter. We had a nice spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. I had never seen so many artichokes in a dip before. Yum! We both had seafood dinners. They were well prepared. We had a very nice sauvignon blanc to accompany our meal. Our waitress was very friendly and competent. However, as the restaurant became more crowded, we were not checked on as frequently. I had to ask the maitre'd for our check so we could make the concert on time. We have dined here several times and will be going back.
Lovely place! We had lunch there, and were immediately welcomed and shown to our table by a very courteous hostess. The waiter was prompt but not obtrusive. We shared a shrimp and avocado salad and their version of a turkey club. Both entrees were plated very creatively, and the bread on the club was homemade and delicious. Highly recommend. Suggest making a reservation.
