   Great selection of food. Steak was cooked to perfection. Staff were really friendly.

   We had a lovely Sunday lunch here, whilst the portions are not huge, they are adequate. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly

   Firstly.. Oaks was freezing cold with other customers also complaining about this, eating meals with their coats on, as we attended for our Xmas party! Our starters came and were average, having to de shell and de vein our own prawns which isn't really acceptable for a £6.50 starter to find they were actually rather tasteless. After a VERY long wait, main course came... what a disaster!! One steak requested rare, came burnt on the outside and raw on the inside, making it tough and inedible, Two further steaks requested Medium, came chewy and well done.. accompanied with limp lettuce of some description. The accompanying sauces were equally as disappointing. Chips were ok. No one came during our meal to ask if it was ok.. resulting in one member of our party having to go and find someone to tell them how disappointing our food was. By this point everyone else was cold and hungry and had made a decision we wanted to leave. We did get 50% discounted from our food bill, however as this was our Xmas meal, it put a dampener on our evening . We will not be recommending Oaks or returning!

   What a great evening! There were 7 of us for dinner and no one was disappointed. I had the garlic chilli chicken and it was delicious. Lots of lovely cooked meat with a tasty sauce. We might have overdone it on the wine, but that was excellent too!

   The potatoes were anaemic and were not crispy in the slightest. The beef was cold.

   Food was decidedly average. I ordered the belly pork which was served with a stone cold strip of greasy crackling on top - urgh.

   as we had a 2 year old with us we thought the service was very slow. We had to ask twice where his juice was and twice where 1 of us wine was. We ordered a med/rare steak and that came and that was medium but didn't complain as we had waited a while for it to come. I had the beef dinner and that was nice. overall it will be a while before we would come again.
