Great food and great service tonight!
Wonderful dining experience starting with the shrimp corn dogs. Very creative menu including many tempting options so it is definitely worth a visit! Keep up the good work!
Shrimp corndogs were good but too bready. meatloaf was very good, touch sour, aged taste but still worth a second try. Paella was tasty. Kids choices were a bit lacking but good. Excellent quality.
food selection, presentation, and quality was outstanding. A bit pricey but worth it!
Chef Oakley is a true master of his craft. From starters to dessert, the delicious complex flavors experienced are a reflection of Chef Oakley's thoughtfulness and expertise in every dish he prepares. The staff are first class, very knowledgeable, very polite, and very attentive to detail. What a pleasure it is to have dinner at Oakley's!
We went to Oakleys Bistro to celebrate my wife's birthday and we were so glad we did. Everything was very well done from the cocktails to desert. Since it was our first time there and the menu was packed with interesting dishes we elected to forgo ordering entrees and instead ordered several items from the starters and shareable sections of the menu. I think this was a good idea because it allowed us the opportunity to see the thoughtfulness, skill and creativity that they put into every dish. The menu is seasonal I believe so it may change but we will certainly be back to see what else they have in store. Thank you to the entire Oakleys staff for a wonderful evening.
Excellent dining experience. We loved everything we ordered and would definitely dine here again.
We had a scrumptious meal shared with wonderful friends. Our server made our experience even better. Oakleys is a true gem!
We think Oakley's is the best restaurant in Indy & has been our favorite for many years. Menu changes with the seasons but the iconic favorites (ex: shrimp corn dogs) are always there. Beautiful, creative & delicious food every time! Service has never disappointed & love seeing Chef Steve Oakley in the kitchen most of the time.
We all loved our dinners at Oakleys. It's pretty noisy but you honored my request for a booth away from the front of the restaurant and that worked out nicely.
I feel like 5 stars isn’t enough to do this place justice. It’s the best food in town. We did 7 different appetizers and starters instead of an entree. They were all amazing.
Really good food, fun and deep new flavors to try. The service was exceptional, the tables are a bit close and easy to hear each other’s conversation. I would love to go back!
Oakley’s is the most consistently excellent restaurant that we’ve frequented in our fifteen years in Indy. We’ve learned to trust Steve’s flavor combinations- he’s got “It”. On our last visit my wife and I both had the lamb tenderloin- spectacular! Trends come and go, it’s attention to detail that allows great restaurants to sustain.
We had a wonderful time at Oakley’s Bistro! The service was impeccable and the food proved to be amazing dish after dish! We will definitely be back to Oakley’s soon!
It was great
We love to eat out, and have heard so much about Oakley’s that we wanted to try it. Maybe the build up was too much, but honestly, we were disappointed. We found it average. My husband had lamb that had very poor flavor. My salad was good though! Probably will not go back.
Neat place, but I’m hard on them for two things: 1-for the price, ($150 + for 3 people; 1 entree was ordered) I expect more and 2-they didn’t seem to have enough serving help. I got 2 glasses of wine & neither came quickly-I was almost done with what each was to be paired with by the time I got them.
My dessert was presented nicely, but was not remarkable-tiny scoops of ice cream and little squares of chocolate cake. Creme brûlée was good.
The ‘Beat Bobby Flay ‘ corn dogs can be skipped.
The small plates are nice, and everything is ala carte, so we got to try & share a few.
Our waiter was very nice, just overloaded.
They did keep up on supplying water well. Looked like they had some neat specialty cocktails, though we didn’t order any. Interesting beer list-1 was ordered at our table.
Oakley's is by far the best restaurant in Indianapolis. It is also my personal favorite. It has never disappointed. His Duck and Duck is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. The staff are always kind and attentive. I don't think I have ever visited Indy without having dinner there.
Really great all around- will be on my list on my next visit to Indianapolis.
Unique dishes & flavor combinations made for a good meal. The service & attention we were given by the staff made for a great evening.
We drove in from out of town to take our daughter and her fiancé out to celebrate her birthday. This was our first dinner at Oakleys bistro. It was a wonderful experience. The bartender definitely knew what they were doing. Our tastes were varied and our cocktails included a very dry martini, a Moscow mule, a sidecar (I thought it was 1940) and a craft beer. All perfect. Our server couldn’t have been more personable and informative. We had one in our party that is a bit hesitant to try new things which made a beautiful, creative menu like this a bit of a challenge. We began with a couple shareables. A bacon wrapped apricot (who doesn’t like bacon) and some buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower was perfectly cooked, not too raw, not too mushy. Both were delicious. Since it was a celebration we opted to save room for dessert and forgo a healthier soup or salad. My husband ordered the night’s special entree. Unfortunately they were out of the featured fish, walleye, his favorite. Our server explained the chef would have to substitute cod. It was melt in your mouth and he didn’t miss his favorite at all. Our less adventurous diner ordered the honey smoked short ribs. He said they were the best he’d ever had and finished every bite. My daughter and I love duck so we both ordered the duck and duck. Perfectly done, we enjoyed every bite. All of the sauces, spices, accompanying sides were beautiful and perfectly complimented the featured food. Everything, including deserts, were made in house. We chose two. A combination of delicious chocolate concoctions, beautifully plated (one came with a festive lit candle). I make a pretty mean creme brûlée so I rarely order it out but I couldn’t resist. I was not sorry. It had a lovely flavor, was perfectly silky with just enough crisp brûlée to top it off. The comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere makes this a perfect restaurant for a special night out or a normal dinner with friends or family. We all highly recommend it.
Truly One of Indy’s Best chefs and restaurateurs! If you haven’t dined at OAKLEYS then you are missing out on how good food can be in Indianapolis!
Simply the best in every way! Great service, great food, pleasant setting. Our first choice when you really want it to be special! Thanks Chef!
Best kept secret in Indy.
Excellent experience. Food and service was exceptional. It is now a top favorite of ours.
This is an exquisite restaurant. One of the best in Indy! The food is prepared and presented so, so well! Highly recommended!
There were four of us in our party and everyone of us was exceptionally pleased with our service and our food. Tow of us had salmon and two had the tilapia. Both dishes were outstanding! The preparation of the Tilapia was perfect. The vegetable combination along with the risotto were just exquisite with the fish. We also shared dessert, and it was the ideal finish.
Not a great experience. Very unwilling to accommodate. Wouldn’t host guests there again.
This restaurant is a treasure. Every aspect of its operation is outstanding.
Oakley's is our absolute go-to "nicer" restaurant. It never disappoints! On this evening, I met a friend to share a bottle of wine, shared appetizers and shared entree, and it was exactly what we both needed! Outstanding food and service - always!
Birthday for husband. Great place to celebrate.
Food was so good.
The prime rib dumplings are our new favorite.
The food was excellent. We loved the shrimp corn dogs and the Tennessee egg rolls. I would have liked bread with the artichoke soup. Our waiter was amazing. It was a fun night!!
Wonderful service and food!!
Food was great
I have been several times and have never been disappointed. The food was outstanding! Had some family members with me that had not been before. They are still talking about it. Can't wait to go back.
Always awesome food and service. Never disappointed.
I was happy I dined here during my visit in Carmel. The place is at a mall. It has a real bistro ambiance. The receptionists were welcoming. The menu is a good bistro-style menu with a good selection of wines especially the single pour options. However, the service was very rushed. I ordered a white wine to start, I go to the powder room to wash my hands and my first course was already sitting even before my wine arrived. I finish ,y first course and in less than 2 minutes, the second course comes in. I order a glass of red wine for my third course and I had to ask the server to please return back my main course so I could at least give myself a rest and enjoy sipping my wine. They were at least apologetic. Would I go back, I would!
Nice dining experience, but would have liked a few more menu selections to choose from.
