Wonderful from start to finish!
As expected Oakley’s never disappoints! The food is phenomenal, cocktails are always exceptional, and the service is impeccable. Even with many amazing new dining options in Indianapolis this place continues to be our favorite.
Been there numerous times and it never disappoints! Had Ken as our waiter. He was very informative, funny and allowed us to have a nice relaxed dinner but kept us on task to make sure we enjoyed the full experience including the amazing desserts. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Butternut squash and fennel soup was incredibly good. Lunch entrees were good and selections for lunch a nice change. Not super crowded or noisy. Worth the premium lunch price for the relaxing atmosphere, good food and good service.
We enjoyed the dinner very much and have alreadya recommended Oakley's Bistro to friends. Service was outstanding and the excellent food (lamb special) was prepared quickly. Perhaps you could offer a small portion of some interesting rolls or breads with dinner. The wine list was a bit thin and drinks were over priced but tasty. A little bit noisy ambiance, definitely not fit for a romantic dinner. Creme brulee was exceptional.
The food was glorious! Not cheap but worth every penny. The chef does an amazing job pairing flavors for a true culinary experience. The wait staff rises to the occasion. Worth a visit and many returns!
Always a treat. Simply the best dining experience.
Food was outstanding, but our waiter failed to mention any of the specials for the evening. Additionally, he made every table he waited on order their complete food order at the same time (appetizers, starters and entree). We also observed that he didn’t mention any of the specials to any of his other tables.
Phenomenal food and presentation. Nice teamwork amongst staff; however, our waitress was not what we'd expect from a restaurant of this quality. We have been to this restaurant before and had stellar service. Perhaps she was just having a off night. We made reservations but did not specify a table. We were more out in the open, so in the future, I'd ask for a more private table.
Always great for and service. Now a James Beard finalist, Oakley's is wonderful!
Food was fabulous. Beautiful presentation and portion size was perfect. Wait staff attentive but not intrusive. That’s always anfine balanace. We will definitely be back!
Dined at on 3/2/19. Foodie friends of ours highly recommended Oakleys to us, so we thought we would give it a try. The location is a little incongruous, in a strip mall by Stein Mart, not what I expected for fine dining......but that also gives lots of parking and it was easy to get in and out. The restaurant was really busy, I did not see an empty table. We had only made our reservations earlier in the day, so we were not surprised to be on a table for two in the most trafficked part of the restaurant with servers whizzing by us almost continuously. It was kind of what we expected for booking so late and not requesting a booth. We both ate an appetizer, entrée and shared dessert and we both enjoyed an Italian margarita at the bar, which was delicious and well made. Both of us had wine by the glass, the red (cab sav) was excellent and very good value at $12 per glass...I really liked it. The chardonnay was ok. We agreed the food was exceptional, well presented, beautifully plated, tasty with lots of fabulous flavor. We loved it. Our server was ok, not overly friendly to be honest, she was very busy and we did have a few others bring food and drinks out to us. It was hard to tell who was who though. My advice is: book and request a booth or table not in the center of high traffic area. The restaurant is not huge and the kitchen is open to diners, which we like. However, the ventilation was struggling to keep up, so by the end of the night we left with clothes that smelled of the kitchen cooking smells. Overall we loved the food, it truly is outstanding and the drinks were fabulous. The location is great.....we did not have to drive to downtown Indy for fabulous food and parking was easy. If they could improve the ventilation so we did not leave smelling like we had just cooked the dinner, that would be super awesome and I would give 5 stars across the board. We plan to return soon....just not on a busy Saturday night.
We have never ever had anything but an excellent experience at Oakley's.
The food was pretty good, but the French onion soup was extremely sweet and salty at the same time.
Short Rib was fantastic and the meatloaf is a must have
Always great food and exceptional service. One of the best restaurants in Indy.
Our first visit to Oakley's. Great atmosphere and food. Our server was very informative and knowledgeable. We ordered from the menu and enjoyed our experience. We plan to return soon and try the chef's specials.
wonderful dinner....great server. Small, nicely lit restaurant. great vibe.
I’ve never had a bad experience not once ! Great place ! The service exceeds expectations every time ! Friendly ! These people all care about the restaurant and it’s patrons ! A rarity anymore it seems ! I appreciate it and will be back many many more times !
Varied menu, great flavors, super friendly staff. A hidden gem, easy access on north side.
Excellent service (Thans Mary!) and food, as always.
Its always one of our favorite restaurants in Indianapolis. Great food and great service!
Wonderful food and service!
Service was fantastic and the service had to maneuver in a very tight area. The poblano soup was outstanding. The puffed pastry of the tart was overbaked and fairly dry, but the pork on top was very flavorful. The food here is always creative and interesting. I definitely recommend it.
Arrival went well. Drinks were delivered promptly. Ordered a starter for entire table; it was very slow in arriving, but when it arrived, it was excellent. Otherwise, service was excellent -- was very helpful with one member of group had difficulty choosing what to order due to food allergy problems -- took ample time to assist!! Overall, evening was very pleasant.
We go to Oakleys often, and it's always wonderful. This time, they had a lobster salad and tuna special. It was AMAZING! That was the best salad I have ever had.
I’ve gone to Oakley’s since it first opened. Last night was a culinary disappointment. The service was exceptional, better than ever, but the food not so much. The deviled eggs had no flavor whatsoever. The shrimp corndog’s crust wasn’t done but the short rib dumplings were delicious. I ordered the lobster bisque because it’s always good but last night it was a garbanzo bean bisque. Good flavor but way too many beans and no bits of lobster. My friend had the Caesar salad and enjoyed it. Main course was salmon filet. It was a salmon filet with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in. One broccoli floret, 2 pieces of diced tomato, a few snap peas and a pound of sunflower seeds, and maybe a few things I missed. I ate two bites of it, and didn’t bring the rest home. A very disappointing experience.
Good food, unique entrees, right portions, and good service. Good selection of wine and cocktails too! Can’t go wrong with this place!
Fine food and dining experience far beyond the ordinary.
Best restaurant in Indianapolis by far!
I love Oakleys so much. It is one of the few restaurants in the city guaranteed to deliver on the food, the cocktails (and I am quite particular about cocktails), and the service. Truly a life-enhancing experience. Do yourself a favor and go regularly!
Amazing food and presentation. Great staff and excellent service. A little cramped and noisy, but not so much that you could not hear your guest. Definitely one of Indy’s best and never an off night in over 15 years I have eaten here.
Thus was our first visit here. Very pleased. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent. We will be back.
Unique dishes perfectly prepared and seasoned. My wife doesn't like meatloaf but, always orders it at Oakley's Bistro. The appetizers and side are just as exceptional. Highly recommend.
Oakley's never disappoints - every dish is always exceptional. We sat at the small bar area and had great conversations with some of the staff and watched the preparations of the dishes - fun way to dine.
Every time my wife and I have dined at Oakley's the food has always been beyond exceptional. Unfortunately, this most recent visit left us rather underwhelmed. We each ordered a full meal with appetizer, soup, salad, entree and dessert. Sadly, each course just seemed rather bland and left us thinking, "meh, what happened?"
We'll probably be back as it's our favorite "special occasion" place. Perhaps it was just one of those nights. (?) LeBron doesn't sink every basket he shoots. Hopefully the next time we'll have the amazing experience we're used to.
I emailed my feedback to the restaurant about my experience and received no response. Jack was an incredible server as usual. We will go back thanks to his professionalism, attention to detail and knowledge of the menu.
This our favorite restaurant in Indianapolis. The food is outstanding and great service.
Outstanding! We enjoyed the Valentine's prix fixe menu. Sublime!
