Great food and service
This is always one of our favorites!!! We love dining on the patio, surrounded by Oak Trees and twinkle lights. Even as the evenings get cooler, there are plenty of heaters available. The service is always wonderful, and never "in your face", including the lovely hostess. I had the Chicken Picatta this time, with the fresh linguine...best one I've ever had. Its not a huge menu, but complete and each dish done beautifully. You just can't go wrong here.
My quinoa salad with shrimp and avacado was amazing. The French dip beef was amazing also.
Beautiful outdoor dining with comfortable seating, delicious food and excellent service!
Ernesto was a great server! Very attentive & pleasant! Only complaint is that although there were several empty tables on the patio the whole time we were there , they refused to give us a patio table.
This place is mine and my boyfriend’s favorite place for date night! The outdoor sitting is romantic and so peaceful. The drinks are great! The staff is friendly as well. Highly recommend!
Food was tasty as always. The service was poor. This is the second time in a row that I have visited and the service was disappointing. I am not a regular customer who visits weekly but my partner and I like to have the occasional date night here. This recent visit, I came to celebrate my mother's birthday and I was a little embarrassed that I had to flag down the waiter or bus boy for every little thing. It looked like they had a private party in a separate room but they could have paid better attention to us seeing as though the rest of the dining room was not busy at all. We were sat down at our table and 10 minutes went by before anyone came to greet us. Our waiter came and took our drink order which took another 10 minutes to make it to the table. Throughout dinner I had to stop other waiters and ask for water/drink refills. My friend ordered a cocktail halfway through her dinner and they must have forgotten to make it because 15 min later nothing had arrived. At the end of our dinner, I thought we would get a complimentary mini dessert for my mother's birthday (I've been here before to celebrate and have been served something small and cute) but the waiter came by, took our plates, dropped off the check, and left. Overall, I just think they need to give equal attention to all paying customers.
A little pricey but fast and good service and great food!
We love dining at Oak Grill - the patio is just about the most perfect setting around. Tonight my husband had Chef Brittany’s special which he said was absolutely amazing. We had Ernesto as our server this evening and found him to be wonderfully attentive and actually made the recommendation of the special. We will be back
I wanted my family to love the Oak Grill. The ambiance was perfect. But the food was disappointing. Three people ordered the hamburger......each one of them was overcooked. Two people ordered the sea bass.....it was just ok and both people said they would not order it again. Tiffany was our server and she did an outstanding job in taking care of us.
Nice outdoor dining ambience under a beautiful tree!Birthday celebrations for our family. Everyone was pleased with their dining experiences! Definitely a pleasant dinner!
Wine service was terrible. If you are going to charge $30 per bottle corkage, the server can at least bring out glasses promptly and serve the wine. Our server never poured our wine… We had to do it ourselves, which is no big deal, but one would expect better service at a restaurant like this.
Group of lady friends celebrating a birthday.
Waiter John was wonderful, the second time we've had him and we will ask for him again the next time we get together.
On vacation, and Oak Grill was highly recommended to us.
The food, service and atmosphere lived up to all my expectations.
I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Thank you for a lovely dining experience.
I have never had a good lunch at Oak Grill, nor has my order ever been correct. Our lunch for three consisted of a $14 "bowl" of tortilla soup, described as a medium-sized serving (it appeared to be less than 8 oz), and two $22 lobster salads. There were four bites of lobster knuckles in each salad, and two bites of avocado; and although I requested no corn in my salad, it had corn. We received menus with two different prices, and joked with the waiter about it (because it was obvious one was an outdated menu that shouldn't have been distributed), and when he brought the check he said they had matched the price...well, one would have assumed that meant they used the pricing from the older menu, but lo and behold, they "matched" the higher prices...well, that hardly deserved a mention, did it?
I have previously tried a cobb salad, requesting no corn, and there was corn. It was supposed to have avocado, but did not. I dined there with a group another time and had the absolute worst French Dip ever: I requested medium rare meat, and was told that would not be a problem, and i said that if it couldn't be medium rare I would gladly order something else, but the meat was well done and very tough the roll was terrible, and the au jus very salty - just not enjoyable on any level.
I will say that the food that is served fireside at lunch, although it is from the same kitchen, is MUCH better and certainly less expensive, and I enjoy eating there quite frequently. Why the kitchen can't manage to serve good food in their main dining room at much higher prices is beyond my comprehension.
Love the view, music, and food. Waitress was wonderful and helpful.
Another great day in Newport Beach
Another great experience! 🙏🏻
The food and service was superb. We loved the ambiance and the relaxing atmosphere. The noise level was very comfortable for talking and enjoying a meal with friends.
Great environment with exceptionally good food and presentation.
We went for breakfast, very nice place, vibe, excellent service, and exquisite food.
This was a birthday celebration. Oak Grill has a lovely patio and our request for an outside table was granted. The service was excellent. Both the host and our server were so accommodating and willing to help make our celebration really special. We truly appreciate that!
Our group of 5 all ended up ordering one of the lunch sandwiches. Unfortunately the shrimp and swordfish sandwiches were just ok as they tasted bland. It was a little disappointing because I have been here for dinner and the entrees were excellent. But thankfully dessert (we ordered 3 to share which were presented on a platter with “Happy Birthday” written in chocolate) was not only pretty & festive, but each one of the dessert selections was absolutely delicious. It was a lovely afternoon, our lunch proceeded at a perfectly unhurried pace and at all times we felt well cared for. Overall a great experience. Thank you!
The quality of the food wasn't up to the standards of the Oak Grill. We were disappointed. Our server was good however! You can see we are continuing patrons of Oak Grill, and we brought friends who had never been there before, so it was sad. We will return however, hoping it will be a better experience.
Food was sub par. Price was not worth the quality of the food . Service was good but would not return
2nd time we've been there in the last month...both times service was slow and poor.
We are frequent diners here and it is the whole experience that keeps us coming back - right from the experience with the valet to the end of our dinner and back to the valet
Not much to say except, I had the WORST HAMBURGER EVER. Over cooked 😫 over played with pickles 😱
To bad the place is beautiful 🍴
Unfortunately this restaurant has gone downhill. There was one roll in the basket, and it was dried out. There used the past to be different kinds of rolls and large crackers. The Seabass is very expensive at $37, and it was good. Only good. In the past it was done differently and was excellent. Service was indifferent. Best thing was dining outside in the nice weather.
Beautiful restaurant. Great atmosphere and perfect for celebrations or get togethers with friends!
Worst service in Newport Beach. Three waiters serving only 7 tables when we sat down around 11:05am. Beverage didn’t come to table for 20-25 minutes. Our waiter was not friendly, felt like he hated his job. So regretted to choose this place for gathering with family who traveled a distance to be here. Would not go for breakfast or brunch again. Plenty other choices in the area. PS.: My coffee cup had a baby spider and we asked for a new cup. Waiter just said “O—K”
Amazing, amaIng experience. Will definitely be coming back...for the food, of course, but mostly because of Aaron's great customer service.
Oak Grill does not disappoint. We dined at the restaurant four times during our stay @ Fashion Island Hotel. The service is friendly and professional, the food is consistently delicious and there is a great variety to choose from on the menu for all meals.
Always very wonderful, sometimes a bit pricy.
Love the location and the food, everything is at ease and relaxing
Food was spectacular! Great place for our anniversary!
Wonderful outdoor setting and ambiance. Catch live music on most evenings.
Always a great time when I go with employees or clients
