We live near downtown and love to dine out. Three times in recent memory we have had to wait almost an hour after ordering before getting our entrees. The most recent was Friday night - we arrived just after 9 (late so tables clearing out), received fast service for ordering and got our salad within a reasonable amount of time, but did not get our entrees until almost 10:30 - our server did not even acknowledge the huge wait. We are now done with Oak and will let friends thinking of going to plan on a 45-60 minute wait after ordering. This is not our experience at any of the other higher end restaurants in downtown.

We enjoyed excellent food with good service. But in my opinion this restaurant is too rushed and noisy to qualify as a fine dining venue. But this is not unusual these days.

I love coming to this restaurant when I am in town. Service is incredible, this restaurant has a very imaginative chef. The flavors and mixed textures in every dish are incredible. Great mixed bar drinks as well. We made a dinner of appetizers all four were great. Just can't go wrong here!!

I love this restaurant! The food is creative and delicious, while the atmosphere is still totally unpretentious. My husband and I only get to Boulder once a year. Our fabulous meal last year made me book it again this year, and it was just as good. Highly recommended for foodies.

It is too warm in the restaursnt you need ceiling fans
Thermostat said 84 degrees and it was 95 outside
Service was very very good from hostess to servers
Food was ok
Not really great not as good as people said

This is my 3rd meal at Oak over the past year, and they have exceeded expectations each visit. The server was both extremely attentive and knowledgeable with intricacies of not only the food, but also the cocktail and wine list. We shared 3 small plates, that were all fantastic, one being the basic fried pickles with a green goddess dipping sauce, that is 2nd to none compared to any of the top area restaurants. Their batter is light and airy, and is the perfect batter to pickle ratio, between that batter texture and pickle chip thickness. We also had the hamachi crudo appetizer with a passion fruit and citrus sauce that was to die for. The cheese and fava bean app was delicious as well and extremely well balanced. my date had the mushroom tortellini in a light parmesan and lemon sauce, while I had the Halibut over a mixed heirloom bean salad and a green olive tapenade, which was very nice balance between the light perfectly seared fish, the hearty & savory bean salad and the salt tapenade. We were too full for desert, and we both enjoyed excellently mixed cocktails and 2 nice glasses of wine that paired nicely with our dinners.
