We LOVE Oak & Ember! Always. So thankful to have a place close by to us that has a weekly vegetarian sampler that is thoughtfully prepared, beautiful to look at and always absolutely delicious! We are looking forward to bringing guests this weekend.
We would rate Oak and Ember as one of the best restaurants on Cape Cod-period. We have been to world renowned eateries in NYC and you could honestly believe that Oak and Ember was in downtown Manhattan. While the decor is beautifully upscale, the atmosphere is warm, casual and welcoming. The food is superb, the staff is skilled and it is the only place we've been where we would recommend eating at the bar.
It has been our favorite restaurant for some time and our only regret is that we recently moved out of state. We chose it for our last dining experience on the Cape before leaving. We will have a hard time finding another place that equals Oak and Ember as our go to favorite place to eat.
We love Oak & Ember for a special date night, but the burgers are great for any ol' night out. Whisky flights are a drew for us, as well.
Our server was personable & passionate about the food. I miss the grits, but our meals were perfect.
Wonderful ambiance and service. Food was very tasty. Crab cakes were very small.
We had a great meal and server(Jeff) who was extremely knowledgeable. We highly recommend the restaurant. On this occasion, we had the duck spring roll appetizer(outstanding) and loved our entrees-scallops and duck.
The menu is varied and has a great selection, mixing in some southern style meals and drinks.
If you enjoy scotch and bourbon there are many choices. Our only criticism was that the noise level was very high.
Waitress was extremely accommodating to all of a member of our party's allergies!
Homemade bread and specialty butter,,, amazing appetizers (with house made bacon) mashed potatoes that were amazing (yes I know you would think what?, but so many restaurants can't do mashed taters right) then homemade choc. sauce for the desserts.. this foodie was in heaven!
Food was excellent.
I had the club steak which was great.
We are at the bar after initially sitting outside. Not her fault, but the waitress outside was occupied with a large group with children of various ages which was obviously taking her full attention and all her time. We relocated to the bar and had a wonderful dinner.
Fabulous server and food was great! Great spot and comfortable
Food and service were great - we were a party of 4 and everyone loved their food. Only negative is noise - we were there on a Saturday night and it was noisy. We were given a table in bar area and it was difficult to have a conversation.
Second time at the restaurant and our server was excellent as was the food.
Loved the whiskey menu. Great steak and service. Dining area is spacious but gets kind of loud
Please don't leave Mashpee!! Oak and Ember has transformed themselves as the BEST restaurants on the Cape! Jeffrey our waiter was not only knowledgeable about the wine list and made some fabulous recommendations about the menu. Our third time back since reopening and we had Jeffrey twice. Jeffrey even remembered how I ordered my filet. Great service, ambiance and food!!
Very good food, great service, and well decorated and lighted.
Fantastic. We were visiting friends and decided to try something new. Great choice! Will definitely visit again!
Wonderful food and great service!! Unique food combinations with wonderful flavors!
We were pleasantly surprised considering this restaurant had been a number of other eateries that had not made it. The service was outstanding and the food beautifully prepared. We will definitely return.
We had a very nice dining experience. No complaints.
This was our second visit. Terrific whiskey bar. Food quality and presentation is excellent and consistent. Wait staff was very attentive amd nice ambience. When we arrived we requested being seated at a different table. The hostess said she would have to check to see if the table was reserved. That seemed really corny as we had made a reservation weeks ahead.
Food was mediocre. I guess I was expecting a "steak house" experience, but it's really no more than a pub. They also committed a service error for which I have ZERO tolerance ... I finished my entrée first and my plate was cleared and I was asked if I'd like to see the dessert menu, while the other person at my table was still eating their entrée.
Last time O&E was in the same spot, 2 years ago, I think, the food and overall experience were outstanding. This year, it was a very nice evening out but lacked here and there.
They offer a prix fixe (PF) for $35, which is a great value. No substitutions, but decent choices. 3 of us opted in for the PF:
My husband ordered the soup du jour, which he said was good but he didn't know what it was. He also ordered the Fire Roasted Chicken, which he said was good.
My dad and son ordered the Wedge Salad (on the PF menu). My son traded his for the Kobe Beef Corn Dogs ($8) my mom ordered (not PF). The wedges were good but the corn dogs, shaped more like lollipops, were overly coated.
2 Fried Chickens (my son thought it was a little dry but my dad enjoyed it). Side of honey condiment arrived several minutes after the chicken was served.
I started with the Grilled Peach Salad ($10). My peaches and those accompanying the ribs were not even close to ripe. Non-PF entrees included Smoked Baby Back Ribs ($22) (needed more sauce—my daughter should have asked for more) that came with Potato Salad and 2 small Roasted Corn on the Cobs, all okay; and 2 Duck Breasts ($25 each) off the bone, with lots of meat—very good.
Desserts were "mini" versions but we're still good sizes: Beignets were excellent, the Lemon Meringue Cloud was fine but didn't live up to its name.
Overall, the portions were very good.
$199 (with basic beverages) for 6 people—pretty good!
Booths are comfortable. Round booths for 4-6 (with a squeeze) are fun.
Plenty of free parking in the area.
We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was because we were not pleased with the old Oak & Ember. We love the ambiance and it is a great place to meet with friends. Our servicer was great but we were not pleased that the would not split a before dinner salad in the kitchen to share. All the restaurants in the area do this so I would suggest the management change their policy and why we did not give them 5 stars for service.
We were Very impressed with the restaurant. The menu had something for all. The service was great. We would definitely return .
Fantastic as always. LOVE that they have a daily vegetarian special that is truly 'foodie' worthy.
The chef is an artist. So SO happy the Oak and Ember is back.
The friendly wait staff was very attentive. The food was excellent! The bartender was very knowledgeable and passionate about scotch. Overall fantastic night, and a fantastic value!
Everything was great even accommodating our gluten-free guest. Nicely done!!
Another great dinner at oak and ember. We loved our steaks and burgers. Beautiful restaurant. Jeff , our waiter, was outstanding.
Third visit. Food consistently good, arrives hot, nicely presented, and nice sized portion. Love option of mini desserts, half size portion, to satisfy sweet tooth. Attentive but not over bearing service.
Good whiskey menu and nice eclectic menu for the cape. Very cool restaurant.
The restaurant has nice ambiance but terrible service. We waited 45 mins. for apps & 1 1/2 hrs for entree!
As someone who lives on Cape Cod year round; I have found that many times food and service suffers in the summer season. NOT HERE.
The restaurant is hip, has class, and feels like a city steakhouse.
The menu offers something for everyone.
There are small plates. Smoked oysters were the best. A great wedge salad, Simple yes, but their dressing is so well made.
The corn bisque was the best soup we have had in years.
I had the rib eye steak; melt in your mouth perfect. The temp was right on; M/R
The care to cook a Great steak is shown here, quality, aging, resting.
My wife had the special Halibut. Pan seared with a stuffed local squash with creamed spinach. JUST WOW! So fresh, So good. And the chocolate cake is heaven.
Many wines by the glass; and a good full bottle list.
They make every effort for their guests to find great food, great drinks, Great service, in a wonderful space.
Bartenders who know service and how to make a good drink.
This is also a cutting edge Whiskey/flights bar. GREAT!
Our server Ron was great.
We will return for great service, and some of the best food we have found.
We welcome this great restaurant back.
The owners Rob and Sheri, and their family are doing a great job. 100%
First time here. Sat at the bar. Great food service was great fun vibe. My aviation drink was pink not purple?
This was the second time we tried the restaurant. The first time it was quite busy and we did not mind the wait. Last night was interminable. About an hour for the food. My food was overcooked and cold.
The kitchen clearly does not have its act together. I felt sorry for the server it wasn't her fault.
We ordered from the prix fixe menu and everything was delicious! Who knew that a wedge salad, fried chicken, mac 'n' cheese + dessert would be our favorite meal out in a long time! Both the standard new menu AND the prix fixe are great!
Great service! Delicious meal! Absolutely loved the 3 for $25 menu.
Great service and drinks. Apps and most entrees were pretty good, club steak was just average.
We were anxious to try Oak and Ember since it re-opened. The Prixe-Fix menu gave us the opportunity when friends visited. There were 4 of us, and each of us ordered something different. We were all very happy with our choices. The food was presented beautifully. The flavors were a delight. Our waiter was knoweldgeable, friendly and helpful. The drinks from the bar were excellent. We had a wonderful time. We're looking forward to going back. Great job!
Nice place, though the service was spotty. Lousy, watery Old Fashioned (sent it back for a glass of wine). Good scallops, though served with a beet risotto which was the color of Pepto Bismol (tasted fine, but not enough beet to warrant the color). Food was fairly priced for Cape Cod. Working hard it seemed and will likely get better.
This was our second time at Oak and Ember and we had two completely different experiences. One of our wedge salads was not as good as the others. One of our meals had to be sent back because the meat was too rare and the other meat dinner was tough. My fish dinner was raw at the center. The restaurant was very busy and everyone was working to get food out from the kitchen I would return to Oak and Ember, but our guests were very disappointed I would have to rate our dining experience as fair at best. Service was exceptional..
Service good, waitress pleasant, took our orders correctly, 4 of us had sirloin steak, ordered medium & medium/rare , identifying markers were correct in the steaks, however all steaks were over cooked and tough , certainly not worth $29 charge. Presentation good
