Best dinner ever! We got the Omakase. Each course is small, but full of flavor. Desserts are excellent too!
Very professional and friendly staff. It is always a great experience every time my fiancé and I go there.
After years of being told, "you need to go to o ya," I finally made a reservation and headed over to sit at the Chef's bar with my son, another sushi enthusiast and foodie. Our meal was superb from start to finish. We had o ya's Grand Omakase so we could experience the full range of the restaurant's food, and we weren't disappointed for a single bite. We opted to order our own sake rather than a pairing, and for us, that really worked since we know what type of sake we really enjoy. This isn't an inexpensive adventure. In fact, there aren't many that are more expensive in Boston. But it was completely worth it.
Our menu started with a beautiful oyster with watermelon pearls, and
then moved on to creative sushi, followed by their version of sashimi, followed by cooked foods and dessert. There were 24 courses in total since they added something not on the menu in the middle, and we finished with beautiful chocolates.
I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that the service was perfection. We were attended to constantly, and we never had to guess what we were eating. Our servers were always there to make sure we were happy.
If you're on the fence about going to o ya, and you can afford the indulgence, I couldn't recommend it more.
Amazing food and just an awesome experience! Thank you for the great service!
Great loved it
All I can say is wow !
This was the most perfect restaurant experience my wife and I have ever had. There was not one iota of the meal we would change.
The best food in Boston and I don’t say that without a lot of thought. Outstanding service as well. A must for any foodie. Casual relaxed atmosphere. It’s gotten international attention as well. On our last visit we sat next to a restaurateur from Berlin who was traveling to a few places in the US to get some new ideas.
Amazing attention to detail... each bite is like the only bite.
As someone who work in a restaurant this restaurant take you on a journey with their service and food. Everything was excellently crafted from their sashimi to their fried mochi doughnuts. Anni, our server hospitality was 2nd to none!
What a lovely dinner! Such great, thoughtful service. Everything was exquisite.
This is the second time I have been to O Ya and I will be back again. The food is better than amazing and the staff is knowledgeable about all of the crazy sushi and immense wine/sake list. Every roll was a flavor bomb exploded and then danced around my mouth with every bite.
No joke sushi
Amazing food. Did the 17 course tasting menu- was out of this world. Truly a special occasion treat, looking forward to my next dining experience with O Ya!
Simply an amazing culinary experience. Michael and Kate made the evening truly memorable. Cant wait to go back.
The overall experience at O Ya was phenomenal. The food was absolutely delectable and the service and atmosphere were incomparable. I look forward to my next visit.
In all the places in the world, o ya is my favorite restaurant. It’s that simple.
An outrageously expensive experience ... worth every penny!
The sushi is high quality but the portion size is tiny. Other sushi restaurants have equal quality at more reasonable prices. There is no reason to support this restaurant unless you like overpaying.
Been to many sushi places and this place is right there with the best of them. Got the grand omakase and each small bite was spot-on with taste and beauty. All the ingredients used were top quality and amazingly decadent and indulgent: uni, truffle, osetra caviar, toro, swordfish belly, dark chocolate, etc. go for a mind-blowing experience!
Can’t say enough good things about this place.... Total culinary experience!
O’YA is the best sushi! We are from Hawaii and have tons of great sushi available but this is our 2nd time in Boston and 2nd time at O’YA and it is amazing! Will be back again!!!
The food was extraordinary. Each dish presented was a work of art and delicious! Our server made the overall experience so special as she was not only helpful but shared in our delight as we enjoyed the evening!
Absolutely sublime! Everything from your greeting, the decor, service and exquisite cuisine is spot on. Highly recommend the Grand Omakase and Sake pairing. It is expensive but totally worth it. Our waiter Tim was both engaging and knowledgeable
It was fantastic. The servers and the cooks were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Loved chatting about how the food was cooked and about the alcohol background.
Generally amazing and staff smile beautifully which is good. There is only thing a little surprising that, with my reservation and on time arrival, we still have to stand out there for a while with some tables and bar-seats available in there. But food is totally amazing!!!! Though really expensive
Probably the best meal/ chef in Boston today. Hard to get a table. Very expensive. But absolutely worth it for transcendent food.
This was perhaps the best food I've ever eaten...Seriously.
However... I booked o ya 3 weeks in advance and confirmed with the reception on the date that I made the reservation that we would have a table for 4. They screwed up the my reservation. If you book through Open Table, you will be given the Sushi bar...not very accommodating for 4 people who are looking to talk. Be sure to call them and confirm if you want a table. I was a little surprised that didn't offer us something as an apology.
That being said, the rest of the experience was fantastic. That being said, the rest of the experience was fantastic. The fois gras w/ chocolate was the best mouthful of food I have ever had. Highly recommended.
One of the best restaurant experiences that we've ever had. Very high price point but worth it for special occasions.
It is very good, just not as expected. We can see our dish got ready but it was not served as soon as I want. Don't like it.
The bluefin maguro, uni toast, and salmon rau ram were particular highlights.
Food was excellent and staff and atmosphere was lovely. The food portions are extremely small (2 or 3 pieces) and very expensive.
I wanted to love this place for so many different reasons. Most of the food was very good but a fair amount was just ok and the most disappointing thing was that most of the menu was WAYYYY overpriced. Just to be clear I don't mean very expensive, I mean WAY overpriced.
Most dishes were 15 to 24 dollars PER BITE. Having dined at many highly acclaimed restaurants in my life this was by far the most expensive while being far from the best in many ways. We had like 10 dishes - maybe 3 were outstanding and 3 were mediocre and that shouldn't happen at this price level. Service was sub par, we were not offered dessert and the allergy that was noted was handled in an amateur manner with a few unannounced errors. Recommendations - The hamachi w/ banana peppers, foie gras and chocolate, wagyu strip loin and UNI toast. Was a nice experience to see what all the hype was about but sadly will not be returning.
Best sushi spot on the East Coast. From the high fish grades to the exquisite preparation, your eyes, nose and mouth will be spoiled beyond a typical high-end sushi restaurant.
Amazing food. It will be hard to at another Sushi restaurant
Nice place but flavoring overpowered the base ingredients. Total failure for Japanese food claim. It's more like overpriced fusion.
