O Steaks & Seafood South Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately our experience was less than spectacular. We have eaten at O's a couple of times before, and the service is always just okay. We requested a corner table in the online reservation, but were given a different table. We made the request again once we were seated due to the noise level and a cold draft coming from the doorway which practically faces into the restaurant. Our server informed us that a large party was being seated in that corner that looked to be available. We quickly realized that the party she referred to ended up being seated right next to us instead and the corner remained empty the whole time we were dining. That, along with the fact that we never received bread prior to our meal, even though the tables around us received it, sealed the deal for us. Very disappointing. Although though we probably will not dine here again, we will continue to patronize the bar at this restaurant, as it is one of our favorites.
The one in Laconia is much better. Food was served to the wrong person which was fine but they cut up the steak and took a bite and instead of giving the correct person a whole new steak they just took what was already cut up and put the oscar on it and served it to the correct person. Rather disgusting if you ask me. They weren't even that busy to have the bill split in three checks took well over 30-40 minutes. The door in the front kept slamming too...might want to get that fixed. I will stick to going to the one in Laconia...better service.
The waitress was pleasant and helpful. The food was to die for. I wasn't sure I was going to like my selection (Haddock, shrimp risotto, and jambalaya) but the combination made my taste buds come to life. It was exceptional and the fish was cooked to perfection. If you are a brussel sprouts lover, or even if you are not, I suggest this side. It was the best I ever had.
I will limit my comments to the reservation times which were available. I preferred a reservation at 6 pm since we had tickets for an 8 pm show. The latest reservation was 5:30 so I booked it. We arrived at 5:25 and were promptly seated. Around 6:15 I noticed that there were 10 tables open. Why were there no reservations open at 6:00 pm when clearly O's was not full of diners? I would have arrived at 6 pm if I had known.
Our server was less than pleased to serve my daughter and I. Came back to check in after we were nearly done eating.
Tenderloin tips over cooked. Ordered medium rare, came well done... would have sent them back, but server didn't check in...
Over cooked asparagus
Meatloaf- sauce... didn't exist
Stained table cloth
Need I continue?
We went to O before a show in town. We were seated right away (had a reservation). Server was polite and conscience of the show and time. Articulate about specials.
Food was very well priced. You can't get a prime beef strip steak anywhere for under 30 bucks. The meat was one of the best. Comparable to a 60 dollar steak in NYC. Seasoned perfectly.
We will be back!
Perfect for a business lunch or after work get together. Not pricey for lunch and a good selection of salads, sandwiches and entrees. It wasn't very busy on the day I went and it was comfortable for conversation. Probably the best business lunch location in Concord.
We are frequent customers. Food is great and service has been good the last several visits. This is one of the most expensive restaurants in the area. It has been a favorite of ours since it opened and CR Sparks closed. Now there is a new CR in Hampton, but this is close to home for us.
Service was not good. Our wait staff was training someone and they would set for 15 minutes on end talking about everything but the resturant. Our food was not cooked well. Asked for medium and got rare. The menu has gone down hill, and not much varity. This used to be our favorite spot. The place was empty.
First time there, but we will certainly return! Made a reservation prior to an evening of theater, but really didn't need it. Tuesday night was a very light crowd. We did opt to eat outside, as the bar scene was VERY loud ..... turned out to be a smart decision. Patio/sidewalk dining was excellent. Service was prompt, and food was absolutely delicious ... a great variety of appetizers as well as entrees. Lobster corn chowder, orange chicken and short ribs with a side of mac 'n cheese, topped off with a warm chocolate cake. Excellent dining experience !!!!
I had had dinner at O's Steak and Seafood Restaurant before: an excellent experience all the way around. This time I and a friend met up with my niece for lunch at 1:15 on a Monday . After getting our drinks, we had to wait for our lunch order close to half-an-hour! Not only that, but when we walked in, a rug near a restaurant computer clearly needed vacuuming. The food was okay, the drinks fine, and thankfully we had a good conversation, but the restaurant experience itself--through no fault of our waitress, by the way (she was apologetic for the delay in our order)--was poor, to say the least.
Growing up in and around NYC my wife and I are both very spoiled when it comes to quality food and a good atmosphere. So when we go out we expect a lot. We have lived in NH for 7 years and can say the quality and presentation of the food was among the best in the state and top notch even when compared to steakhouses in NYC. We have tried many places in NH and this rates far above every place in terms of quality of the food.
However, it was not romantic, the ambiance wasn't really there, there were no real views or scenery to take in, and the signage outfront was VERY poor. I have been to the theatre next door 2 times in the past month and driven past the location many times, then parked next door and still had a problem finding the entry.
Overall, the server was good, the menu was creative, and the presentation was very appropriate. From the seafood appetizer platter, to the Waldorf Salad which they split for us at no additional cost, to the filet with colossal shrimp which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and excellently seasoned, and the peanut butter cheesecake with a fried Oreo on top I was very pleased!
The price is what you would expect for a higher end steakhouse.
We will be back, I'll just know what to expect as far as dress (casual) and atmosphere.
We were looking forward to trying O steak and seafood in Concord. The one toward the lakes region was better. Server was fine but not that attentive. Gave a bill never asked if we wanted desert. Lamb tasted like it had a sauce more for a stew. Parmesan crusted salmon was could perfectly but overall the flavor of the dish was more on the bland side than I expected. For the price I have had far better meals and experiences. I probably should have gone with a steak.
A friend of our recommended us to go to O Steak and Seafood in Concord. We decided to splurge to celebrate our daughters acceptance into college. Needless to say meal was underwhelming and very overpriced. My lobster corn chowder had 1 piece of lobster in it. Then my daughter had the lobster mac n cheese, lobster was tough and chewy. Lastly, my husband ordered the Cowboy bone in rib eye medium. The outer few pieces were fine, then towards the middle it was rare! He was hungry and ate more then he wanted to of it because the Waitress had disappeared. We brought it to her attention when she finally came back. The manager did come over and appologize, wanted to give us a dessert (we are not dessert eaters). She then took $20 off the meal. Not enough in my opinion! We don't mind paying if the quality represents the price. In this case it did not! We left very disappointed and will not be going back.
I've been here a few times now. Appetizers are great. Was somewhat disappointed with main course this time around. Steak tips were overdone, asked for medium, another meal with corn pudding was way over salted. Veal Chop was also overcooked and presentation wasn't very well done. Will return but hoping for better results.
We love O's. Great food. Great cocktails. Great time. Good for quiet romantic conversations in the dining room and slightly more boisterous ones in the bar area. Definitely a must try for someone who loves steak and seafood or a good old fashioned or manhattan.
Went to O' for the first time. I was bringing in my management team for a business lunch, and to thank them for their hard work! The idea was to be a "special occasion." We were seated in the bar and it was very loud. Our server went through the motions, but was not very friendly.
We all ordered the filet thinking it would be extraordinary in a steakhouse with O's reputation. They were all cooked differently, and none of them were cooked the way we ordered them. We asked which was which, the kid (not our server) that brought out the meals said "he said they were all the same." They were all over cooked. What a bummer. Filet's served with no sauce and seasoned marginally. Steamed green beans cooked right, served hot, but dry. No seasoning. Mashed potatoes were cold.
We left feeling like the potatoes. Cold.
Wont be back to O'.
