NYY Steak Midtown- New York Yankees Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We were there celebrating a birthday. I have two boys, ages 8 and 12, who thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed both the food and the experience. Our waitress was phenomenal. The food was great. The atmosphere was lively, yet mostly quiet and very relaxed. I’ve been to several landmark NYC steakhouses and NYY Steakhouse provides food, drink, and ambience on par with all of them.
Excellent service! My waitress had a smile at all times and was very knowledgeable on the menu. The boss even stopped by our table to thank us for choosing to celebrate our anniversary with them, I loved the personalized service. Memorabilia from the Yankees decorated the restaurant in such a classy way and my boyfriend absolutely loved the atmosphere. Everyone was excited and responsive to the live game! The short rib dish was absolutely DELICIOUS! Highly recommend!!
Place was awesome - extra special on service and love the all the Yankee artifacts. Definitely worth stopping when in NYC. Not an every day occasion as it is expensive - but not as much as many other steak houses, and the quality is equal or better than the others.
Definitely put this on your list for next time you are in NYC. We will be back.
as good as it gets, just as on prior occasions. everything I've had on the menu has been great. And if your lucky enough to get Paige as your waitress your way ahead of the game as soon as you sit down. My fiancé and I will always try and fit this place in on any trip to the city. Make sure you start off with the seafood tower as it will set the tone for the rest of the meal. very airy type room. the whole staff makes you feel right at home. can't wait to return!
We are from Kansas City, so we are not strangers to good steaks. That being said, it speaks volumes for this restaurant when my husband, an enthusiastic carnivore, declared this was the best steak he remembers ever eating....and his family raised beef. The prices are not for the faint-hearted but it is totally worth the money. The ambiance is both soothing and exhilarating simultaneously, not a small feat. Even if you're not a Yankees fan, just taking in all of the memorabilia is worth it. We had a remarkable waiter that just added to the experience. We KC Royals and KC Strip fans heartily recommend a meal here.
A 9:30 p.m. dinner straight from a funeral is not the usual dining experience you'll hear about, and the restaurant was chosen completely on the basis of location. It's essentially an upscale sports bar, with lots of screens visible from most if not all tables. Everyone at table had the steak, and they were easily the equal of anything you'd get at Morton's or Capitol Grille. The sides were slightly smaller than you'd get at the competition, but given the entree portions that's not an issue. Special mention of the crispy octopus appetizer - it's terrific. Not inexpensive: for a party of four (with a $140 bottle of wine) the tab ran a bit in excess of $500. If there was a concern, we didn't see enough of the (very sweet) waitress after the meal was on the table, as the crew seemed to be cleaning up a bit too obviously. If you're a big Yanks fan, probably a good place for a major celebration. Otherwise, we'd probably opt for something with more "local culla."
The establishment has a case of identity crisis. Is it a high end steak house or a sports bar? The menu and menu prices indicate it is trying to be a steakhouse yet the large bar, multiple TV's show its sports bar side. Aside from the identity crisis the yankees decor was nice and the baseball diamond bread plates were a nice touch. The Bacon App was to die for and the best thing we had all night. I had the bone in ribeye and my date had the Filet, both were remarkably undercooked in the middle per our order. The service was ok but when asked to put a to-go box together they never brought it back out to us. There was just no wow i want to come back here factor. Thankfully we were paying with a gift-card otherwise it would of been zero stars. Its a novelty place that was empty on a Friday night.
My nephew was in town - he's sixteen - obviously it was the "Yankee's" theme which he saw as we passed the restaurant one day. We looked it up online. I had not been before and had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was incredible. He was very kind and fun to my niece and nephew (16 & 14). The food was amazing. The setting works well. We sat on the portion which is raised up some and I loved this part of the restaurant. It was a great choice before the show on a Friday evening. Super food coma though for having to sit through a show :) Fun.
The service from the Greeter/Hostess to the Waitress/Server was outstanding. The food was pretty good as well. As a NY Yankees fan, this was a nice venue.
The only issue I had was the Manager person. He seemed staid, unfriendly. Never smiled or greeted patrons. Just stood around glaring at staff and patrons. I found it off-putting to say the least.
Overall I would go there again for the food and drinks.
The steaks and service was awesome however the seafood tower for the price was okay was not the best I felt the lobster and tuna was a little odd tasting sort of like it had be cold /frozen. However the service was not bad the app was a downfall for the price and the rest was good.
I ordered the signature ribeye, i ordered it medium rare, it came out purple. They didn't have lobster tails, or baked potatoes, and i asked the waiter for the cheese stuffed olives and im still waiting for them if you know what i am saying. The steak was delicious when it came out the second time. It was my first time there i wish my experience was better.
