Seated on time for reservation. Appetizers, main, desert, bread, and drinks were all brought out timely. The food was scrumptious and filling. The ambiance, staff, clientele, and decor is all spot on. You are not in a rush when dining at this establishment. Show up, enjoy, and take your time. Highly recommend.
We had a six top with different dishes for each person. The food is mediocre at best. Service could definitely have been better. Probably will not go back.
Jack was sweet and efficient but needs a little more training in reference to bringing pepper grinder for each course or ask, inform add on prices to entrees, refill water, check back for refills on wine etc. These are easy fixes. He timed our entree too early as we were still on out salads. But overall nice young man. Food fresh and flavorful. We go here for our celebrations. Fried oysters exceptional.
An overall great experience. Great food and bar service!
The only negative I can mention is the hostess staff. Since we were early for our dinner reservation so we had a drink at the bar. At the appointed time, I walked over to the hostess to let her know that we were there. She was busy, busy discussing something with another hostess or server and they both just walked off-not even an acknowledgment of my presence! There was no other customer around, so it was not a matter of being engaged with another customer. So, I went back to the bar to finish my drink. When we were finished, we approached the hostess station again. Busy, busy again (again we were the only customers). Finally, I said “we are here for our reservation”. She finally acknowledged us and then began to study the table assignments and study and study! Finally, we were seated! We then had an excellent experience with both the food and service. I did notice as I was facing the door a number of people enter and just stand in the doorway waiting for a staff member to approach them. The restaurant was not crowded at the time, so the hostess should have greeted them. It’s a shame to have such an important part of the operation influence the total experience so negatively.
The food was excellent. I had the panned Veal and it was tender and delicious.
Friendly staff, good food, good lighting , overall a lovely experience
It was very good, but not as good as usual, primarily due to staffing problems. It took an excessive amount of time to get served.
Beautiful restaurant w a comfy feel. Wonderful food, had a great table by the window…. Great to people watch! Very friendly waiter who recognized us from before. Good cocktails too!
The staff seemed very undertrained. Got our drinks wrong first of all, had to continually ask for more water, calamari extremely salty. Then screwed up our to go food. Our waiter was Jack. He could use a few more lessons
A/C vent blowing on my head. The waiter had too many tables to serve. He did a reasonable job, though.
Oyster and Fontina appetizer was delicious.
Food was excellent, and serving sizes generous. On a Saturday night, the noise level was high, bordering on unpleasant - a few larger parties can generate a lot of noise, as can a football game showing in the bar. Decibel level reached 80, which is way too intense for an intimate, 2-person anniversary dinner. Service was good, but slow - wait staff seemed understaffed. A second glass of wine ordered when the entree was served did not arrive until the entree was finished - and I had to decline it, as it was time to leave (and drive). Note that this was our first time there, so maybe these things are known to the "regulars."
We had a 6:45 reservation and arrived 5 min early. Although there were numerous tables in the main room as well as the raised part and the Red Room, we were seated in the far back room. There was a table of about 10 ladies in the room that seemed to be having a good time and we were the only people seated in there right below the air conditioner. After about 10 min someone came and bought butter and took our drink order. When we had not gotten bread or drinks after 30 min there, I asked if we could be moved bc I felt we were forgotten in that corner. We were seated in the Red Room(?) We placed our order (4 of us) and I ordered my Filet Med Rare. It took about 30 min to get our food and the moment I looked I could see mine was overcooked. I cut into my meat and there was very little pink so I told the waiter it was over cooked and I had requested Med Rare. He just took it from me and left. I insisted that the rest please eat so after about 20 min he returned with my SAME piece of meat (cut where I had cut it) and this time it was well done!! I again told him I had asked for Med Rare so again he just took it and came back about 5 min later and said that it would be about 20 min to redo it. By this time everyone had finished their meal so I told him he could cancel it and I ordered a glass of wine. (Throughout all of this I never once was rude and thanked him each time he took my plate away). The young man never did apologize or ask if he could get me something else. I did not get a meal but ordered Cream Brulee' as did 2 others. The Cream Brulee was not a quarter of a inch deep and not even 1/2 full. This was the first time we brought these people there and was embarrassed by the impression they had of it. We have been there many many times and have always enjoyed our meal and have never had to return food. Very disappointing and embarrassing.
We picked Nuvolari's Over Galliger's 527 and went home without even eating.
We love this place but the noise level was incredibly loud due to a party group of people in the bar area, the restaurant owner should have been aware of the aggravation to the other paying customers. For the second time in a couple of months a simple dry sky martini tasted like water. My brother recently went there also and said the same thing about the martinis. I’m not saying this is the case but to the both of us we felt as though it was a watered down version of alcohol. I really hope with the high mark up on alcohol they are not adding water to the bottles but that’s what it taste like and trust me we’d know. The meal itself was very average of the price.
Excellent food! Amazing ravioli stuffed with pork 👍🏻👍🏻
We visited for my boyfriend's birthday. The meatballs were delicious as well as the bread. Upon ordering we found out that many items on the menu were not available, which was disappointing. My shrimp and crap pasta (minus the scallops as they were out) was delicious, but my boyfriend's veal marsala was not good. He couldn't finish it and we ended up not paying for it. Overall it was a good meal but we probably won't be visiting here again.
Food and service was wonderful! They have a large select of fresh seafood and pasta. And a great wine selection as well!
I have been enjoying Nuvolari’s since 1983. The food is always consistent and delicious. I put an evening together for several of us who have been friends since the mid 60’s. There was a little mishap involving one of my friends. ( no fault of Nuvo’s) John, David and another customer were all attentive to my friend. Thanks to all.
Great, personable server, Alyson. Great martinis. Really good food. Don’t bother with the calamari. The grilled fish with rice, crabmeat and green beans was super. The scallops weren’t available for the scallops, shrimp and crabmeat fettuccine in sherry cream sauce. It was okay. The pricing was very reasonable. It was a little loud and no music playing. We look forward to returning.
The food was great, 2nd time back in 1 week.
Server Alison was outstanding.
I would love to go again to try more items on. The menu
The setting was nice and intimate. The food was good, but we felt like the options weren't accommodating to our taste. Some dishes contained ingredients that we don't like. You can omit, but a replacement wasn't offered. Example: Potato of the day...u forgot the name but it was similar to a scallop cake? We are simple and a plain baked potato would have sufficed. The potato wasn't offered on the sides menu neither. The steak was deliciously cooked and prepared with a sauce. The veggie wasn't omitted and we don't eat mushrooms so there's that! Great service by Mason by the way!
Nuvolari’s is an old favorite. Sometimes it’s a hit; sometimes it’s a miss. But that’s what happens at a 30+ year old restaurant. Last night was a hit. Excellent food, service, drinks, ambiance. One more plus- so many good restaurants are understandably pricey these days. Nuvolari’s gives you all they do for a reasonable price.
The food was excellent and the cocktails were very good. Our staff person was John and he was great. The entire staff was very attentive.
Food was fabulous and our server was amazing🖤
The service was really good and the food was great. Noise level is a bit higher than I like but not as bad as some other fine dining spots.
Quiet restaurant, delicious food, great ambience
Great food and great service, as always
It was fire.
I have no idea why this place is rated so high on TripAdvisor. The ambiance was like a bar (loud with people shouting to be heard). We both had a veal dish. Both had alfredo sauce pasta under the veal. The sauce was so overpowering it was ridiculous. The chefs here should read about the strategy that sometimes less is more. Our poor waitress was the only one on the floor for a while with at least 10 tables to serve. Pay a decent wage and get some more wait staff. The meal was OK but not great, certainly not in the same category as other Italian restaurants to choose from in on the Northshore. There are at least 5 other Italian restaurants within 5 miles that are better. Not a good value for the cost. $31 for a veal dish is in the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse realm without the RC quality. We won't be back.
Very nice place to go for a n excellent experienced
It had been a long time since we had been there. We were not disappointed. It was wonderful.
We enjoyed dining at Nuvalare’s and will return. We were glad to have made reservations being they are busy.
Altogether a most delightful experience. Nuvolari's never disappoints.
Food was excellent, but we had a terrible server. We had to ask for refills, and I had to go to the receptionist to ask her to get our server to bring our check.
54th wedding anniversary. Expected a great food experience and that’s exactly what We got. Service was outstanding. Cocktails were abundant and delicious. The bang for your buck was spot on . We highly recommend that everyone tries this restaurant!!!
Great place to go to celebrate special occasions. Great food and service.
We will be back!
The service was a little off with there timing of bringing out the food. Did not seem like they had enough waitstaff. The food was delicious as always.
Food was excellent, the young waiter Jack was great. If there was any negative the martinis were weak almost watered down it seemed. The normal bartender that does our drinks is Wally but he was not there last night. Anyway this one partial negative in no way outweighs a very nice evening at the restaurant.
Excellent food and service in a relaxed atmosphere!
