Poor service, rude and never really came over to my table. Took 10 min to even get water. I’ve been to Numero 28 East Village, which was a much different and awesome atmosphere so I was bummed it didn’t live up to the same expectations.
Truest Italian pizza in NYC.
Love this place and the Nonna owner who makes the best chocolate cake!!
Great staff, service, pizza and pasta! Perfect location in the west village.
We ate outdoors. Pretty safe and a heat lamp provided decent warmth on a chilly night. My friend ordered a entrée Lasagna for $18 and it was tiny. Maybe appetizer or small plate size. That was disappointing. However, she did say it was delicious. Salas was very good and good enough for 3 to share. The rest of us ordered personal size pizza which was very good.
I was disappointed to learn while there that it was a cash only. On Open Table, this was not mentioned as far as I can tell and I don't see that on the website either. That's not appropriate.
Food and service were incredible!
Great food, lovely service, but the music was TOO LOUD.
Been coming for years, I wouldn’t come back
Nicola took such great care of us- such a perfect night. My favorite place in NYC! Food, service, wine, etc!
This restaurant is not setup for outdoor dining. You cannot eat at the restaurant, you can only do takeout. I don't know why they're on OpenTable if they are not prepared to serve customers at the restaurant.
Numero 28 Pizzeria is one of the best casual restaurants in the West Village. I had the mista salad, the vegan mozzarella pizza - and then the tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious. The prices were very reasonable and the service was great. The place is also nice and cozy - with great seating choices both indoors and outdoors.
I was very disappointed with No 28, a restaurant I have frequently dined at and enjoyed. I booked a table for 4, for my son and his three friends. Because they are teenagers (very polite and well behaved) I wanted to be sure they would have no trouble getting seated and I walked to the restaurant an hour before the booking to explain this and ask that they be seated outside (for COVID reasons). I was assured they would be. When they turned up they were told to wait, and ended up being made to wait 25 minutes, during which time two other groups of diners who arrived after them were seated outdoors. The waitress/hostess was extremely rude to them and told them that they had not arrived at 8 (when in fact they had been there even a few minutes early) and she repeatedly ignored them as did the other waiters even though their name and booking was written in a notepad, and in the computer, fully visible to my son. Very poor customer service, very rude and unpleasant. My son and his friends, who were out for a treat that evening, eventually left after being ignored and went elsewhere.
Food is just so good every time - wine selection is also great. Waitstaff is very accommodating and friendly.
Excellent personal attention! Superb food and street scene just makes this a return to great New York city scenes!! Wine suggestions were impeccable!
This is the best Italian restaurant in NY. It is a hidden gem. It is like eating in Italy.
We had a table for two outside, was small and wobbly. I was afraid no room for our 18 inch pizza we ordered. I think if we’re were 3 persons we would get the table for 4 and the table and space would have been better experience. But the pizza was juicy and delicious. We ordered 18 inch, half capricoisa and half Reginale.. great combination..
Our party couldn’t be seated unless all members were present. Although we had majority. Table wasn’t set 30 min past the original reservation time and poor miscommunication between waiting staff members. Good ambiance and good food made up for the poor service.
Numero 28 is always excellent. One of our favorite pizza stops in NYC, either at the Carmine St or Second Ave location. The pizza is closest to Italy that I have had in the US. A must try that never disappoints.
The pizza was SOOOOOOO Good! Can't get more Italian than this-loved it! Service was excellent! I'll be back!
It was. Great place but too hot in the room where the oven is. The waitress was very nice and opened the door to let some air in and we had a great time.
Service was very slow. Had to flag down the waitress multiple times.
Best pizza I’ve ever had!! Put this at the top of your list when in NYC!!
The pizza was great & the salmon was also!
Celebrated my birthday with 8 of my friends - had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine. Highly recommend!
Exceptional pizza, salads and pasta.
Lovely ambiance in this tiny pizzeria. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the wine by the glass selection was good (5 or six options for red), and the staff were friendly. Warning - this is cash only so go prepared but for those that forget there is an ATM next to the restroom.
The best pizza bar none, you can feel the authenticity as soon as you walk in
Fastantico!! Enjoyed every minute of the 2 plus hours that I stayed there.
Food was really good but didn’t know it was cash only... not ideal
By far The Best Pizza closest to Italy! Been going for years and make the trip from NJ without hesitation. All ingredients imported from Italy! Always bringing friends and everyone agrees! Do not hesitate to go! You will not be disappointed ever.
The waiter was very nice. Our order was placed but we never received our appetizers. The pizza came out within 5 minutes. There was a large party that sat down during our dinner that was so extremely loud that we asked to sit outside. When leaving I had to use the rest room and when walking out another waiter pushed his hand on me and said ‘get out of the way’ causing me to trip and almost fall on the table with the big party. He never even said excuse me or sorry or even check whether I was ok. I was seriously disappointed in the whole experience.
Spaghetti 28 super
A little mix up on the seating of our reservation; 45 minute wait. However, a classy move by the hostess/server to offer us a complimentary glass of wine while we waited for our table. She truly felt bad but handled the situation with textbook customer service. With a hug and goodbye at the end of the evening, she’ll have two loyal customers back for another visit.
Numero 28 Pizzera is an excellent casual lunch spot. They have a good variety of individual pizzas at reasonable prices. My party consisted of friends who hadn't seen each other in some time, so we spent a lot of time talking both before and after our meal. The staff was very tolerant, not rushing us to order and letting us stay for a while after we had finished eating.
CASH ONLY with an ATM in the back. Went for a Sunday lunch with a friend and his two middle school kids. Good but standard selection of pizza, pastas and salad. Small inside and out BUT the inside has large open doors and the outside is mainly shaded. Staff is actually Italian so thats always a good sign in my opinion.
Overall it's fine - Nothing to write home about but no one will leave unsatisfied. It's an easy option for all to eat and affordable in terms of NYC.
Always a favorite. Brought my niece from Florida!! She loved it.
This is the BEST pizza in NY...and better than the other Numero 28 in the East Village. They have a bigger menu too (pere gorgonzola and walnuts!!!!!)
Perfection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why go to Italy? (Well...other than loving italy)
The pizza is excellent and service is great!
Very nice setting right in the west village, perfect place to get some italian pizza. A little weird that it was cash only, not used to that for sit down restaurants. The pizza was unbelievable, just got a little soggy towards the end but if you eat it quickly it's perfect.
They should do a better job at pointing out that it is a cash only restaurant. Also, I had to wait about 25 minutes to get my pie. Food was good when it did finally arrive but my fiancé had finished her meal before mine even came out.
