Menu was outdated n many things not available. As an “Oyster Bar” they only had raw oysters, fried oysters or oyster shooters. Not the impression you would get from the name.

1st time back in a couple of years. Food was every bit as good as I remembered. Service was good considering how packed the place was and they were hustling to get things out. It was VERY noisy made it hard to talk.

Myhusband and I stopped in to the Ouster Bar for a dinner before attending the Air Supply Concert. It hit the spot with lots of variety of seafood on the menu and fantastic service from our server Brandon. He was very attentive to our needs and made sure we had a relaxing , comfortable and delicious dinner. If we have an occasion to dine here again we will ask for Brandon !

Extremely friendly service. If not mistaken, a slight change in the menu. The place was full on a Saturday night. Have been patronizing this resturant for years, just keeps getting better.

Made reservations effortlessly via opentable. We were eating dinner before a concert. Restaurant was very busy, long line, but w reservation we were seated immediately. Food was very good. Service was great with a smile. We enjoyed ourselves.

We got in at our reservation time. Waited at our table for 15 minutes before anyone came over. After half an hour, and no food or drinks, we got up to leave. We spoke with the manager and she said it was busy. No apologies. Funny thing...it wasn't even that busy. Maybe half the tables were full.

Food was very tasty, with lots of options. Wait staff was attentive. Decor was nautical, and very appropriate. Will go again.

Attentive service but the kitchen was behind on orders and the dining room short staffed. Nevertheless the staff that was there worked very hard and couldn’t have been more friendly.

Our food was great except the lobster bisque was like a giant blob of cooked cornmeal with pieces of lobster in it. Our service was another story the employees just don't care which is sad this restaurant has been around for a very long time but the regular servers have been replaced with new people who don't seem to care about any customer service at all. Our waitress was terrible it started with her stopping by the table to let us know she wouldn't be with us for 5-10 minutes because she was busy with another table, there was no offer to get us drink while we were waiting which might have worked in her favor better. She did finally come to take our food order but no mention about drinks so we ordered with our food. We had a shrimp cocktail for the appetizer, she came to the table and informed us she ordered a combination cocktail and was that okay with us? Yes it was okay and it was delicious but still no drinks. When our food came it everything was really good except the lobster bisque. Oh and yet still no drinks we had to ask for them. We did eventually get our drinks and finished our dinner. The waitress cleared a few plates and then disappeared again. I did eventually see her return to the restaurant with her coat on (must have been break time). When she came back to the table we told her about the bisque which was still full, she then stated " Yeah not everyone likes it, do you want anything else instead? We were all done with our food at this point so we said no. She then brought us our check with the bisque still on it, and the extra charge for the combination cocktail she messed up the order on. There were two of us splitting the bill and if it were up to me I would have left her 5% for a tip but she did get 18% . Also when we were leaving I let the cashier know we were really unhappy with the service but the lady couldn't have cared less. As a local I'm hesitant to return.

Met friends who had never been there before and we were all pleasantly surprised by the overall high quality of the restaurant. I really liked the wine and the shrimp pan roast was superb, usually don’t have desert but our food server stated that the cheesecake was worth having, I said no initially as the strawberry topping didn’t sound appealing to me, but she asked what I preferred and I said some raspberries would go well and she disappeared only to come back with cheesecake coverered in raspberries. It was great.
I will return soon to enjoy another complete meal with all the side benefits.

the avocado shrimp sandwich was gross. Gross white bread open style with huge shrimp and chopped up avocado. Disappointed. the stew was meh. won’t be back can get better food anywhere

Everything was perfect. Food was excellent and worth every penny. No pressure from the staff , they were also a pleasure. Definitely going back next time in town.

It was really hot inside. We told the waitress and she said that she had other people complaining about it as well. She said that she told the manager and the manager was going to work on it

Lobster bisque had a strong alcohol taste. The oysters were not properly cleaned, shell inside. Crab had a rubber taste.

As usual, our dinner was wonderful. Oysters were fresh and plump and The Lazy Man's Cioppino was excellent. Our server was Berta and she is the best!

The food was overcooked. We had a variety of shellfish dishes, and all were overcooked and lacked flavor. The oysters were terrible. I won't be going back.

We went on Christmas. They don’t handle busy nights as well as they used to but it was still a really nice evening. Bertha the waitress is the best!

This place has been a favorite for years. For awhile after the Ascuaga’s left, the quality suffered. In the past 6-12 months, the menu has been updated, but the old favorites are still there, the service level is back up, & you can now make a reservation. In addition, they have a Happy Happy hour menu in the bar that’s amazing. We are very happy to recommend this restaurant.

Really miss the Ascuaga’s family recipes and class. We went to the Nugget for a Christmas lunch and unfortunately the Oyster Bar was cold in temperature, the coffee not hot or fresh and my fish and chips were on the cold side. The waitress however was very good, but that said the food quality took away from it.

It is possible that we just didn’t like what we ordered this time. I usually get the pan roast and my husband gets the seafood louie. Those are very good. This time we got a deep fried seafood platter and a shrimp/avocado sandwich. Not as good. The big issue was that it was December and their air conditioning was on full blast and it was freezing in the restaurant. We were relocated to another table but it was just as bad. They didn’t offer to turn the a/c off so we ate in our coats.

I had the tuna sandwich and french fries. The tuna was tasteless no matter how much salt pepper Etc I added. The fries were nothing special either, and they came five minutes after my meal. The bread they have switch to is not sourdough and it was cold on a happy note the butter was excellent. My husband had the gumbo. It had nice ingredients such as the chicken and shrimp. However there was no spice or flavor to it at all. He added much Tabasco what she does not even care for and lots of salt and pepper.

When we were seated, we were told that the boilers were out, so they could only accommodate orders for Louies, deep-fried items, and a couple of soups. However, the attitude of the staff was so positive; they said they could do some cooking at the nearby Noodle Hut and sushi bar; In fact, we could move down to that restaurant if we chose. We did decide to make the move, and the food was just terrific. Service was outstanding and, when it took a while for our cooked order to come, the staff was very apologetic. They really did their best to make our dining experience a good one and we were grateful. Well worth the minor irritations.

The worst ever! We waited over 20mins for soup. And then an addition 15mins for our dinner. My order was wrong. Oysters came 15mins after that. They had absolutely no flavor. Good oysters don’t need much. These had less flavor than the bread. Waited over 20mins for the check. That was an hour+ of my life and a bunch of calories wasted. I would have been better off eating out of a vending machine.

Delicious food! On show nights you need to get here early and order early, like 5:30. The kitchen can get really backed up otherwise a great time.

I have been to this restaurant several times over the years and it had been very good food until the last couple of years. When I went with friends over a year ago, the quality of the food had declined - dry, tasteless bread and the Crab Louie was sub par. This visit with two friends before going to see a concert turned out great. Very good bread and the Crab Louie also was very good. Service was excellent even though it was a Saturday night.
