The place was great fantastic food outstanding I really appreciate it the staff and everything else in place I would definitely recommend to all my friends
Bertha was an excellent server.food was superb..,desserts a dream come true
Food taste very frozen and not very thawed. The difference between this Oyster Bar vs the one at the Atlantis is so very far different. The one at the Atlantis was by far better than the one at Nugget Casino.
If trapped in the Nugget with no way to escape, The Oyster Bar is fair option for dining. If Jack Sparrow was our waiter, I would not be surprised. It's a throw-back restaurant with lots of brown vinyl booths and ropes...dined there on a Saturday night...thanks to reservation, no waiting. Food is not very exciting...frozen, dry crab(lots of it) for the Louie, frozen seafood in tasty Cioppino sauce, raviolis lobster stuffing was cold, and the Fish & Chips were the only entry that looked inviting but oh so simple. I did not expect a Chart House seafood experience, but these were some rough seas, matey. Nugget is a bit rough around the edges in all aspects of service...investment group cutting corners all over the hotel to make ends meet. Employees work hard, but only so much lipstick you can put on that pig. Left a big tip...because the staff tried to save me from walking the plank. Anchor Steam on tap helped a lot.
We eat here at least once a week and whenever we have friends come to visit, we always bring them to the Oyster Bar for lunch or dinner and we always have breakfast or an early lunch at Rosies.
Very well managed food and beverage dept.
The wedge salad was great, the pan roast was too spicy and just not the same as it used to be. Won’t be back
They seafood has always been good there. And service.
Just would like to see happy hour come
Awesome service. Our waitress gave us the best service. The food was so fresh and so good. I will be back and eat here. Its like a diamond in the ruff. 100 percent good food and environment.
At the register they add 18% tip automatically. Manager said it mandatory regardless of service.
Sever was amazing. He was helpful and checked in and was super nice with my kids
If you love seafood this is the place. Everyone is very helpful
Our server, Michael, was excellent. He made good recommendations and was attentive without being annoying. 5 stars for him. The food was very good - we had the seafood tower which is a good value overall for what you get. We also had the lobster ravioli stuffed with goat cheese- amazing! Decent wine selection, but no cocktail menu despite having a full bar inside of the restaurant. The ambience was a little underwhelming considering the reservation-only seating and expensive menu, but it wasn't bad.
We hadn’t visited the Oyster Bar in quite some time and were happily surprised to find that the food quality was still excellent. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I had such a wonderful meal and Awesome staff we were celebrating our Birthday we both have one this month so thank you for making it Great
Service was good, food however was just not up to par for us. Mushroom ravioli and gumbo were a big miss.
Amazing delicious oyster!! Food is great!! I love this place, it's my favorite!!
Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent experience overall.
The restaurant was virtually empty, and the wait staff was very attentive. The food & beverage - wine temperature, oysters on the half shell, and crab pan roasts ... were perfect. Incredible flavor, and delicious. Well worth the $100 tab.
On the other hand, the walk thru the casino to the Oyster Bar was a miserable experience. The casino floor was smoky and smelled worse than cheap truck stop perfume. That is the only downer about our experience. It would be really nice if management could figure out to improve the sites and smells throughout the hotel lobby and casino floor.
THE OYSTER BAR AT THE NUGGET WAS OUTSTANDING GREAT SERVICE AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT HAD THE SEA FOOD TOWER WAS TO DIE FOR....
Very busy and not enough staff to handle patrons. Waiter would come to table and ask or deliver something and not take dirty dishes with them. Portion sizes have decreased and prices have increased.
Great food. The price was surprising reasonable. Ordered the small seafood platter appetizers. Served two very well.
Oyster bar never is not good---usually excellent. Food and service are always top shelf.
Fish & Chips, & shrimp poor boys always a great pick. There are many other selections that are terrific. as well. Anything you order, you will be pleased,.
We had reservations for 8pm.
But my guest was coming from out of town, so we got there at 850pm, expecting to be told we could not be seated do to them closing soon...
But the hostess said she would seat us..
We were shocked..
But what we found was we were literally being rushed to finish eating at 917pm 9 minutes after getting our food..
I will not be going back to the Nugget anytime soon....
The food is always delicious in the Oyster Bar. Wish Rosie's were as good as it once was in the past.
We had not been here for a long time. Sorry to say it was very disappointing. We ordered drinks, food came before drinks. I ordered a Louie salad for my entree it came out with my husbands Caesar, and before the drinks. Quality of the food was poor as well.
Fish and chips is my daughters favorite. One nice piece of fish longer than the plate. Good value!
It took 30 minutes for the server to come to our table. She took our order and said she would bring us some bread. After 10 to 15 minutes I got up and asked the bus boy if we could have some bread. He said they were out. When the food came, the quality wasn’t what we had experienced before.
Our server Tatiana was excellent - always checking back with us on our food and refilling my husband's coffee. The lobster ravioli was delicious and my husband always orders his favorite, the Lazy Man's Ciappino.
Good food good price. Servers are always attentive and nice. Servers go out of their way yo make our dining experience a great one. Always try to make it there whenever we go to Reno. ❤️
The Sparks Nugget is justly famous for the Oyster Bar and the pan roasts they serve up. Superb comfort food!
Anything that you might order will be excellent. The fish & chips are the best in the entire area.
Great service, great food! Been coming here for over 40 years!
Amazing food, can’t wait to go back
Good food great service
Food is great as always
Although I had reservations, I had to wait in line 15 minutes to get to the desk. Then it took the waitress another 15 minutes to even take our order. It was unorganized.
The food was great. I ate way too much.
The gumbo was delicious but everything else was medicore for the price. The bread was ice cold. Also order steamed king crabs and they were came out cold and the meat was dry and hard to get out of of the shell. The ambiance was dreadfully dreary. It was dark and the decor is extremely outdated. Definitely will not return. Restaurant matched the vibe of the casino. I was extremely disappointed.
Both my wife and I had the Linguini & Clams in white wine sauce.
1. The bread served is soft inside and the extremely thin crust crumbles when touched and it has no texture or flavor.
2. The clams were clean and cooked well. However, they were not hot to the touch when they arrived atop the pasta.
3. The linguini was served at 10 - 15 degrees below body temperature. There was virtually no sauce at the bottom of the plate. The linguini had no flavor of any wine other than a cork being passed over the dish.
4. I had to ask for pepper to try to add flavor to the dish.
5. I added a pat of butter from the bread plate to flavor the linguini dish and IT WOULD NOT MELT.
6. When the waitress showed up to check on our meal, AFTER IT WAS GONE, (we were both very hungry so we ate it anyway), I told her that the linguini was cold.
She said I should have told her before I ate it and she's have it redone. I told her that I DO NOT RETURN food into a kitchen at a restaurant. They should not put out cold food.
7. I watched her as she returned to the open kitchen area after receiving my complaint and she TOLD NO ONE!
We'll never darken their door.
Michael was our waiter during our dinner. He was fantastic. He anticipated our needs, was attentive, friendly and got our orders right.
