Food delicious. Not too loud
Lovely wintery atmosphere eating by the fireplace, seated in armchairs. Had soup and side dishes, which were all stellar!
A lovely evening, as usual. The waitress was particularly accommodating, replacing a cider for one of us when he didn’t care for it. She also made an extra effort to get me the recipe for the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which I had asked for on an earlier visit. The host also helped to get that for me.
Well-appointed and comfortable. Service was excellent and the Pre-Theater menu was an excellent value. The restaurant seemed very well run and was much better than most other restaurants found in hotels (Sheraton Commander). A strong competitor in the Harvard Square area.
Very small portions. The side of steak I ordered for my salad was a joke at $14. Will not return
Table worked well . It was nice to have lunch and brunch option ,
We had a lovely time. The food was very good as was the service. A really nice atmosphere to meet friend.s.
The dining room has a warm and pleasant ambience. The food is not advertised as a “small plates” arrangement, but that appeared to be the concept. We were very appreciative of the separate vegan menu, and our meals were excellent — but the vegan choices were still limited.
Had event in bar area the created explosion of noise and also affected service. Made it hard to talk and hard to pay bill
Food very good and interesting menu
One of my favorite restaurants. The duck breast was delicious, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding cake was super OTW (out of this world).
Casual but elegant restaurant with fireplace, great wine list, and lots of menu options. Something to please everyone in your party.
The cocktails were seasonal and fabulous. Overall the cocktail menu is very unique.
We enjoyed a baked apple flatbread that was also great. For an entree we enjoyed the scallops, they were blackened and juicy and perfectly cooked over a bed of shaved Brussels sprouts.
Our server, Gabrielle was attentive.
Sat in newly remodeled smaller dining room. Noise from conversations in dining room was deafening. Why can’t dining rooms use some noise reduction materials in design? Hard to hear and talk among people in our own table for 3. Made evening uncomfortable and definitely not relaxing.
The Food and service were excellent. The time to wait for our meals to arrive was perfect. The flavor of each dish was exquisite.
Food is hyped but subpar at best.
The new decor is very handsome. In the evening, though, the lighting is a bit dim. The food was excellent, and the server was helpful, and very pleasant. Wish we had had room for dessert!
Loved our server. We were celebrating our anniversary and his timing was perfect. Plus the food was delicious (except the corn bread - just ok).
So great. I had the salmon flatbread with cucumber salsa and radishes, and my husband had the roast salmon dinner. The newly decorated space is beautiful, the service was perfect. We've always loved coming to Nubar, and this did not disappoint. Can't wait to come back.
First time in the remodeled space; I was happy to see many old staff back and the revamped menu continues to offer lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Looking forward to going again and trying more options!
Everything was good but the food. The duck in particular was bland.
Father’s day brunch.
Some food in the buffet was cold, basic hotel brunch buffet.
The food, ambience, and service were wonderful. One thing I would suggest you consider is to update the wait staff into today's world of younger, more hip staff. The server we had was efficient and affable, but also overweight and not reflective of the world we have today. He was not unpleasant, just not what a place like this restaurant should have I believe.
Hi Ken! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and that the servers age and weight did not affect your overall service and experience. Most of our staff have been loyal employees of the restaurant/hotel for years. We believe it's important to keep our staff diverse, which includes people from all different walks of life and of all different ages. Perhaps another restaurant in Harvard Square will have younger staff more suited to your liking. Thank you again for dining with us!
AS usual, the food and service were wonderful, but there was a very large private party taking place at the same time as our reservation. The waiters were a little distracted and it was VERY noisy. That's anomaly for Nubar, though, and I'm certain the next time will be quieter!
Hi! Thank you for your feedback. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed both the food and service at Nubar. We do apologize that the noise level was a bit distracting to your overall dining experience but hope to see you again soon!!
The food is excellent, the atmosphere was quiet, the place was about 1/2 full. Our waiter was distracted and it was difficult to get his attention.
Perfect place to eat when attending one of many local and very close musical events
Service was mixed. Waitress quite preoccupied. No sign of bread for the table until we asked 15 minutes in. Food was good.
Yes! Thank you again for a nice meal. We enjoyed it very much, and the service was very good.
Bright, welcoming ambience. The Nubar burger is award winning as are the flatbread, especially the one with salmon. The wait staff is marvelous!
The food and service was excellent! Will go back again soon!
Overpriced for Easter Brunch!
They always do great holiday buffets. The Easter desserts were especially nice. Our waiter, William, was very friendly and attentive. I always look forward to going to Nubar.
We love the ambience, menu, ( especially the flatbread) and the wait staff are charming.
We first visited Nubar on a cold and rainy evening before a concert at the church next door, not expecting more than a typical boring hotel meal. But we were very pleasantly surprised by the warm and friendly atmosphere, the excellent food, and the great selection of wine and beer. Since then, it has become a family favorite!
I wanted to LOVE Nubar, but am only in heavy like with it. With so many new restaurants, this one is 'almost there'. If you are a VEGAN, you can ask for a menu - which is a fantastic option. The service was good, but a bit too quick for us in that we wanted a leisurely night.
The restaurant was not busy at all on Sunday for dinner - but if it were, I would imagine it would be very noisy and hard to have a conversation.
Great location, excellent food. A bit dark and down under feel to it, but service was top-notch.
As always, the the service was unobtrusive yet complete. The food again, had us closing our eyes and just contemplating the taste sensations.
Good for a quick pre-concert dinner with a friend!
We like how they change the same dinners every time we eat there.
This restaurant is a reliable neighborhood standby for me and my wife - normally excellent food served in a comfortable setting, with great service. At our most recent dinner here, my wife raved about her monkfish dish, but it pains me to say my scallops and accompaniments were grossly oversalted, and the cranberry cobbler dessert, so treacly oversweetened only a 6 year old could finish it. My hope is that it was simply the chef's night off.
