Novikov - Italian Restaurant

Very disappointing, food was very average & service was not up to par. Would not return.

If you want a glitzy but a footballers type place head for it. Italian has a refined atmosphere and good food. We had to wait for our table but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Octopus starter was delicious. Can’t say it’s good value. Prices went up a lot since my last visit

Worst worst worst manager I have ever come across! Our food was slow, drinks were slow and when I politely asked why everything was so slow, I was greeted with the utmost hostility and disrespect! Novikov is full of wannabes and I will take me and my custom elsewhere! WORST RESTAURANT IN MAYFAIR. SUCH A SHAME!!! NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE!!! INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED A

It was all ok, the music seemed to be a radio station which was odd. The food was a little too quick and the coffee at the end took 30 minutes! The waiters were not overly helpful, big restaurant so maybe that is why.

Food was amazing with such a beautiful atmosphere! Was really busy in there so the service was a little slower but I wasn’t in a rush at all so wasn’t a problem for us. Definitely recommend :)

I had made a special request which was not fulfilled slightly disappointed.
One of the dishes was not prepared properly as the hygiene in the fish was bad.
And we was placed very very close near other tables even though covid guidelines had been put in place.

Other than these complaints the restaurant is beautiful and the service is great.

Very nice experience. It’s my daughter’s birthday celebration and she enjoyed the Italian happy birthday song from the waiters and the juicy ribeye steak. I liked the lobster linguine. Definitely will be back after lockdown.

Amazing dinner

I expected much more of Novikov but felt it was more of an upmarket Pizza Express. The service was terrible, starters were rushed out before our wine was bought to the table, starter plates were left for a long time after we finished. Further drinks orders were ignored. We waited a long time for our mains, once they arrived, I wish we hadn't bothered. Food was average at best, especially at the prices charged here. I wouldn’t recommend and I wouldn’t return.

Hi came here to pre proposal to my lady greeted politely, entered to the top floor very busy and energetic good atmosphere! I was seated very quickly to our table at the italian restaurant on the lower floor lit very nicely waitress and waiters very friendly and help full quick responses, drinks cane quickly and the wait for my food to arrive fealt like it didn't take long to come at all due to a nice time of enjoyment food was very tasty cooked very well and not too hot and not cold

Portion sizes are tiny for the price you pay. Drinks are also weak. Ordered a Raviolli and received 5 very thin pieces, took only a couple of minutes to eat. After we had finished they asked us to leave, we were only there for around an hour in the first place. Money hungry restaurant!! Very poor vegetarian options also, only 2 on the menu from memory.

I live close to central London and I’m always dining with friends and family in the area in all different types of restaurants
But this was by far the worst service we have had in many many years can’t even remember the last time it was so bad

Felt really Christmassy and the staff were so efficient and welcoming.

Ouir first visit to Novikov.....always wanted to go as always seems very busy (particualrly in the evening) when I've gone by. However, Italian restaurant was virtually empty so no buzz/atmosphere. 12.30pm reservation for lunch and just 2 weeks from Xmas so was disappointed it wasn't busier. Was told that the restaurant was fully booked for lunch when I asked why it was so quiet, but still just a handful of tables occupied when we left at 1.45.
£145 for 2......and my Pizza main was just £12.50. Beautiful wood fired pizza oven, but only 2 x Pizza choices on the Menu. Mains all very expensive. My wife's chicken main was a) very bland and b) leg only, no breast.

Everything was nice but found one on the waiters quite rude/unnecessary to my friend.

It was fine, food was ok

The food was nice - the bresaola was a bit disappointing, just looked like a pack from Waitrose emptied onto a plate which I could buy for £3 but charged £15. We had to wait in two queues for 20+ mins despite having a reservation, and then felt very rushed as they didn’t take any food or drink orders after 10 so we ended up eating quickly and just having water. The mains were lovely and the restaurant was lovely but maybe if they took less customers they would be able to take more time with each table and give premium service rather than everyone looking stressed rushing you.

I’ve now eaten in both the Italian and Asian section of the restaurant and had a few nights in the bar. Always superb friendly service.

This restaurant is nice, however it appears it is more focused on being trendy than the food itself.

Turbot was delicious and ambience was really cozy and Christmasy. Definitely recommend. Some diffusers in the lavatories would be nice to have.
