Food menus is non creative and very basic. Great service and excellent ambiance
overpriced food. poor service and food average.
It feels we were being fed extremely overpriced pub food. I know it's Covid times and we all have to tighten our belt, but that was a bit much.
Thank you for your honest review and for providing us with the feedback. Covid is certainly an easy scapegoat, but we are certainly not looking to hide behind this to justify our shortfalls. Please know that your comments have been shared with the culinary team and we will aim to improve on them moving forward.
This place may be advertised to be something it’s not. If it’s a hotel restaurant for guests to eat, then great, no complaints, you pay a premium to get food in the hotel, no worries. But when it’s advertised as one of the top restaurants in the city, then my review gets critical. I won’t complain about the wine list, it was pretty good. The restaurant is under staffed... we barely received adequate service. The quality didn’t live up to the hype either. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
Amazing brunch! Flavours were fantastic. Service was very good. Highly recommend.
Excellent steak.
Great service.
Romantic booth setting.
We had New Year brunch on Jan 2nd and ordered two fried chicken nothing was memorable... there was significant discrepancies between the two waffle dishes; one order the waffle was done nicely while the other were soggy. The salad was a little watery and the sliders were clearly overcooked as the patties had the texture of a cardboard. The braised short rib was the only acceptable dish. The food were certainly not acceptable for such an establishment.
We ordered 3 dishes. 2 had to be sent back as they were cold. 3rd dish came at wrong time. When it finally arrived the pancakes were undercooked and doughy. For a high end new years brunch this was an amature effort. Staff was polite and courteous though. All in all not impressed and will not be back!
The cocktail menu was fabulous. Everything we sampled was delicious.
The salads we had were very small flavourless and cost almost $30 with chicken. Don't waste your money here.
Highly recommended! Delicious food with reasonable price. Received a complimentary dessert for birthday. Great ambiance. Will definitely return for more gatherings!
I love the decor, but the place was lit up like a retail store. We had to ask twice for the lights to be dimmed. I don’t recall there being any background music. Our wine glasses were dirty (mine had lipstick on the rim), and one of the plates we were given was filthy with someone’s food residue, like it came to us after being cleared from another table. The waiter was appropriately apologetic, but it makes one wonder about the state of the kitchen. It was a disappointing experience overall.
Awful place
It was wonderful to have the same impeccable service with Jacqueline serving us as we have had for many, many years. Your restaurants have morphed numerous times over the years but we still enjoy making it our place for family memories. Thank you.
Dave and Cheryl Koop
Food was pretty basic and not great value and the wine was over priced. However, our server, Stella, was outstanding. She made the evening the success it was.
I cannot recommend this restaurant. The turkey dinner was just okay.
My wife and I enjoyed a delicious four course Christmas dinner in a beautiful setting with live piano. Excellent service, great cocktails. There was a Christmas tree competition in the hotel so we were able to see several trees all decorated in unique ways.
Christmas
When we booked we were told 89.00 when we arrived it was 108.00. Shouldn’t someone have told us?
Christmas Day with our bubble cause we couldn’t have it at home as wasn’t big enough to social distance responsibly for others in our building.
There was no atmosphere nothing to even suggest it was Xmas Brunch, no crackers or little features. The lights were too bright, there was no atmosphere. Service was very poor and to have to continually ask for water was ridiculous.
Won’t wast the money to return again that’s for sure.
the food was served so late , we had to wait over an hour, the atmosphere was Christmas like however the quality of the meal was not at the satisfactory lever, the whole service was degraded the value of the hotel. After a long hour of waiting for the meal I finally got meal that I did not order, the wrong dish was served and the presentation of the dish was poor.
Different food experience. Fun place to go w family
Good food very thoughtful service we were not rushed but pampered. The atmosphere allowed for easy conversation. We stretched out meal over 4 hours.
Great staff, great service in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend :)
The setting is lovely, and service was superb.
The happy hour snacks are good.
Great brunch (bananas should always be brûlée’d) on a comfy couch by the fireplace. Attentive service. Cozy atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
The service was fantastic
But the food was strictly... ok
The cocktails were amazing but the food was mediocre and the service was poor.
Had our wedding dinner for 4 at the Notch and it was amazing! Food is SUPER yummy and the ambience was perfect for an intimate dinner.
A quiet Christmas lunch with my daughter.
Lovely surroundings, delicious food and excellent service.
For me it was simply ten out of ten.
Food was acceptable, service was absolutely non existent. This isn’t the first time either. Same thing happened last week at the bar in the lounge.
We like the hotel and Notch 8 space.
Food wasn’t that great nor was the service considering there was hardly anyone dining.
The service from the the entry of the restaurant was fantastic, the host and server were both kind and welcoming. I had reached out privately to the restaurant to let them know that while everything else was on point, my French toast had a fishy smell to it which is what took away from the whole experience. No one has gotten back to me with regards to my complaint that I had made and that too put a damper in the whole experience of dining here.
Food is not very impressive, considering it’s in a luxury hotel.
We ordered a couple of soups to start, nothing to die for but the bad was to come. My wife ordered the sablefish, which is regularly one of the featured dishes. This one was raw, cold and hard, one of the worst we have had, specially for the prices they charge.
Very good for a hotel restaurant. Been there 3 or 4 times and always have had a really nice meal.
Wonderful service, really good value happy hour choices and spectacular wine
It was awesome. Loved the food and ambience.
Brunch on Saturday was wonderful. Delicious eggs Benny. Side order of potatoes was huge and definitely enough for four people. Highly recommend Notch 8.
Honestly it’s shocking how much they have let this location slide. The drinks were terrible and over priced. The server was rude and not knowledgeable not to mention that it took 30 minutes to get a drink. There was zero ambiance and we were sat in a crooked booth with an uneven table. Overall extremely disappointing. It’s a shame because it used to be such an amazing lobby restaurant/bar.
The place is quiet for a Friday night. Food selection is limited but overall quality is good.
